I feel... comfortable mostly vaping in areas it's considered okay to smoke, but vaping for two years - cigarette smoke makes me kind of ill. It bums me out I still feel relegated to these areas. I'm a full time student now, so it's not as bad as when I was working in an office full time, and the smoking area was WAY off to the side of the building. Anymore I'm only afraid people will just think it's a sneak-a-toke or something (with smaller PVs). Usually I'm pretty obvious using an original hex copper with CE2 Clearomizer XL's...

Tobacco companies are still advertising in magazines. Sept maxim has 2 ads, another i looked at has 4 (one with cupons). Thats just one magazine. Either way analogs have been around for ages so advertising probably really isn't needed. Point is if you smoke an analog people know what you are doing. Puff on a PV people may become curious and that gives the opportunity to introduce them and give information to them about a safer alternative. The more informed people there are the less reason for anyone to feel weird vaping in public. Not to mention the more support the vaping world will have against those who want to see it go away.

Sorry i think im starting to rant.

I'm with the person who said his friends bust his chops. Mine certainly do, but the one who gives me the hardest time, still smokes and dips, so.......he calls me "vape-head" and I call him "dribbles".....works for me.....but seriously, if anyone snickers or gives you a funny look, just remark that you looked far more ridiculous and stupid when you were smoking analogs.

The answer is dark sunglasses. Dark enough so that people can't see your eyes. Something about wearing them just makes you feel empowered. "That's right, I'm vaping. Deal." :2cool:

Yes, I'm being serious. How you look can and does affect your comfort level. I'd also suggest getting some of the more stylish e-cigs (you can find them in just about every color---I tend to stick with black or chrome with blue LEDs). If what you're vaping looks like an analog, you'll probably get more resistance or condemnation than piqued interest.

Just be prepared to talk to people about it. Do so calmly, and only with people that are willing to talk about it. Don't cause trouble with those that don't. Some people just insist on being .......s about it---just keep telling them "I'm not smoking." If they make you "move along," or start threatening to involve the authorities then move along. The exercise might do you some good. ;)

In the end, just keep your cool, and be careful not to break any laws or policies. So long as you're not doing that, you've got nothing to worry about.

... ignore 'em! Life's too short to worry about or 'mud wrestle' with those that need to boost their own egos (BTW, my favorite vaping system). Why even concern yourself with those that scorn your efforts to free yourself?

Wow, I said that without using one day-um or frack... must be getting mellow in my advanced age!

i vape a lot at home, pretty moderately when i drive, and sparingly in any other "public" setting. i don't feel like i NEED to use it, like i felt the NEED to have a cigarette. i don't like to have to deal with all of the questions and looks in public, plus using it less in public helps me from vaping all the time.

I felt weird when i first started also. You get used to it and it wont bother you.

Vaping is not illegal so you dont need to avoid doing it around cops either. I had one staring me in the eye as i took a puff of my eGo and blew out a cloud of vapor and he just kept driving. Some officers are knowledgeable and keep up with current things.

I will be using my ProVari in public and it is huge and looks like its illegal with a tank on it but i dont care. I have a right to Vape and if they want to harass me for that they will be in for a good fight :)

I realize that it's not illegal. I'm just trying to avoid the hassle of having to explain that it's not dope to the ones that don't keep up. I'm also a dark-skinned minority with long hair and really don't need any more attention than they are already giving me. ;)

I'm paranoid, but not that paranoid.

That's awesome. I'm always wearing my Oakley's or Spy's with my :2cool: look.
I pretty much vape everywhere. Some people ask questions, mostly smokers. Seems that most people could care less. Especially when you're just cool about it.

Interesting how even though it has nicotine, vape doesn't have that affect to it, eh?

Hmm.......

That's because there's more addiction potential in cigarettes than E-liquid. Believe it or not, nicotine all by itself isn't actually that hard to wean yourself off of, or at least drastically cut down on. It's one of BT's dirty little secrets: Most cigarettes contain MAOIs -- antidepressants -- that enhance the pleasure derived from cigarettes. That enhanced pleasure makes your brain crave cigarettes even more when coupled with the addictive properties of nicotine itself. E-liquid doesn't have any MAOIs, just the nicotine, so lacking that addiction enhancer you're just left with the straight addictive properties of nicotine, which are much easier to deal with alone.
