"G" - This is the comment you made lastnight that is impossible: "All DNAs have always ramped up power. They just didn't display live wattage. Power is instantaneous in all modes on every dna I own, including 40s and 25s.

You can have it one way or the other but not both.

The post you quoted explains it for you. Here it is again:

No, it means they all behave in a similar way. If you interpret that as ramping up then they all ramp up, but apparently sometimes you interpret that as instantaneous power. You are the one with contradictory standards. Basically you press the button and power goes right away. It always builds, watch the voltage on a DNA20 or 30. It's just not as obvious because the corresponding wattage is not displayed live. It also always ramps down.

You don't have to listen to us.... guess you want to censor those who don't agree with you.... and for the record one more time..... I've used Evolv products since day one (Darwin) and no matter how much you want to critisize them that will not change.... I have no business ties nor any financial benefits with Evolv.... I am a beta tester for them and many other companies you are not aware of ( I make no money from that either but do get product to test but I guess you think I should have to pay for that also even tho I spend many hours testing).... if it works for me what do you care? I state my opinion just like you and the other SX fans...I don't critisise or call you a fangirl....

Bottom line is if you don't want or like a dna product then that's your decision.... I'm sticking with what I like.... If my opinions or post bother you just click ignore.... I've used the ignore only once in almost five years here in ECF... it works...

Here is a video review for you on the V4.... he doesn't really recommend it either but listen to what he says about the screen glitch.... he is yet another reviewer stating his opinion only.... we all have opinions.... get over it...

Honestly Retird you just don't get it do you. The Hana Modz V4 is a good looking unit as far as I know well built albeit I have heard a few complaints about the 510 and a little difficultly in opening the battery door.

Now considering that Hana made a nice looking box with some buttons on it. The Screen Glitchy DNA40 is still a part of the package and IMHO a defective DNA40.

Now if I criticize the circuit board what does that possibly have to do with the Hana Modz package... Nothing. As far as the price drop if I was a Hana executive and the word came out that the DNA40 was still demonstrating "Glitchy Screen Problems" I would probably drop the price to get rid of them also.

As far as a "Fanboy" of Hana I don't know, really don't care, I just know that it gets a little old listening to you and the "G-man" defend ever problem that manifest itself on a dna product. If your TV had a few glitches in the screen from time to time we both know you would be, IMO, upset enough to contact the vendor to get it fixed. Your willingness to live with bugs just because you got it at a reduced rate is your privilege after all you have been doing that with Evolv DNA products since TC first came out.
I'll have to disagree with the TV analogy since a mod's main function is to vape and even with a glitchy DNA40 display, the vape doesn't change.

Maybe not the best analogy but my point of irritation is that I feel I can't trust Evolv to eliminate a screen problem after months of endless problems in that area. I also had to pay to ship my first unit back to Vapor Flask to have my screen fault repaired. Why would I buy another from Evolv that is still showing screen problems. There are plenty of TP units out now that don't have any issues with screen displays.

It is a shame the Hana Modz V4 has this lurking problem/bug (whatever) because until I heard that the DNA40 chip still has problems I was completely ready to purchase.

I am aware the unit vapes properly but that is not all one buys when purchasing something. I look for quality and items that become better with time which doesn't seem to be the case with Evolv.

None of my other DNA40 devices have any issues. My current favorite is the VS DNA40 with large screen. It's also the smallest I own. Both DNA40 and v4 were purchased within a week of each other.

KTM,

I don't doubt a word you saying. I also agree the V4 V4s is pretty cool looking both the V4 and V4S caught my eye right off.

That said I just went to YouTube and you can find a lot of reviews that are not as flattering as what you are saying.

As far as yours all working my first DNA40 Vapor Flask worked great for about two months all the while I am reading the people that were not so lucky going I wonder if it is just them doing something wrong. Then out of the blue my screen went bonkers and I had to send it back for repair. So I guess what I am trying to say if people are still seeing minor screen glitches with the Hana... well the definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and expect different results. Also the YouTube videos are not limited to just screen problems with the Hana there are button, battery door and quirky 510 problems. But they sure are pretty I'll give them credit for that.

I hope yours hang in there for ever or until some one comes out with something better and from my vaping experience that will be in about 3 weeks. I have never gotten into a hobby that changes this fast not even computers or cameras come out with something earth shaking like the Mod industry does so often that by the time I hear about a new whatever, it is already "old-hat" and I try to stay up with this stuff as best I can.

Best regards @retird!
All is not good. I can't believe the level of rudeness I'm seeing on many threads from many posters.
Put a hole bunch of peeps on ignore tonight, first time and depressing. :(

Best regards to you also...I'll still be active on ECF but no longer will waste my time on banter....Those new to DNA technology will still have questions and as always I will only try to be of a bit of help if I can... that won't change.

Needed a laugh, so I decided to catch up on this thread...yep, It still delivers!

One comment: the DNA40 is approximately 6 months old now, SIX MONTHS!!....and it STILL isn't 100%

Lucky for me, mine has worked flawlessly for over 5 months, and I don't doubt for a second that it will continue to do so. I'm sorry to say I haven't recommended a DNA40 device to anyone I know, not one. The two friends that followed me down this path (against my advice) had screen issues, and both of them have unloaded their VS40s and moved on to better things from across the pond. How sad is that?

I guess I'll ask here too.........just in case............

I need some help with my Flask transplant. you can refer to my "Build Log" which you can see here................

DNA40 Transplant into Infinite Clone.pdf - Google Drive

It has started throwing me the "Weak Battery" message. I know this usually means a poor Negative to the 510 so I pulled it appart and found nothing apparent.

I have checked resistance to the connections and it all appears O.K.

In an effort to take the 510 out of the equation I have peeled back the insulation at the board and connected power direct...........same error?

Connected at the red arrows below...................with alligator clips on a spare battery sled.

Any suggestions before I rip it out?

And before anyone asks............my batteries are good!

You're having problems with your flask also. I just did my flask (Waidea) a couple days ago and now my screen is biting the dust. When I put my board in I only used the batt - on the board for the atty gnd and the also the negative side of the batteries, I didn't bother using a header pin like you did. Maybe I should have, who knows. I haven't had any problems yet with the weak battery message. Maybe reheat your solder joints, possibly a cold solder joint somewhere? Clean the brass batt caps, threads etc. I also used a lil noalox around the top plate when I installing it. Hope this helps.

Good to know yours worked flawlessly..... loving all mine.....BNEAT wouldn't be BNEAT without a DNA dig...lol
You obviously don't realize how much it pains me to advise people not to spend their money on our (America's) only decent electronic cigarette control board. I WANT them to all be perfect like mine so I can stand on that soapbox right there with you and thumb my nose at anyone who dares to try to keep up with the mighty USA.

I know you didn't "like" my post, (surprise, surprise) so maybe you didn't read where I defended the DNA40 in the SX mini thread when a Yihi fanboi insinuated the vape quality was lacking. No way I'm going to let someone bash something that doesn't deserve to be bashed. I WANT to be an Evolv fanboi!

To hear people defend the 40's shortcomings is one thing, but to downplay it's flaws is embarrassing, especially when the product has been on the world market for this long.

I had one screen die also.... a slow death due to a cracked glass (installer error... yep I cracked the glass).... device continued to function just fine just no readout....

Are the screens on the DNA40 really made of glass?? I (ignorantly) assumed they were made of plastic. I want to clean the (unprotected) screen on my Flask more often, but I am afraid of scratching it all up.
