Hey Willie, how's the Jeep turn out? Inquiring minds want to know!
You must of posted as was typing that! I hit "save" and your post popped up ahead of mine! Glad it went OK and hope the exhaust system isn't too much of a beach! I hate exhaust work, heck I hate work!
I've had a busy few days. There was a planning board meeting I wanted to go to on Thursday night and it turned into a marathon. First item was a 500,000 square foot warehouse going in at the border of a "general light industrial" zone and a residential zone. It's less than a mile from us. Convenient how after the general comments by the owners lawyer talking about how many jobs it would bring and what a great "rateable" it will be and public questions, they mentioned tax abatements. Then, after I researched the company building it, I found out that they're actually moving from one town away, a leased warehouse, to this new one which they will own. So much for those 100-150 jobs as well as that wonderful "rateable".
Then they finally got to why I was there, along with about 30 or 40 other local residents. Their lawyer and experts spent almost two hours talking. By the time our side got to talk it was time to adjourn, after 10PM. So we've got to do it all over again next month! I ended up getting home after 11 and that's way past my bed time.
Friday was quiet, but last night I had just gotten into the shower when the Mrs came in to tell me our neighbor called and had an emergency and needed some help. So the shower was a quick rinse off. I hustled over there with my tool bag and found out he has electric heat and one of the thermostats was stuck on. I did pull the thermostat to double check it and it is definitely stuck on. Shutting the breaker off cured the problem for now, anyway. The thing that bothers me is that it's a single pole thermostat on a 220V line. To make it interesting it's wired with 10 gauge wire and the load is only 2000 watts, say a 10 amp load on a 30 amp capable feed. That wire is so stiff getting the thermostat back on the wall was a real PITA. Pushing it in, even after arranging the wiring, pushed the mud ring and box back further than the screws could reach. Lots of cussing with that one. I'll get him a new, double pole, thermostat today and put some 12 gauge, which is still technically overkill, pigtails on to make it easier to get the thing on the wall. I got in bed at 11 last night, again.
