General Discussion of any manufactured personal vaporizing device using their patented electronics incorporated in the device. A gathering place for those using the same technology in various retail devices. This is not a thread to compare xxx device against yyy device but to discuss the common technology, and for Q & A of the technology.

Hola @retird ,

after long, long times, I really had fun over here, with the attack of the clones thread.
I'm more a lurker than a poster, but I read a lot of your posts and like your style.
I was away, for almost 1/2 a year, from the forums and not because i stopped vaping but because I got 2 DNA 20 mods from a good american modder and really was set... but curiosity brought me back and I entered a shopping frency... Hahaha, the vape savings where pulverized... :)

Anyhow, today i came across this video and can't really believe what I see:

The reviewer (german) is considered serious and he insists, through the whole review, that the board is an authentic Evolv DNA30...
Since I believe you have a bit more of an insider view (as a fan, like me) on Evolv, what is your take on this?

Wish I could translate the video...LOL... I have no clue what he says except for bits and pieces of English. I've not heard of these PVs (till now) nor read about them. I did a short google search ( 128 dollars US from a UK vendor )and some advertise as Evolv and some say REvolv and some say genuine while others say clone.

With that, my take is that I can't answer your question factually.

Right?
Absolutly surprising, but I can't really believe it myself because it would have been common knowledge by now that authentic Evolv boards are in a chinese mod.
If I find something new about it, I will publish it here on your thread, beeing a fan of real Evolv products, which does not exclude my interest in the SX chips and others...
I'm curious about this and as I said the reviewer is considered serious over there on the other side of the pond :)

Great... if it's real the info would be good to put in this thread...

So they took a vamo style body and moved the window and buttons to add the DNA board. Interesting but looks to much like the Vamo. Nothing against the Vamo I have one. That now sets unused because I have a XPV DNA30.

Yep... nice mod but I think all DNA PVs are brothers or sisters...

I totally agree with you it is like a Vamo 30 W, just like the KSD.
I, also, think that I wouldn't use a Vamo enclousure for a DNA board and don't get me wrong... I just got a couple of Vamos for my vaping padawans down here.
I like that vamo box system but, also, that is not new. I remember I saw it somewhere some time ago... don't ask me where... the few floating neurons I still have in my brain don't remember... :D

Yep pbusardo just made a general statement so it will be interesting to see what develops. I do know that Evolv has a track record of adding new products to their line. As you know they started with the Darwin about 3 years (or so) ago and have added the Kick, Kick2, DNA 12, 20, and 30. What's next?

it's an interesting question. I think the trend of "more power" is becoming overkill. Once the 100w sx350 is out is there really any reason for evolv to be chasing higher power levels anymore? There are already 50w devices hitting the market. The problem I have is mods keep getting bigger and bigger. I would be much more interested in something that has the power and accuracy of a DNA board but could fit into something small and sleek. Imagine something the size of an ego or 14500 mod that had the power of a DNA. I might be alone in this because I know people love high capacity tanks and huge battery capacity, but it seems like reducing size would be the most impactful innovation at this point.
