I wonder how well nickel will survive being thrown in a baggie.

I think I would be more worried about the quality of the nickel. Reforming a soft nickel coil would be easy, improving the pureness of nickel... not so much. Since I have no easy way to determine the quality from an unknown vendor I would just pass on the deal. Maybe I'm just naturally untrusting of others.

I wouldn't. There is tons of Chinese Ni200 in circulation (Lightning Vapes), the great thing about Ni200 is it is just about pure nickel so there can't be much impurity in it. That is a large part of why Evolv chose to use it.

China has been building coils for vaping for years and even before the dripping atty's and tanks of today. Back in the day when I first starting vaping we only had carto's, cartridge type atomizers, and a few tube type atomizers... that was it...all manufactured in China...even today if you are not building your own coils and are using pre-made coil heads that just screw into your tank they are coming from China....there are a few US vendors who are bringing "exclusive" nickel carto's and pre-made coil heads of their own but even those are made for them in China. With that said, I really don't see the quality of China nickel to be an issue.

I know this is off topic but just want to say:

Yesterday a fraudulent internet purchase was made on my credit card for 699.99 out of state. I was immediately alerted by my bank of the purchase. The bank was not aware that it was fraud until I notified them. As a lot of us do, we purchase from many vendors on line.

I had a couple of fraudulent out of state charges after making a purchase from what I thought was a US web site but it actually based in China. After a trip to the bank and getting it straightened out the bank rep suggested I open a free checking account and use the Visa debit card for that account to make online purchases. I keep around $200 in it and make transfers into it from my main account when I need. It has been working out great so far.

What is unusual about my situation is that my bank sent new cards 4 days earlier because they wanted new card numbers for added security... I activated the new cards and destroyed the old ones. Guess what.... 4 days later someone frauded me for 699.99 using the old card *(which should have been closed the minute I activated the new ones four days earlier)...go figure....the banks corporate office is now involved as they have sent out thousands of new cards when activated don't close the old cards out...

I've been using a reloadable visa solely for online purchasing, and as it would turn out it had been comprised during the MFS bs. With that option they can only take what was in and nothing more, but everyknows that. Oddly enough plasma donating is what supports my vaping habit and keeps the wife woes at bay lol.

Why would you guys do this??????? A credit card will protect you from ANY loss. I would kick the bank rep in the teeth for such an asinine suggestion.

Aren't there fees and transaction charges associated with a reloadable visa? I'm looking at a different approaches but not discounting a reloadable...
Yeah there is but isn't much or hardly noticeable unless your using ATMs. Plus now Paypal has included them into their transactions has been an incredible boon.

I use a reloadable Visa also, and for the same reason pretty much as you... for better protection. I was hit by the Home Depot security breach on my main business account as a result of buying supplies there, and while my bank took care of it with no issue it was a PIA to have my account locked for 4 days while the investigation took place and funds returned to my account. It got me to thinking a bit more about securely buying from not only dubious sources, but from legit sources as well. I still use my main business debit card for local business transactions, although I have put a fairly small daily limit on it as a result of the breach (and yes I should probably have done that from the start), but that incident certainly got me thinking and I decided to use a reloadable Visa for my personal vape purchases and it has worked out quite well.

Yes Retird, there is a monthly fee of 3.95 for maintaining the card, and also a 3.50 fee for each reload of funds. So there is cost associated with it. For me the small amount is well worth the peace of mind. But the best thing about it is that I use this as a budgeting tool for my vape purchases and that has had a very positive effect for me. I wind up giving each purchase a lot more thought before buying and not only stay within my allotted monthly budget (because I don't want to pay the reload fee more than once a month), but I generally have funds remaining at the end of the month from the budget I initially intended to spend so I spend less overall. And I buy far less crap than I used to, giving each purchase a bit more thought has drastically cut down on impulse purchases that tend to fill my junk drawer more often than not. So for several reasons, security being primary, I really like this way of buying vape gear. And the card still has all the buyer protections of a typical bank Visa so I'm not worried about buying even from Chinese vendors... although they rarely have anything I would value purchasing anyway. So while there is a fee for this, I just look at it like a peace of mind service I'm paying for kind of like car insurance. I've never needed to make a claim on my car insurance, but I couldn't imagine not having it.

Jazzman..... thanks for the info and insight....have been looking at that and also at a separate bank account just for online purchases.... I'm leaning toward another bank account (with a debit card) since I can have one with no fees or charges. Then I can just transfer money into this new account as needed. Will kinda act like a reloadable debit card...my bank has no fees or charges on any account I have there as long as the accounts in total maintain a minimum balance cumulatively.

Sounds like a perfect solution Retird. Just don't make the mistake I did with my business account and connect overdraft protection from that account to your main account. But having a protected account sure eliminates the worries of doing business with new vendors you don't have a trusted relationship with or overseas vendors in general, or even vendors you thought you could trust that turned out you shouldn't have. Well worth it.
