Anybody use this setup and can tell me how to trim the wicks?

Sucks, that your having problems :( IDK what I can add here, Supreme's are real forgiving when it comes to wicking. Here's a pic of one of mine, it works Great!

I always had problems like that with 316L. Good performance at first then, after a little while, anemic output and having to raise the temperature significantly to get a decent vape. That's why I've switched to Ti and SS430. They stay consistent.

On a brighter note, my Aegis came yesterday and I've been enjoying it! The first thing I did was update the firmware which is a very different process from Evlov chips. Atomizer off, battery out, fire button held down and then plugged into the PC. It went smoothly and took less than a minute though.

I've checked it out, comparing its' performance to Evolv chips, with Ni, Ti and SS430 and the same settings on the Aegis that I use on the Evolv chips produce very similar results. I should order a new meter and some thermocouples and do some "kitchen sink" testing to see with some more certainty.

The mod, itself, feels very solid and the fit/finish is very good as well. The leather accent piece looks kind of nice. I got a silicon sleeve for it to protect it when I use it, as intended, while working outside. Getting that sleeve on is a bit of a struggle, but once it's on it fits very nicely and doesn't interfere, at all, with the operation of the buttons.

I'm using it with an 18650, LG HG2, and the supplied adapter at the moment. So far battery life seems on a par with my other mods. I just ordered a couple of 20700s, Sanyo NCR-B, even though I hate adding another battery style to my "stable". I thought 18650 would be the only one needed once the 18350s died off back in the Vamo days.

Overall, I'm happy with it and will probably order another one, or two, if it works out. If Mrs. Awsum likes it, I'll lend it to her for a couple of days later this week, I'll get her a couple as well. The biggest problem is getting used to a totally different menu system.

I use a VP4 charger so I think, yet to be tested of course, two will fit with no problem. I've never charged more than two batteries in it so if the two 20700s fit it'll justify having four bays. Being an all or nothing type, I'll pass on the 26650 and go for the gusto, 20700 or 21700. Next up is an Exide car battery.

The 2X700's do fit in my SC4, but it's a tight fit!
I can see why any one would be hesitant about 26650's, they were a huge "Fail" in the old days :(
The IJOY INR 26650 is rated higher than any 2X700 that I know of, 4200mAH 30Amps :)

This is a quote from Mooch on the IJoy INR 26650 :)

Bottom Line
This iJoy cell's 40A rating is exaggerated. This is incredibly frustrating because it's the first 30A 26650 I've ever tested and no exaggeration was needed! Why the hell do companies like iJoy still think they need to do this to sell batteries?

This is the first 26650 I've tested that acts like an 18650. Its internal resistance is lower than many of the good 18650's and it held its voltage well. At 30A/100W pulsed it ran approximately 75% longer, and 0.15V-0.20V higher, than the Basen and Brillipower 4500mAh cells down to 3.2V. It doesn't match the appearance of any other 26650 I have so I don't know where this cell came from.

Mooch also says beware of "rewraps" of which iJoy is one of. I'll stick with the 2x700, from a know manufacturer and supplier, series for now.

I just put a new cooling pad under this laptop. The old one was starting to make noise, fan bearings dying out. I got a CooleMaster, not expensive, single 120mm fan. It creates a breeze in my lap! In the process I cleaned, blew out, the laptop. Now the "R" key is giving me problems....grrrrrrrrr.

Idk if itai a rewrap, there's no other 26650 like it. I have a few of those. They are better thant 20700's if you dontd mind the size.. .that and the blue liitokala, (which 20a/5000mAh) are my favorite 26650's

I'm starting to think 316L is just garbage... Now I remember why I stopped using it, still confused as to why most people I've talked to prefer it over 430.

I'm going to have to make some out of nife or 430

Hey Mike, have you had problems with the over drill of the grub screw holes cutting wire in the Merlin? I just rebuilt one for the Mrs., had it all wicked up and trimmed, and the one wire broke off. I had even triple folded the potion through the post to try to prevent that. I did a quintuple fold once I stopped cursing and rebuilt it AGAIN!

That's one of the things I appreciate about the Aromamizers, no over drill in the grub screw holes so it's very easy to get a tight, secure, connection with no worries.

Agree on the 26650 :) I'm running 3 26650 mods & am really liking the battery life I'm getting :)

The Wire is Fused Clapton Titanium, I make my self, 2 by 24 wrapped in 30, ohms out @ about .11 :)
Works Excellent in TC!

BTW what is "the blue liitokala" 26650? 20 amp 5000mAH sounds good, would like to try it :)

Had that problem with Ni200, I pulled the Pos post from the deck then from the back side of the posts I used a small punch, tad smaller then the screw holes, and put a dimple inward toward the screws side. I used a small roll pin punch, it has a bump on the end to keep it centered on a roll pin, pic below. Now the wire has something to come up against before it gets sheared off. I was going to use a tiny diamond dremel to open the hole up like I did on my mizer decks but the metal is so thin in that area I didn't want to go through, plus it would have positioned the coil legs closer together then I wanted.

@Steamer861 I'll usually run single wire Ti on my single battery DNA75's for super long battery life. In my area, i'm only one of two TC vapers that I'm aware of. Gifted 6 boxes of Temco Ti, cuz they were never sold.

I only run the Ti Claptons on mods with enough Power & Battery for them :)
I run a lot of simple single round wire build also, been running Ti for years now.

With your generous "gifts", You should have plenty of Ti to build your own Claptons :)
There worth the effort! :)

You know what really helps, not getting broken wires under set screws? "Fused Claptons" :D
I have a problem with developing hot legs inside the wraps, where the fused wire itself starts shorting or something. Its definitely not a coil touching another or the chassis.
