I got one yesterday. Got it via ebay, shipped really quickly, from within the US. I haven't built it yet, or even cleaned it, just took it apart to make sure everything was intact. I'm concerned about the spring loaded posts too, but I'll give it a bash and see what happens. I aim to build a .8-1 Ohm dual coil. I'll post some photos of the various parts in a bit.

My Fogger V5 arrived today! and here is my opinion.... Ordered from 123 vapes off fleabay thursday night received sat and opened it sat night. Not bad..

First off let me say its been a long night messing with it and its late so excuse my post if it's a little sloppy.

The box that it came in has the v3 packaging look but same type of box as the 4.1 it even had instuctions lol. Came with replacement o-rings for everything and also extra positive block and positive post insulators which is nice.

The machining is actually very nice and all the threads are smooth and clean. One Big plus for me was the deck was not coated with pvd plating which always makes me feel better. It also came very clean without machine oil everywhere.

I was told by a yi loong rep the air holes would be 2.4mm but thats not the case. They are 1.6 give or take .1

The delrin isulator that was stated to be for the afc ring is more like a rubber plug that has a hole drilled shallow and shoved in. Not what i expected but does work and holds the ring in place very well.

Continued......sorry keeps saying i can only upload 5 pics at a time.

Scrubbed down and ready to build. Few more pieces as you can see.

So on to the spring post this is where things got interesting

I built it with 28g 7 wrap around 3mm and everything was good. Well not really!!!!!!
IMG_1290.jpg

After i built it and snipped the leads I threw it on the mod and fired it up not too bad but ive built this type of setup and it wasnt right. So i threw it on the ohm meter and sure enough it was reading 1.0-4.6. I knew something was up and usually it does that crap when the leads arent tight enough. I knew the biggest fault of the v5 was going to be those stupid spring posts. After 45 miniutes and alot of frustration trying to figure where to go from there hoping not to have to break out the tap and die set I took the coils off and started messing with sping post.

Ahhhhh they unscrew!!!!!! Then i remembered in that extra bag of goodies yi loong sent with the fogger there were two screws and it clicked in my head that those have to be for the post and yesss siiiir they were. I put the screws in and built some new coils with 28g 7 wrap but this time around 2mm which came out to .5ohm little low but i knew i was home free.

Ok the chimney and deck are as far as I can tell the same as the 4.1 so I wicked it as such. Filled it with juice and took a well deserved vape 3hrs later lol.
IMG_1295.jpgIMG_1297.jpg

Pros....
Top fill is awesome
Nice machining better than my 4.3 and 4.1
came with lots of spare parts
airflow control ring is a definite improvement
Post holes are great once I used the supplied screws instead of the stupid spring posts.
Of course it can chuck some vapor

Cons....
Spring post are junk and wasted my time should have known better but had to try. (Use provided screws)
airflow seems better than 4.1 not as good as 4.3

Overall.....
I think the v5 overall is better than I expected and love the new improvements yi loong made over the v4's. Similar vaping experience to the 4.1 with a few upgrades and little better airflow although I do like it much better than the 4.1. Im a big fan of the 4.3 and wish I could combine the v5 and v3. With the v5 built at .5 it does blow some awesome clouds (smooth tooo) Im vaping 12mg 100%vg starpuffs VVV LOVE IT.

Hope you enjoyed my review of the V5. Time to take a vape and crash.

Spring loaded post in my case did not work out very well.

I've been waiting for this, got one ordered. Hope the spring posts work out well for me. I love they went for a tool-less design, top fill with vent hole and tightened the airflow control ring. Glad the machine quality is good. That addresses all the improvements I wanted to see for the V4. Kudos to Yi-Loong. I use needle tip bottles exclusively, so no issue for me there.

Top fill would be good if the holes were large enough to allow for more than a syringe. With the VG heavy e-liquid I like between finding a syringe, filling it and then filling up the Fogger, I'm sure it'd be quicker to unscrew, turn over and remove bottom fill screw and fill my Fogger V4.

Hey bsop, I'll let you know when I get it, but try the needle bottles if you haven't, remember I use 100% VG. I use them on all my foggers, kayfun, Kaisers, wifes nautilus etc. Not as fast a fill as a drop tip bottle but a whole lot faster and easier than a syringe and helps prevent flooding on top fills. I think this will be similar to the screw top fill mod for the kayfun which I adore.

I wish the fill hole was bigger thats for sure. Kind of a pita to transfer juice from one bottle to another. I also vape 100% vg and it definitely takes me longer to fill then the previous versions. I have filled it 4 times since the build and so far everytime it has leaked through the air holes still gotta figure that out. It doesn't leak after i take a few fat puffs to clear the airflow holes. No dry hits/ No leaking other than when filling.

Thanks for the detailed review, dynoman2002. The V5 looks like it's a significant improvement over the V4. Not sure if I should go for the SS or black version. Does the black paint cover the threads on the 510? The one thing I wasn't sure about was the spring posts, but I'm really happy that they chose to include the screws as an alternative.

Thanks stanthemanchan!
The pvd coating does cover the 510. If assume your worried about voltage drop, in my case I haven't noticed a difference between my ss but mine is built at .5 producing some great clouds. I would think if you're planning on going with a super low resistance I could see why that would concern you but on a moderate build I dont think it's an issue.
