Hi all :),

Here's a great video
about the probable implications of the FDA regulations in the US and the Euro TPD in Europe.

What can still be done, what cant, what will probably happen and when, what can we still hope & fight for.....

= some interesting inside info from members of the vaping industry and questions from the audience=

This was filmed at the recent VAPEXPO tradeshow that took place in Paris in late September.

On the panel=

Someone from HALO
to talk about the FDA regs and the effects on the eliquid /vape industry,

Someone from Totally Wicked to talk about their EURO Court legal case and the general situation in the UK and in Western Europe,

A rep from a US trade Union (SFATA) representing 600 US vape-related businesses

+ the host, a French guy from a French vapers association.

Please take the time to watch this..... It's interesting & informative and answers quite a few questions Ive seen on this Forum....

PS : for those not concerned by what's happeneing globally and who dont want to hear the Totally Wicked Director talk about their court challenge and the implication s of the EURO TPD in the UK and western Europe...you can skip straight to MIN 17+ to listen to the woman from HALO who will talk about the FDA regs etc. After her the US trade Union rep will speak about the severe problems theyre facing in California and the concerns of US small & medium Vape-related businesses .But ideally it's best to listen to the whole thing, the comments all have a GLOBAL importance (and the English guy from TW is very interesting, makes good points...)

Oh GOSH...sorry guys...I just listened to the above ENGlish version and the interpreter is just SO bad...

I hope you were able to understand what Patricia from HALO actually said...? (the translatpor didnt seem to!)

Here were some of her major points =

-The FDA proposals WILL go through
-FDA is getting MAJOR heavy pressure from Congress on this
-The only thing to do now is to wait until the FDA proposals go through and THEN attack certain points thru the courts.
It MAY be possible to "win" a few things there but they will be few= At least three quarters of the FDA proposal will stand as is....

-No one will come and close down Vape-related biz as soon as FDA rules come into effect .Businesses will just slowly die off over the next year- or two.... or max-three.

-FDA "authorization requests" will cost approx 2 Million $ per SKU to file....
one will have to be made for each eliquid flavor and EACH nic strength...
They can turn them down if they want to as there is no formal criteria (and they have a history of refusing even the smallest changes)

=90% of vape related companies will close down over the next 1 to 3 years .

For now alot are waiting to see what happens....Some have decided to close down before they are forced to do so .The LARGE companies have already taken steps to "prepare" for compliance.
She suggested that that's what Halo is doing and that they will be one of the 10% that will be able to survive. (probably)

The "good "news....

In the US there doesnt seem to be any problem -for now-with devices & batteries, just eliquid .They dont anticipate having any probs with them in the future, they say, they think batteries are already heavily regulated(import etc) and Halo says no one is interested in atties/tanks etc.

(well, we'll see about THAT once the Euro rules go into effect...It may just give some congressman somewhere a bright idea...like, hey... we TOO should outlaw all potentially leakable -and thus dangerous- atties..... ;)
