You can't really compare blister pack chimney coils to regular center wicked coils.

I don't see why not? But anyway it is the same with a dripper too. You can pour juice right on a hot coil being fired and still no popping. Remember that experiment I did with juice with an induction stovetop in a non-stick frying pan? All juice does is slowly vaporize. It doesn't pop, jump around, or even move around at vaping temperatures. You can take juice stored in a freezer and pour it straight in a 500°F frying pan without any violent reaction at all. As all you are going to get is a very fine vapor that looks like smoke.

Just a thought, if you fire a coil without air flow it pops pretty good, maybe air flow is where the problem lies.

It does, but rather it sizzles. To my surprise, heated juice alone barely does anything. There is something about a wick soaked in juice that gives it that sizzling. I dunno, air and/or moisture expanding or something. Juice alone it doesn't happen. It seems like it needs something porous like cotton, rayon, ceramic, etc.

A trick I got from @awsum140 is I split a full rayon rope in half and then thread each half from opposing sides until the full thickness of the rope is filling the coil.
Ah, the "double penetration" method described in the original Rayon thread many years ago.

Bill, I think you may have, inadvertently, provided the answer. I started mixing with 5% H2O in all my mixes about two years ago. The popping started around the same time. The dawn has come!

Let us know what happens. I've added water before (not routinely) at 5% and I haven't noticed anything except thinner juice. Maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention. :p

Sitting down, facing forward.
Now I've seen it all. A Cabellas/Bass Pro flyer came and I browsed through it. First thing that caught my eye was a lithium ion, battery powered, filet knife. Who'd a ever thunk? The next thing was a reel from Shimano with "digital cast control". I always thought one of the great things about fishing was learning the techniques. Guess not anymore. Next up will be a bot to do the casting, reeling and filleting for you. Just send it out and eat the fish. Oh wait, I can do that now if I go to the fresh fish market, no bot needed.

I have just made my 1st purchase from FT since the Corona Virus outbreak. I shall treat it as it is "infected"

Experts say the Corona Virus can't survive the trip on or in a package. But then again the experts doesn't have a flawless record either. Anyway I treated my packages from China so far as I normally would. You know, spray them down with Lysol and give them a 3 hour alcohol bath. ;)

That Kree RTA looks interesting. The only way to adjust the airflow is to rip your build out and to change an insert? Hmm... I guess that is ok. I do like the look of it though. :D
