i totally agree with you Mustang394. just to be clear i didnt come here with the intentions of stirring up problems. i came here to discuss and the world of vaping. isnt this what the community is all about? to share ideals and tips? to grow as a community? sometimes i dont get online forums and dont like to post alot thus my 1 post but when i waited weeks for a product and followed the instuructions to a T and it doesnt work. to add insult to injury, when i tried to share my experience with the online forum only to get bahsed??

to make this clear, im not bashing PS. im just sharing my experience with the protege. and no, i have been vaping for awhile but only recently got serious since ive been smoking for 15 plus yrs and didnt want to die. initially i didnt know if vaping would actually work so i bought a joy510 and that made me a believer but i hated having to charge the batteries and always lugging around spares and so on...

anyways, my protege semi works now. i got a prompt email bk from PS and tried their remedy only to find my NEW protege semi working. my other "ecigg" works just fine with no probs. notice im not saying which one since i dont want to stir drama in this online forum!!

He posted what like 5 hours ago, not everyone lives on this forum, and with some of the early attacks why should he come back. Funny how people think only good things can be posted here. If you have a problem keep it to yourself? What a crock.

It's not like they send instructions with the Protege. Oh they sent instructions but it was for the Prodigy and the print was so small you can't read it. Yes I had to fiddle with mine to get it working too. Not what you would expect for the money.

And yes I think others should see the problems other are having with it so they can decide for themselves if they want to buy one.

thanks for your prompt reply sir. and no this isnt my first ecigg. i charged the batteries and swapped out the atty along with messing around with the adapter. it only semi works...and i will do a ticket tonight.

krncoolwater --

Not sure if you have a ticket with us yet, but happy to see if I can help out here.

1) All I got from your post was that you hooked everything up and inhaled. I'm assuming you have liquid on hand and this is not your first ecig, right? A manual battery is a bit different than an auto, so sometimes there's a learning curve.

2) What adapter/atomizer combo are you using, and do you have a 2nd atomizer handy to test with?

Let me know on the above and we can go from there!

Hey krn ... I apologize for the way members here handled your situation. We strive to make sure every piece of equipment that leaves here is thoroughly tested before leaving. Casey puts each Protege through the ringer ... so to say. But, that doesn't stop DOA's or Issues from stemming upon arrival and are more than willing to help :) Looks like you will be shooting us a ticket this evening! Will get Casey on it first thing in the morning :)

I agree that if you have a problem you should be able to post and have discussion about it to undertsnad where the problem lies and hopefully have other forum members chime in to help and maybe even bypass having to send it back but, there has been more than one occasion where someone (with 1 post) will come into a forum (not just this one) and make a totally random negative post. Every other forum member jumps in trying to help and the original person that started the thread never returns. After you've been around for a while you'll see it too.

I have four of the PS units and have had a couple of issues with one of mine. It was taken care of in a very professional manner and I am happily vaping away on that very piece of equipment right now.

I know this little incident will be taken care of and all will be right in the land of the vape soon.
I would like to personally apologize if any of my statements were harmful or negative to you in any way.
This is a great forum and the people here are very helpful and friendly.
Welcome aboard. I look forward to your future post.

BTW.. Casey is the best customer service person you'll ever deal with.

You are right mustang394, we try to keep things under control here but sometimes there are outsiders who don't even belong here come in to start trouble. They love to hear about a PS customer having trouble.

krncoolwater,

Sorry your first experience here was not very positive. There are some good people here and we normally have good discussions. i know that PS will get you fixed up. They have a very good track record when it comes to customer service. I speak from experience when I say you are in good hands.

Welcome to the Protege family, there are a lot us here completely satisfied with our products and with PS.

What do you mean, semi-works? I ask cause it sounds like some progress was made? What did you do to get it from "not working", to "semi-working" we can go from there, it would suck to send your unit back if all you had was residue on your adapter, a tight spring, or an adapter with a low contact post.

So, what have you done thus far?

What kind of atty's are you using?

Are you using the stock batts?

I think we can get you working without having to send you whole unit back.

Plus i feel kinda guilty for having started the "Bashing" kinda, but dang, i was already rubbed the wrong way from some previous posts by other users, and your OP didn't sound like you were giving anyone the benefit of the doubt.

Just me though

But see that is the problem who are you guys/gals to decide who has the right to say what?

What exactly did the OP say that wasn't giving the benefit of the doubt? If I was still thinking about buying one i would have loved to here how they handled it especially from a guy who isn't all over PS threads saying how great they are. A real unbiased opinion.

Now reading through some of this thread you start to see censorship by Steve.

Steve just deleted an entire thread that show that their customer services isn't always the greatest, well who's is?

So I guess if you are unhappy with a product post it in the general area where the owners can't delete your thread or post.

Just lost some of my respect and trust.

Mustang ... If you take a look at the past what ... 10 pages in our subforum, you will see that I almost NEVER delete or censor anything. You will see both positive/negative/and neutral posts and threads. However, when an unruly client, that we are unable to please in any fashion, starts to become irate, and disrespect not only PS, but Casey and my own Character, its won't be tolerated, just like it won't be tolerated outside of my own subforum in the public forum of ECF.

Actually I believe that thread was deleted as there was a problem posting the entire response.

I tried quoting Casey's reply when Steve indicated he had trouble posting and was also unsuccessful.

There was also an issue with a personal correspondence that the OP indicated should have remained personal.

I doubt there was any attempt to hide anything.

Edit: Sorry Steve, looks like everything is working again.

I read the thread before you deleted it, didn't see that at all? I did see quoted emails and thought while she was upset was still being respectful. More so then some of the ppl in this thread.

You deleted a post in this thread because he basically said he like a competitors product more than yours, And his post was deleted because it was unnecessary?

Anyways it's your forum. I just hate censorship for any reason?

I can definitely understand Mustang ... I don't like it either, thus the reason I normally leave the Good, Bad, and the Ugly. Chris' posts in this thread were purposely posted ... perhaps trying to get back at us. If you take a look at his history, the guy rarely, if ever posts, and all of a sudden started flaming several threads. I didn't appreciate it, and felt it wasn't needed and was ill-willed.

+1 on the censorship Mustang.

Steve has a great sense of humor and does leave a lot of posts remain, surprisingly.

However, no censorship at all can quickly spiral into chaos and there are people who would exploit it.

That's not fair to Steve or the customers trying to resolve issues.

Just my 2 cents.

IMHO if it gets out of hand you lock thread and not just delete the post you don't like.

But I agree to some point Stickless, the biggest problem i see is every time some post something that might be negative you have a bunch of "loyal" customers clog up the thread so you have a hard time seeing if it was resolved.

I don't know the whole story but it would appear Chris was a loyal PS customer until in his opinion his mother was treated wrong hard to say as quite a few of the post in that one were deleted too.

It is always better to see both sides of the story and assume those reading the thread are intelligent enough to see the real story.

Well Steve if you look at my history I don't post often either (normally). But when I do my post count should not be a factor in determining the value of my opinion or advice.

And your probably right, but I think most of us are smart enough to see through that smoke screen.

Your taking the time to address this to me directly moved you back up a notch in my book I truly expected a different reaction.

BTW I truly enjoy my Protege I have been carrying an extra battery with me when I go to our store but have yet to need it.

Very True Mustang ... I try to consider all sides and all angles of someones point of view. A person with 10 posts is just as valuable as a member with 1,000 posts. It was either extreme coincidence or ill-willed, I guess we'll never know.

The problem with that *smoke screen* is the conversation will travel over 3-4-5 threads. It gets completely jumbled up, chewed up, and spit out, and the potential client or current client is still sitting there scratching their head...haha... as am I have the time when reading threads.

Its what I felt was best at the time Mustang! Happy to see you are enjoying your Protege and wish you best of luck in your vaping endeavors bud.

Just a little food for thought. The ECF is supported by sponsers and by member donations. The reason for sponsers to advertise here is membership. A new guy comes on here and posts with his problem with a prod and is bashed for it. What do you guys think his impression of the ECF is, Do you think he will tell others about his experience? How about newbs who saw this post what will be their impressions? Perhaps it would have been enough to say that the vendor was an esteemed member of our community and will be sure to remedy the situation. No bashing on this post just a little food for thought.
