No feedback on the Rauschert wicks yet? I ordered some today...

can't wait too... are they supposed to be stronger?
Something funny about this store, they have 25g and 27g but no 26 gauge!!!
I ordered both. I really loved the 25g. problem is, I can only use it with the original FCs (that don't fit the AC9). I'm not exactly sure what's going on with the fishstick, but when i'm done with what seems to be a successful EHW, I discover that in fact it's cracked several times between coils... so frustrating. I hope these can bare the 25g...

Hey DS, what made you take a shot with the German wicks, lack of FC supply? Did not look like they wick quite as well as the FC in Dan's test. Material looks very similar to whatever the BD13 is as well. Did you get them from that zivpf German shop? Very interested to see how they go mate.

I belive the BD13 is the ceramic heat fired tubing, furnace thermo-cupling matieral?............I have been known to be wrong.

Yes I got them from zivpf. I still have plenty of FC's and I'm really happy with them. But there's still one chapter I need to close and its called "closing the DID's fill hole". With the FC, I managed to close it without getting hotspots which is a miracle considering the wire and resistance I'm using. But the vape I'm getting is not nearly as good as the open DID. I have 2 18350 caravella tubes and hoslter coming in :smokie:, I really need to have that DID setup sealed and portable asap. So I thought I'd give these a shot since DV won't sell to me!

BD13 is a nickname for a ceramic wick not ceramic tubing. It's being developed by ECF member, Boden.

yea but the 13 has a hole down the center, so does the thermo-coupling, this stuff was going around awhile back and was so expensive few peeps tried it, it looks like the same material, i have been known to be wrong though. The 13 does looks like it wicks really fast, i am intriuged.

The white wicks supplied to me by Boden do not have a hole in the center. I don't know what they are made from, but I also have a square wick which indicates that the wick is cut from some sort of stock.

And it does wick really fast :D

Zyg, you're right until proven wrong :)... do you have anything left of these tries ie a search key, a supplier, a link, anything?
I'm even more intrigued...

0% porosity for the rods as stated in the property sheet. that's not it I guess. nice thing about them is they have a detailed composition.

No sanding and i did take the insulater out, the 1/8 slotted DV wicks fit with out any problem, there seems to be some difference in size with the wicks from retailer to retailer

I have some from Tank and there real short when I put them in my real AC9 and my ZAP. They fit like a glove in my RSST's. So Im using those until I get some longer ceramic wicks. Just need to find them in stock somewhere. I did take the insulator out of my ZAP and the wick will need some sanding to get in there. Need length more than anything right now. Im trying to get away from mesh altogether. I might have to use mesh for a little in my nice RBA's if I want to use them...LOL

They will work fine even thought they are a little short. I have one in the AC9 and it is fine. Just tilt to make sure the wick is covered when you take a vape and keep it topped up so that some of the wick is contacting the juice.

A nice little trick is to wrap some SS mesh around the bottom of the ceramic to make up the length.

Dsmooch had a post about it:
