But you did get the right one, in the right Acerig box, with unpainted threads, right Art? Odd - as bad as the pictures are on the product page, I see no hint of gloss in them. But then, I've never seen pics of the black in matte either, so... Also odd is that you guys have been buying them and the stock quantity hasn't budged.

Mine is good. Now, if someone does not like shiny ones it would be a good idea to ask before buying.

BTW, I solved the crunchy switch problem. Just disassemble switch (easy to do if you are careful) and use graphite lubricant inside on both the button walls and the pin tube. I have done it with other mods, if you don't have graphite lubricant just use a pencil!

Yea I doubt it, but to be honest, I would of still ordered it anyway, as is black and everyone is raving how good they are, it took all my willpower not to order it as soon as it hit the site, but admit the finish of Nikki's Manhattan broke it

I have to speak to Doris about this .. Does the picture on site not look like the same finish as mine? Those pics were taken by the Warehouse guy in GA, so there was at least one that had the same finish as mine. That is why I am wondering whether Acerig sent a mixed batch. It wouldn't surprise me because FC's whole shipment was being held up for the Black Manhattan's, so may they snuck in the glossy finished one's so Doris wouldn't go "all man" on them.

I disassembled the switch on my copper Manhattan and used some really fine wet/dry sand paper with water to polished the inside of the switch housing where the button slides and polished the sides of the button. I made sure to radius the leading edge of the button ever so slightly. Copper is very soft so be gentle and don't rub hard if you do this. I then applied "GEL-GLOSS" to these surfaces. GEL-GLOSS is a wax/polish that is made for Fiberglass bathroom shower enclosurers and I get it at Lowes. I use this to keep the outsides of all my brass, stainless steel and copper mods looking like new and easy to keep clean. I just spray a small amount on a soft rag and rub the mod until clean.. After it drys I remove the haze and polish with another soft rag.

One other thing I have found is that the "ears" on the snap ring that holds the top magnet will rub the side of the pin that contacts the battery negative end cap slightly sometimes when the button is pressed. I am going to remove the snap ring and file just a few thousands of an inch off of it at the "ears". The "ears" are the part of the snap ring that has the hole for installing/removing.

One other thing to note is that the black delrin insulator in the top cap is threaded. Make sure it is not screwed up too high as it will stop your 510 threads on your atomizer from screwing all the way in.

I agree about those ears on the snap ring, I actually sanded the edges with wet/dry when I took the switch apart yesterday .. but I forgot to mention that in my initial impressions. The switch one the Copper also has a more "metal to metal" when engaging the switch, it felt much better after I took wet/dry to it for stain removal.

And I forgot to tell you guys that I dropped my switch on the kitchen floor yesterday, and today I noticed that I had a slight ding around the circumference of the switch Its not bad at all, pretty small, but it reminded me of how soft copper is.

The sucky Manhattans are not in the US warehouse, only the Acerig Manhattans are there, so there is no chance of receiving anything else. The stock quantity may be a system gliche??

Wish I saw this before I bought those Cape Cod clothes

I purchased a bottle of Tarn-X today at Lowes for $5.49. But be sure to read the directions on this stuff. It CAN NOT be used on BRASS or STAINLESS STEEL. It CAN be used on COPPER. It will stain brass and stainless steel. (I guess stainless steel is stainless until it meets Mr Tarn-X) After reading the precautions I would only use this outside.

I got this to use on my copper Manhattan. I did not have to use it on this mod yet as it arrived tarnish free. But I am sure I will be needing it in the future to bring the shine back to this copper mod.

VAPELYFE clearcoated copper and SS (maybe - will buy copper first and see). Preferably the "Tesla" one (2 different manufacturers from what I could tell - the other one carried SS and brass). No rush. I think I'm buying The First first from the other place...
