I use a full rope on 3.9 mm ID coils. Half rope in the tails.I saw you guys talking about big clapton coils with a full chuck of Sally's the other day, prompted me to go back to that Ni200 clapton. I just put a six wrap 3.5mm ID coil in a Merlin with a full chunk of the rayon, cut my fav store bought juice 25% with VG to add some vapor and help reduce the coil crudding, I must say the flavor is just stellar and the clouds huge, cutting the juice didn't reduce the flavor at all. I only wish I had freer air flow but than again that might reduce the flavor, I'm just use to the mizer's air flow.
before i share this with somebody who ordered 12 button tops when she needed flat tops could you look? it seems straight forward to me but the video is not in english

Certainly would work, but I would feel a lot better if he put a fresh wrap on the bat.

Funny thing is that for months I have been thinking they were 3mm coils until I actually measured the ceramic pin (this morning) that I use to wrap them. The ceramic pin is nice because I can install the coil and then pulse it at 600F a few times with the pin still in there, seems to set the shape and reduce distorting the coil when I wick it.
No way on altering the battery, might be acceptable with someone experienced with such things but otherwise not. Just my opinion of coarse.
I'd probably do it but would never recommend it.
Yep, they all start out as flat tops, and usually someone AFTER the factory who adds the buttons and a wrap.So I guess you learn some thing every day! Are all button tops, just flat tops with an extra piece on top? The only button tops I'v ever had were AW IMR's from back in the Provari days!
Never rewaped any of them.
BTW not all wraps are created equal, These are a thick plastic & require no cutting to size

They are called "Ceramic Thread Guides" and are very common on Textile machines. They come in all shapes and sizes. I get them at work, we have all kindsYour ceramic pin is interesting, do you recall where you got it?
And while I am thinking about it...
What's the easiest/safest way to totally drain out a battery designated for the recycle bin ?
I want to pull the button tops off of them and keep them.
Is there a name for this type of Clapton? Two twisted 26g cores wrapped by 30g. (TI) So 4 cores and a wrap.
I would called it a staggered, not sure what call it.
I hosed it towards the end, but I got a 7" stick before that happened. Might be enough for 2 coils.

A small incandescent light bulb.
I cheat, I just use a good hot soldering iron and solder a ball on a flat top.And while I am thinking about it...

Do you have a bat holder laying around. Soldering the leads would be better.2 wires and tape should do me then ?
