I laughed when I read that you were considering a contest to guess how far the caps flew when you threw them into the woods. I don't own a GLV but I had a different [very popular] mod that never worked, got sent back and forth thru the mail a couple of times, always came back with a note going into great detail how it was user error...blah..blah...blah. I finally just go so fed up with it that I threw the whole thing into the trash bin. The sound it made when it hit and rattled around was the most satisfying moment I'd ever experienced with the unit.
Never discount the value of an occasional raging freak-out.... sometimes it's just what the doctor ordered.

Heres the actuality of this situation folks..

#1-420 wins a GLV in contest- GLV arrives. GLV stops working 3 days later. 420 messes with top cap for a day, gets it working again. GLV gets sat on by 420, threads strip.

#2-420 asks Jay if he can BUY replcement cap (keep in mind, NEVER asks for it to be under warranty, for Jay to fix free, he wanted to BUY (with his $) a new cap with threads that arent stripped.

#3-Jay says hey, I dont have extra caps but I have a PAIR that are mismatched white/black speckled powdercoated from my testing. Ill sell to you for $15

#4- 420 pays $15 for these caps, expecting to have a working unit whenn they arrive. Jay said was mailed off 2 following Monday. Then 420 waits and they dont show. Jay said they werent mailed that Monday, but that following Friday. 420 is still waiting. 420 recieves caps yesterday (sat) and package says maild on Jan 19 (THIS past TUES)

#5-420 puts on caps (which I saw myself and they look terrible....powdercoated several times, so much as you cant even feel the knurling anymore, colors are uneven...just UGLY caps...period) He puts onto his SILVER unit, battery rattles. takes caps off to see that the "stuff" in the top cap is in wayyyyy further that old cap, so he stretches spring to make contact. STill doesnt work. Fiddles around soome more....STILL DESNT WORK.

#6-420 learns how glad he is that he didnt buy this unit bc Jay sent him caps that were not only used for powdercoat testing, but were obviously used for powder coating bc they DONT work.

Bottom line.....420's GLV DOES NOT WORK!!!!

If Jay didnt want to help 420 when he asked about fixing HIS mistake, he should have said "You won ur unit, I cant help you unless you BOUGHT it". BUT, he entered into a NEW business agreement when he asked 420 to send him $15 for caps that worked. They do NOT work. Therefore, 420 is upset. I hope others can underrstand this better now. He isnt mad he sat on it and it didnt work anymore, hes mad bc he was lied to abt ship date for things he PAID for, then when they arrived they were in worse condition than expected and DONT work. SO, he won a unit that worked for a few days, fixed himself, then broke on accident, paid for working parts and got ripped off. Jay acts like bc he won it, 420 should be happy even if it doesnt work but we ALL know thats NOT right......

I know i said I was done i would like to Thank 420 for his rant. Because of this i sold 5 GLV's in the last 2 days... good stuff. Oh yeah your 15$ was sent.

And Jay....Be honset with these people. I came to you politely and NEVER asked for anything for free. You sent me JUNK. PERIOD.........AND you LIED about the shipping.

I'm glad you are still selling units. Through this whole thing I have still said you have a good concept and design. All I've said are FACTS. I've also stated that this is MY experience and that everyone elses might not be the same. You are taking this whole thing to a PERSONAL level and it isn't. It's BUSINESS. BAD BUSINESS at that!!!! Get your act together Jay........Build reliable units or be responsible for sending out quality replacement parts. Don't sell, giveaway, or use JUNK as a prize. You have NO excuse good enough to cover your .... You sold me JUNK.

I hope those 5 units are quality, but from MY experience and the experiences of others in these Forums......WE know something will happen. Soft Threads on a unit where you are always swapping out atties is NOT a good thing. Only a matter of time before they strip out. But I guess since those people gave you money to start with ( money you claim not to care about) those units will be covered. Well my caps should have been covered....I PAD FOR THOSE.

You are a terrible businessman Jay. Get your crap together or go back to calling your venture a HOBBY!!!

The shipping thing aside.. I did not have any caps to give you. All I had was the set the i used to test on...and out of the kindness of my heart i agreed to send you that set at a discounted price of 15 $ They didnt work...so you say , and then got rid of everything or what ever you did. The fact is i sent you what i told you i would send you and told you what they were and what they looked like. If they didnt work when you got them you could have just let me know and i would have taken care if it. I think you just need to be in some kind of drama. I have had enough of this, and i will delete this thread in a few days. you got your 15$ ....enough

And Jay......I'm a nice guy, and I don't need drama. I need vendors who sell quality product. I need vendors who are HONEST to their customer. I need vendors who stand behind their products for EVERYONE.


I'll tell ya what I DON'T need.....Great Lakes Vapor. GLV Units, or Jay Fisher.

Delete the post,.......you still can't hide the truth. I'll ALWAYS tell people about you and your BAD BUSINESS practices. What ya gonna do......follow me around and delete those posts too?

I think that would go a long way in solving this whole problem.

If you don't have them on hand, can you maybe order what he needs and send it to him ?

That would be much better for customer service than all this...or deleting this thread.

Maybe explain as well why the shipping discrepency.

I think this is a good idea but both parties would have to be receptive...Jay and 420smiles and honestly 420 seems like he may not be but I could be wrong.

I don't want his business anymore and I don't want him deleting my thread. This thread is the truth and HE KNOWS IT. He knows this will effect his sales and that is why he wants to delete it.

Have a site mods move the thread!!

I have a machinist who will make me a cap for the GLV body I have. It won't have "soft Threads" as Jays units do. It won't have a faulty button like BOTH caps I got from Jay.

Most of all.........I want the ECF public to see how Jays business practices are.
