Well people, I got delivery of the Trustfire 18350 1200mah protected batteries for my smoktech natural mod, turns out they should be called 18380.
So eagerly I open the pack, untwist my mod, fit the batteries in and as I thought too long, tried adjusting no luck, everything at maximum adjustment and still the mod wont twist fully closed, leaving a 2mm gap, well off to the workshop.. get the base apart, center pin out and grinded away around 5mm as the final amount, I tested with the 800mah batteries just barely enough length in the center post and tested with the1200mah all good has adjustment in it now at fully closed casing.
I think the smoktech natural mod is perfect now, packing a 1200mah battery in a "fit in your fist size" tiny mod. It will be interesting to see how long these batteries actually go
Happy here.... (so far)
not playing with wicks tonight... too tired....
I just got one (AGAt2) last week 1/8 does not fit....waiting on the 3/32
I heard that the ceramic can crumble/be inhaled/etc. meaning it isn't a safe alternative to SS (although SS has it's own problems with Chromium IV or whatever right now). Is that true? Ceramic seems like it would be great from an ease-of-use perspective (don't have to worry about shorts and etc.).
he said hes still doing comparison tests on the efficiency of both methods.
lol, thats my closet door. i actually did that awhile back cuz i couldnt get an ss wick to work with my malfunctioning vamo. went through like 10 ss wicks. didnt realize the vamo was toying with me the whole time.deadperfect, was that a hole in your door in the video? you need a door stop, so that when the door opens up hard, it doesnt create a hole in it. LOL.
so how does the 5mm hit? the 8mm sound a little slow just like i have found with the 28g.

if it crumbles, i havent seen any crumbs yet. imo it is a very clean vape. if you are waiting for something that is proven to be 100 percent safe, you may be waiting for a very long time. ceramic has a learning curve just as much as ss wicks, but the vape is much better.
I gave up on Ceramic Wicks. couldn't get them to wick enough fluid to do anything but glow like hell and stink. Probably the wick hole on my Z is to small but i'm not willing to enlarge it at this point. SS mesh is working fine for me and I don't burn he hell out my mesh nor get it anywhere near the temps needed to worry about Chromium Oxide.
Food for thought: If i wanted to market a new product, what better way then to create a scare that what you are using is dangerous and panic people into rushing for something "safer". (if i was unscrupulous of course)
I get my 3/32 wicks today so I'll be setting up my AGAt2 this evening and running it on a P18. I think the ZAP needs a bigger air hole or a smaller wick........anybody else out there using a ZAP with a 1/8" wick??
froggy, youll really like the combination of the 3/32 wick and the aga.
yup, i just tested it on my silver bullet, no kick, with a fresh 18650 imr, and sure enough, its not cooking like that. guess all this time strugling with cotton and ss wicks, it was my vamo going into overdrive. got it from vaper break a few months back. time for a new vari-volt i guess.
EDIT: ok, the wick works great in my silver bullet... tastes really good! but alas... i just put up my SB for sale this morning , lol. got to get another VV mod. this thing was too big anyway. can anyone recommend a smaller one that isnt 260 bucks?

I'm vaping both at the same time with the same juice, the .8 on a provari, the .5 on a Sigelie. Both at max watts. The .5 has seen too many mls and needs a clean-up, but is still performing great. Its instant-on, nice and smooth, but has a bit more edginess (in a good way) on the vape than the .8. The .8 is slooooow. But once it gets going it is very smooth. Almost too smooth, no throat hit except for the 6mgs of nic in the juice. It almost seems like its asking for more power. Both produce the same quantity of vapor. Large clouds! They are both great.
I find myself using the .5mm regularly and then I reach over for the .8mm and then go back to .5mm. More so because the .8mm is on a Provari mini and that 700mAh battery last only for about 10 minutes of vape time at the amp draw level.
If I had a mechanical and could push 20 watts into the .8mm, I would use it 100% of the time. But since I dont, the .5mm is the better balance.
Sorry, long response to your question and then some, but until you asked, I really did not think about the comparison.
Short Answer:The .5mm hits great!
Bottom line: .5mm for VV/VW devices, .8mm for Mechanical devices. Sorta the same conclusion as round wire 30g vs 28g.
