Okay, I finally nailed the .8mm flat kanthal. I stayed with the original EHW method using a micro-torch. The key here was to get the ceramic red hot with the tip of the blue flame and then roll the wire into the tip of the blue flame. This method would blaze through round wire so it was a bit surprising. Even when the wire goes beyond red hot, it still was able to take a bit more tension than I thought with out melting or popping. This wick is bit rougher than my other ones, so that may play into things here too. The coil as show is just under 11mm long, and just over 1.3ohms. I'll probably need to pull a wrap to fit into an atty.

Oh man I cant fault that wrap at all!!!!

Super job there

What a team of guys!!! everyone leaning off everyones thoughts and perfecting this wrapping

I LOVE IT!!!

What a team!!!!

just modded my Aga-T with a spring/washer in anticipation of getting my 3/32 wicks from Lhartman89. Props to whever came up with the idea. used a pen spring, and a washer from a dremel sander collete. slightly ground down the washer so it grips the wire better. cant wait!

Hey I got props!! LOL, yeah that would have been me that came up with the washer spring connection for the scubagenv3 so many moons ago. Guess it was cool or somthing :) But back then we used 19ga nails and tiny 0-80 washers and a custom spring.

i seen the rip tripper dudes video on the cloth wrap. didnt see yours ill look. my vamo only allows 1.2 ohm, so i can do stuff like that. i do plan on making my own 1/8th wicks though. not sure if it was you, but someone said you only get 2 seconds before a dry hit if not tilted with the 3/32 wicks.. 8 or 9 seconds with the 1/8th. just hope my dremel can drill through the aga-t's stainless steel

i think the video is on page 20 or 21 right now. it really doesnt matter if you get a dry hit at ant lenght of time with out tilting, because who vapes their mods straight up? its only natural to vape at an angle, and at an angle the vape fine. yes in the vertical position the wicks will dry up at high wattages, unlike ss wicks. so if you vaped vertical then maybe ceramic wont work for you, but i havent heard of anyone who will actually vape vertical, so to me it doesnt really matter what the wick does straight up. with your vamo, i believe the best vape is going to be a 4/5 wrap, which is going to be close for you, it comes in at 1.1 to 1.2, that is what i am vaping in the vid, if that doesnt work then a 5/6 of 30g.

The dremel is going to struggle drilling out the AGA-T2. It's designed for high speed, not torque. If you attempt it, I'd use several step-up drill bits. I was twisting the heck out of the cap wearing heavy rubber-dipped gloves with an 18V Dewalt drill. I drilled 7/64" first, then 1/8" to make it easier on the bits and still burned through two 1/8" cobalt bits drilling both holes. I did get through the first hole with one bit, though.

Scubabatdan, nice trick!

vapdivrr, thanks for the tips. vertical should be an issue though with a full tank, right?

no it shouldnt, sometimes i get sort of an over wicking thing, so i have to hold the mod a little bit more vertical for a vape or two, and with a full tank it vapes fine. it does seem though with the ehw, that they can go alot longer vertical.

High speeds with ss is a nono. Your bit will overheat and loose its sharpness in no time. I used a 18v drill on the slow speed with lots of pressure and passed for about 10 sec 3 Times while drilling but I also went one size above 1/8in to 3/32 I believe.

do you mean 3/16? that is good to know you were able to drill it out a little bigger then 1/8, more breathing room

i seen a youtube video. dude says it was 1/8th

being that i just have the older aga-t, i cant say for sure. i was actually thinking of drilling out mine, but if the new ones are already done, maybe i will just buy a new one also. it is also possible that this guy just made a mistake.

anyone come up with an easy mod for the center post in the AGA tanks I feel my post is way too thin

Just get an upper or bottom insulator cap from a did atty, insert it to the top post and add a small black oring to the post before inserting it into the 510 connection on top of the grommet that it comes with...
