I've heard that vinegar also will clean brass and copper contacts or the mod's. Though I guess that's why the ketchup works. Got to try it this weekend.

Everything looked intact, and yes I took the + pin completely out. All I can figure from the posts and what I found (nothing) that there was a piece of trash/shaving in there that I never found. I put the same coil back on this morning, 2.6Ω, rewicked with rayon, and it is working again. Going to run a couple of tanks through it with it on my SVD, scared me a little with the instant heat from a dead short. Don't think the battery is hurt, its a 20amp Samsung, and was reading still 3.8 volts after it cooled down, charging it now.
No I have 4 different ones that read ohms (have a DVM on order so I can check coils before I mount them), but the SVD was handy last night, and seems to read accurate.
Thanks all for all the input as to what the problem could have been. Still don't know what it was, but it is working again.

It's hard to diagnose these types of issues without actually seeing it, so all we could do was surmise.
I forgot about this since it was such a very long time ago (I'm 49). But back when I was a little kid and had a slot car set my father showed me how to clean the contacts under the cars with a pencil eraser. Always made them run a little faster.

I didn't compete as an all natural bodybuilder, although everyone thought I did because of how hard I trained, and the strict bodybuilding diet I followed. But I was hardcore into the lifestyle, its consumed me for about 3-4yrs, it was my whole life. 160lb/14% bodyfat in the off season, and 135lb/9% bodyfat on season ... that is why everyone around me thought that I competed, I followed the same regime, with the same level of dedication that competing bodybuilders did. But I am like that, I do everything like its my job even when it isn't.
A pinched nerve in my shoulder put a end to it, I couldn't do any overhead presses

I was also using a Samsung when I shorted out w/my 3.1, but it didn't damage the battery like you said. Let it cool down, later popped on the charger, and it performs just the same. Glad you are back in business Burnie ;-)Burnie I feel so proud That right there is how you shoot good porn!

Paragon mod turned up today, ordered on the 14th, so received in 9 days total
Ordered this for a work mod, and mainly picked this because of the recessed switch as use a holster at work and don't want to keep messing with a locking ring, and seems it will work well, it does have a locking ring, but the switch is recessed enough not to need it. Only been using for a hour, but so far I am happy with it

It is just vinyl, so it is smooth, but it was only $20, and has copper contacts, so hits will, I'm happy with it for the money spent, this wasn't purchased to be a show piece, in my job it will get beat up a bit, so we will see how the vinyl stands up, but if lasts 6 months, then got my money worths for sure

Im debating competing in Michigan for powerlifitng im in a strength phase right now and my totals are nuts for my weight class and judging the competition stats i got these boys in the dust. Ive always wanted to compete but i have buddys that do and a "Natural" show for men isn't natural what so ever seen it first hand.

I had several of his old training vids, every one of his Mr. Olympia competition vids, his big training book, and, and I was there at Madison Square Garden when he announced his retirement at the 98' Mr. Olympia .. DEVASTATING, I was seriously devastated! But not as devastated as I was when Anderson Silva lost to Chris Weidman for a second time in horrific fashion, I haven't watched a single UFC event since, but that's a different story
