So after wasting around $200 on batteries, ranks, juices, etc. I'm nearly ready to throw this junk away and start back up on real cigarettes. Bought an Ego C Twist kit with 2 batteries, 2 Evod tanks, charger, etc. Put down the analogs the same day (9 days ago). All went well for a week or so. Bought a 1000mah twist, tried some different juices, preemptively bought replacement heads, etc. Long story short, after day 7 the draw started getting really tight on my Evods, so I changed the heads. Both gurgled badly, juice in mouth, the works. So I went to a different store and bought another Evod and another pack of heads. The new head in the Evod worked for less than a day, then got so tight that I couldn't get a hit off of it. Changed heads, 3 puffs, tight again. I wanted to throw the thing. Went to another vapor store and explained the situation. Solution: ProTank. I hate it. The Vale is entirely too cold, even with 1.8 heads. I don't see all the rage about this thing. I would take a "working" Evod over this waste of $20 everyday that ends in "y". All I want is a tank that freaking works! Some have suggested adding wick, or removing this or that. I shouldn't have to pay good money for something, and then have to modify it to work correctly. If that's the answer, it's back to the real ones for this guy. My neighbor has an MT3 and hasn't had a single problem. If I were so lucky. Any other opinions before I go to 7-11 and stop wasting my money "vaping"? Thanks.

Get yourself a genuine vivi-nova. There about 10 bucks and are VERY reliable. The don't leak, have replacable heads and the draw is nice, not too tight not to airy.. I can't comment on the evods, never tried them. I only have vivi's Iclears and rebuildables in my line up.

The genuine Vivi Nova is the VISION one. ALot of people like them.

I loved my Evods when they were working correctly. Nice, warm, heavy vape. The Protank takes twice as long of a draw, even after I find the sweet spot that I like, to produce the same feeling as my Evods. And even then, it's a cold vape. Not impressed. The place I went to had some IClear 30's, but the ProTank was suggested by just about everyone that worked there (probably because it's the most expensive one that I was looking at.) I want a no headaches, low maintenance tank. Is that too darn much to ask? lol

Honestly I have had great luck with my CE5s and protank. THe CE5 is a warmer vape though than the protank.

Lately I have been moving over to carto tanks. They are a little fiddly to set up in the first place but pretty much a no brainer once they are. Good flavor and a nice amount of vapor.

Part of the learning curve. Just about every delivery device has its drawbacks. The good news is that you have good batteries and, hopefully, satisfying juice. The delivery options are relatively inexpensive and you just need to find one with "drawbacks" you can live with. Bottom feeders tend to have a lot of gurgling, juice in mouth complaints. Plus, they tend to vape a bit cooler than top coils and cartos. For a really cheap price you could try a Kanger T-2. It is an older style that is well developed, like the Vivi. I prefer it to the Vivi because it is a little warmer and a little more flavor comes through. A carto-tank is even better but has a bit of a learning curve to prevent flooding. Either way, it might be worth it to try the Vivi or T-2 first.

Unfortunately, IMO, it IS kind of a 'waste' of money, until you do the 'trial and error' of different devices, different nic levels, and different tanks, until you find your 'hey that's awesome' combination.

Straight up... don't give up!!!

Yes, it seems now, that your spending a lot 'more' than you would on analogs. BUT trust me, a little more trial and error, and you WILL find that ultimate combination that just rocks for you. AND you will be SO much healthier, and happier for it.

Myself... I have an easy couple hundred bucks worth of '...' stuff in my vape drawer. But once I did find my "sweet" combination, I don't regret a dime of ANY of the money spent.

Don't listen to all the latest greatest - newest "i gotta get" either. Take your time! It will be worth it!!!

I have tried, Ce2's Ce4's, Ce5's, carto's of all sizes, Dual coil tanks, and vivi nova's. All have their 'advantages' and 'disadvantages' to the vape. It takes time, (and unfortunately) a few bucks to find your sweet spot, but you will. I promise!!!

The Vivi novas form vision or the ICear 30 might be a good choice for you. They are top wicks and they have a warmer vape. As far as the wick removal for the most part those are a act of personal preference not usually a need. I have some juices where I take a wick out of my pro tank head others where I do not.

I know it can be frustrating, but vaping is a lot of trying out different things till you find what works. There are also carto tanks, dripers and other things to try. I hope this advice helps you get a better footing though. Stick with it you will be glad you did.

the first time ive ever really been happy with my vaping experience was with a mini vivi from gotvapes.. only problem i had is when i had it in my pocket, kinda broke the base just enough so it sat crooked and leaked juice into my pocket while at work... not fun. but, if kept safe and not bent around, its kinda hard to hate on them.. and, the problem could be your juice. i would prefer to use straight VG, but found that vg/pg mix just works better...

You are lucky you have real brick and mortar stores to go to! I would absolutely take all that gear to them and explain as you have here and ask for help. Unfortunately, vaping gear does indeed have a learning curve. I've learned so much from forums and youtube, but hands on help would be ideal. Please, be good to yourself. ((())) hugs

I think the expectation of any new vaper should be that switching takes a bit more effort to run with than peeling the plastiwrap off a pack of Marlboros and puffing away. I started with a basic carto...very reliable to me, but didn't hold enough juice and I got tired of dripping to refill. So I purchased a DCT carto tank and some pre punched cartos. They worked ok...but after a bit or a few refills they'd flood all the time. So I learned a bit more about cleaning them when they gurgle and flood...but it still wasn't the "carefree" vape I wanted. I purchased a Vivi Nova (it didn't appear to be a knock off) and didn't care for it as the vape had a plastic taste. Changed out the head and same thing. Vape was warm...and it would hit well...taste was just off. Now all that time (over the span of 60 days) I had problems I said to myself..."Hell this is STILL better than sucking on RJR's teet. I still feel better. I still smell good at the end of the day. My daughters, wife, etc don't have to hear me wheeze or smell my 2nd hand smoke."...and so I I kept on keeping on.

I came across a thread on the Protanks a while back. The first 3 I ordered worked flawlessly. A little airy draw...but I fixed that with some tape and eventually plugged a hole permanently. Then it seemed I got a pack of replacement heads that didn't have 3 wicks...just two...and until I figured that out, my tanks would gurgle and flood depending on what juice I had in it. However, to me the tank was THE most easiest of all I'd tried to keep working consistently. But just today I had issues with flooding...and again I pulled the protank head and it had only 2 wicks...so I put two more in from a older head I had sitting around. Been working fine the rest of the day...

I guess what I'm saying is that you have to do what you have to do...and in the end if that's changing back well no one here can make you stay smoke free. But hang in there and your Jedi e-cig powers will grow. You'll start getting a feel for what works and how to fix the issues with things that don't. But it will never be "just as easy" as picking up a pack of smokes and lighting up.

Hang in there if you can!!!

One more nugget of wisdom I've learned. People are going to tell you, "Don't buy Nova's they suck!" or "Protanks are the best!"... Don't buy any of it...each have their own issues, and one persons dream is anothers nightmare. Expect you'll have issues...but over time they'll lessen, mine have...and now I vape issue free 95% of the time.

It really is all about fine tuning to what you prefer in 'your' vape. From what I read, you know you like a warmer vape and a tighter draw. Remember that as you research new products :)
Your neighbor likes it cooler and airier-Not your preference. Everyone is a bit different.

After 3 plus years I have found my happy vape spot. Spent plenty of money along the way, too. It has been worth the ups and downs for me. Sell what you don't like on the classifieds and recoup some of your money!
For the longest time I liked darker juices and then they all tasted bad and now I prefer the lighter more fruity juices without the overwhelming sweetness. Poured out a lot of juice and held onto a couple to go back and try every now and again. Most people at VapeStock this year were vaping the really thick sweet juices and I could smell it everywhere-lol. Not my thing, but hey, they were vaping and not smoking. A much better option!!!!!!!!!

It is very discouraging in the beginning for a lot of folks new to vaping and hanging in there is the most important factor. Quit being so hard on yourself! You have us here to cheer you on and do our best to help you find your way. You can do this, pay attention to the details of what you like and when you think about a purchase, start a thread and ask us, Did you try this such and such product? Is it a warm vape or cool, is it a tight draw, medium or really airy? How much fiddling did you have to do and was it worth it and why. Things like that should help you keep the expenses down and fine tune what it is you are looking for in vaping.

Many mods/bats/cartos/atties/flavors/gennies/the latest and greatest(insert device name here) and more patience than I ever thought I could conjure up later. I have settled on RBA's and fruity juices for now. Two doctor appointments for respiratory problems/colds/ and the like after this amount of time and adding years to my life by not smoking tobacco and I am happy with the outcome.

Please reach out, but also take note of what you do find that you like and ask questions and google the heck out of new products. Don't jump on the first run of anything, wait for the reviews and really listen to what the reviewer is saying. Watch their faces as they take a vape, read the facial expressions. You can do this and persevere. No smokes for you-LOL But really, it is the newness of what you are doing and the lack of chemicals from the cigarettes that put you on edge. Don't let tobacco win, you are stronger than all those chemicals that make your mind scream at you to just light one up and it will be ok. It won't be ok, until you are done with tobacco!

Lot's of good advice in this thread with why they like their preferred choices. Don't do the just go get this and life will be roses posts! LOL

I have to completely agree with this, it is all in "your" vape and no one else's. I know that it can be hard to spend that upfront cost of find the combo that makes it ok, but in the long run you will get there!

I have to agree with rotku - and I totally understand your frustration! I have box full of clearo's, tanks, carts etc, along with 808, eGo batteries and several large bottles of juice I thought tasted great when I quit smoking, but now tastes putrid. Anyway after a lot of trial and error I still have not found the perfect juice delivery however, I've found that I like a simple drip atty. not the rebuildable, just a "disposable" joytech 510 2.2ohm atty. I didn't like the other devices for the same reasons as you.

It's still not perfect because of capacity, but the vape is great and I love changing flavors on the fly if I desire. It is trial and error for sure as it has to be something you're satisfied with - not necessarily what everyone else uses. Hang in there! If I can find something that I'm reasonably satisfied with, I'm confident you can too because I'm a picky bastidge. ;)

We are all doing our best to talk you into coming back in the window off the ledge. Don't jump, just come back inside and quit listening to tobacco. All crutches call to you to come back. Only you know that if you give in and have a smoke-will you say having that one was enough and you can get back to vaping or will it end your efforts at breaking the chain. That is a question that only you can answer.

Some of us can and do-do both until we are ready. Only you know the answer (I really did say it again). If it becomes to overwhelming, have a cigarette. Hopefully it will taste nasty as all get out and you stub it out before you smoke it all the way down. Some do, some don't. When you feel the reaction your brain has (if you smoke a cig)-it could become very clear to you that it is the chemicals in the tobacco that make your brain scream at you to smoke. I hope this is just a small hill for you and not a mountain to cross over. I had a mountain and I have climbed it up, over and down-it can be done.

I am years into vaping now and generally use genesis style RBA's. That being said I steer everyone I know who wants to start vaping to Green Smoke to start. They have good flavors and vapor as well as good nicotine choices and they WORK. I would tell anyone to find a reasonably prices mini to start and then vape those while researching more advanced things so you can make informed purchases and experiment while still having a reliable and trouble free method of vaping in the interim. This is important because it can keep you off the analogs while figuring out exactly how you really want to vape.
