The challenge with those is the two of them I have seen are designed for hollow doors or 1/2" sheet rock, I havent seen any with a 3/4" shoulder in between the wings and the collar. Without that 3/4" shoulder they will try to expand inside the plaster and crumble it.
I bought some of these Efla , and some 1/8" x 2" Molly Bolts, and I will try them in a closet where they wont be seen.
I love the look of these, similar principle to the plastic above, only the part sticking behind the wall collapses. I just cant find these metal ones in the US anywhere. I have read good things about the Efla plastic ones though.
For heavy loads I am going to test one of these, supposedly just as strong as a traditional toggle bolt but require a 33% smaller drill hole. They are made by Hilti which is a company I really trust.
Apparently they must still use a lot of plaster in the UK as I saw many innovative solutions over there, just not practical to get samples for a trial.
Any other suggestions?
I have the inside of a closet (mine - not hers) just waiting for the trials.
