I'm running 220mm mesh on a 4mm wide SS 500 wick 30ga Kanthal and nothing less than a mechanical will do it justice. It's making more sense to me that this is likely the 'why its better'. I was thinking back to trying some 100+mm solid 500 SS mesh wicks at the same Ωs as thinner ones. And to get a comparable vape on the fat wicks I had to significantly increase the power to the coil. Seems reasonable the same thing is happening with the different ceramic diameters.
The fragility of the 3/32 is enough to stop me from looking over that way. That can get costly.Looking at my AGA-T+ here, I'm thinking you could drill out a new wick hole below the silica post, and use that post as a second ground connection. Then you would have two 3/32 wicks on the same side of the atty for proper wicking as you tilt. What do you guys think?
The 1/8 CF-2000s I'm running are beyond fantastic in every respect.
No re-wrapping. I just run .2ml PG through every other tankful and that cleans it all up. My juice is PG-heavy and use less than 1% flavoring, so little needs cleaning up. Once I have a workable installation, last thing in the world I do is mess with it. I don't dryburn. So how often are you guys cleaning/re-wrapping your wicks?
