Just did a rewick and decided to try the coil wrapped fiber for feeder wicks.. Rayon wick. With a little tweeking its working very well up to 35w.

Wrapped coil on the blue screw driver. Double wrap at the ends. Just as long as the juice holes... Or from the top to the bottom of the chamber knurling.

Ended up using tweezers to pull the end of the coil out straight a little bit to catch the top and bottom of the holes so it doesn't fall out...

With the smaller coil it keeps a gap so there is air transfer.. Its been working good at 30-35w. I may go a little denser in the coils so there is more puff at the ends. It fed ok but wanted more for over 30w so right now one of them has a 1/16 coil

Also did an off set coil this time for better flavor.

Might get some of that magicwick from Arthur next time I order something.
Couldn't get the flooding to stop with the clone no matter what so beign short tempered been using it with the dripper, issue solved! (And o-ringns beign looser is just a good thing for a dripper since I remove the cap when filling to make sure the wick is wet.
So in the end money well spend though I will be getting more originals when possible.
With the quest for the perfect atty now laid to rest (maybe goliath, though) now I need is a TC/TP-mod.
Flask-clone could be the one I'm looking because with one 18650 in my K-Box I barely make it through a workday and do think TC might drain the battery a bit more than my 35 watts.
Then again are there any serious alternatives in "less than a hundred bucks"-category?

I saw how the braided string worked for you and figured it was because it stays tight and doesn't expand to fill the hole like loose fiber would.

So its going well so far. Of course it will take some fiddling. Biggest issue is keeping them from falling out.. I think fatter tails in the chamber will help..Will play more later.

Flooding shouldn't be a problem. I think your doing something a little wrong.. Take baby steps adjusting the feeder wicks next time. They just need to be the right size.

I'm using a year old tobeco v2 clone.

Jeremy, Just a thought, what if you squeezed one of the coils slightly oval to keep it from falling out?

What about the coarse aquarium filter pads they use for the GP Spheroid would those work as feeder wicks?

All you can do is try it !!! Nothing to lose, as long as air can transfer into the tank and its holds enough back to balance the tank pressure. It may work great.. Or not without allowing an air gap

I always wanted a spheroid back in the day. But then the vcore /aka chimney/ aka bcc, eliminated the need for it.

Well alas it was no matter how I set my feeders.
Well besides the option that closed up the feeding all together, but that really isn't an option now is it?:D
Might be missing a O-ring or some machining-issues, don't really know, but since it working perfectly as a dripper don't really bother to continue my investigation since I'm happy with a working RTA AND a rda.
These are made with far greater number and less qc so this things are bound to happen.

This.

I was using mesh feeder wicks with a 1.2mm hole and 80vg juice. I decided to try some mesh with a 1.8mm feeder hole. It didn't leak on me but it was feeding too fast. So much so, that I could see bubbles rising when I wasn't using it. Went back to 1.2mm holes in the feeder wicks and it works just perfect.

You just have to experiment to see what works for you.

So that is basically a straw that fills the feed hole except for a 1.2mm opening down through it?

Correct. I take a 7-8mm X 35-40mm piece of mesh and just roll it up around a 1.2mm syringe needle. Jeremy posted a video of rolling it without the needle earlier in the thread.

I could stick a tooth pick in mine and it worked with VG. The mesh needs to be able to slide in thw hole with just a little resistance so it doesnt fall out; if using vg. If it too tight in the wholes I find VG won't wick, a little looseness around the outside allows air to rise and juice to fall through the mesh straw. Too loose and it will flood. Usually the tightness in the hole is where I fine tune it.
