For what it's worth...

I'm totally anti-tobacco and truly believe the nearly effortless switch to vaping years ago has saved my life. Yet, I recently spoke with one of my doctors, a lung specialist who told me that hot oil “cooks” your lungs. “Smoking cigarettes kills you slowly, vaping kills you quicker” he said. So, for what it’s worth, I think this is something people should know about.

Hi and welcome,
Your doctor seems to be confused about what is actually in e-liquid.
Perhaps instead of doing a drive-by, you should spend the time and effort finding a proper physician. Hope you have better luck than last time.

Logically, you probably do not want to inhale "hot oil".
Fortunately, your doc has proven only that he doesn't know ANYTHING about vaping, and should S-T-F-U until he maybe gets some actual information.

FWIW, Vaping (and not smoking) for 11 years now and no sign of lung deterioration, shortness of breath, or decrease in lung function. Several x-rays and CT scans over the last few years show clear lungs at the doctor's office. I monitor my oxygen levels during my stationary bike rides at 80% resistance and two different finger tip O2 meters show me at 98%-99% oxygen saturation right after pedaling 6 miles. Nothing has changed in my readings and I don't get winded while walking.

That said, there are several varieties of flavors (Cinnamon is one) that can cause lung damage, but the medical articles don't usually point out flavors that shouldn't be vaped. The medical profession seems to rate Ecigs as equivalent to smoking and we all know that's not true.

Oh dear ... this sounds even worse than the Rubber Teeth and Terminal Farteritis Syndrome ... but umm errr isn't PG used as an antibiotic and the propellant in some asthma relief sprays?

Even here in Dear Auld Scotia where we have been known to eat the odd deep fried Mars Bar or a deep fried Scotch Pie and chips to keep our chloresterol levels nice and high we haven't got round to vaping oil yet - not even our own North Sea Oil!

Smoking cigarettes doesn't kill you slowly. It increases your risk for some serious illnesses, including fatal ones.

Vaping nicotine or nicotine-free e-liquids made the way e-liquids are supposed to be made doesn't kill healthy adults.

Vaping improperly made, black market oils laced w/ THC has harmed & killed people. Ignorant and/or stupid people do that. You won't find people like that here.

Doctors who don't know their stuff kill lots of people.

But we're never going to hear from you again, are we, @BURT-100 ?

Hope he enjoys the money he got for posting.
Actually, no, i don't.

Surprise, it's me, I'm just telling you what the highly paid respiratory specialist had told me, and that you are wrong. Tobacco products impact every organ in the body, killing half a million people every year.

Vegetable Glycerin is an oil.

Dr. Jack-In-The-Box knows all about the respiratory system, let's take his advice, or maybe he should just .....

A drive-by? I'm looking at possibly having lung surgery after spending 10 days in the ICU. It takes 2 months just to schedule a follow-up because he's in such high demand... dum-dum.

You wore the uniform of a one time troll poster; Looks like a duck, quacks like a duck....

What did you hope to communicate or gain by joining a new community of strangers with which you have not earned a shred of credibility?

If you chose to directly quote your pulmonologist or oncologist, or thoracic surgeon: please post her actual diagnosis versus a "scary" anecdotal statement.

Hi BURT-100. Welcome to the ECF.

JSYK. This Isn't Reddit. Where people can come crashing in like the Kool-Aid Man spouting Hype and FUD. Because we have a Rule around here.

And that is... "Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Proof".

So if you want to Engage in an Adult Discussion about the Potential Harm that e-Cigarettes May or May Not Cause, or the Cost/Risk Benefits of using an e-Cigarette over Smoking, Great.

But if all you want to do is make Unsubstantiated Claims about how We All are going to Die Horribly and Troll Users, go back to Tobacco Free Kids or wherever you came from.

Your Message Doesn't ring true to a 65 Year Old who has used e-Cigarettes for over a Decade. And who averages 50+ Miles on a Bike weekly.

Yawn boring etc... Glycerine BPC is also used a a medicinal product in Scotland ... I note you have not commented on PG however.

Oh BTW I smoked for 50 years and am now 71 - I've vaped for the last 6.5 years and my lungs are now better than they were when I smoked and my early signs of hardening of the arteries have gone.

Again as we say in Scotland - "Aye there's aye yin!" ( "Yes there always has to be one!")

Sarcastic comment when someone bums his load in the local boozer and shouts, or tries to, the company down, inflicting his opinion in which no one is the least bit interested.)

The One usually finds himself on the banned list sine die.

Glad that i was wrong about you being a one-&-done poster. Welcome.

i wasn't wrong about tobacco products. Both impacting every organ and killing a 1/2 million/year are claims based on the misrepresentation of data. The information is available for those who choose to look. You should listen to your doctor, not to me. You should also do your research. So should doctors.
