I wrapped a 1ohm spaced coil on mine with 30ga kanthal with a cotton wick running at 12 watts. It dumps out tons of warm smooth vapor, but yea the flavor is a little muted. I use unflavored e-liquid so it's not that big of a deal, but I do notice it.

I've tried various coils and wicks and this is as good as I have made it perform. I do wish the airflow was a little looser. Mine is a kayfun Nano clone. I thought about drilling out the airhole, but I'm not sure if it would help since the center section where the air comes from can't be widened any.

ok. first, You're doing it WRONG! Why the hell would you use 30gauge? Second, don't used spaced coils they suck...compress your coil into a micro coil for the best vapor production! More surface area of your coil will give you much better vapor.

If you use unflavoured juice, how would you know if the flavour production is good or not? jesus.

The airflow is a bit of an issue for those of us who like to lung hit, but if you open your lips a little while inhaling you'll find much better results. If you mouth to lung, then the airflow is fine.

I've been using my authentic SvoeMesto Kayfun Lite Plus for about three months now. Like any juice attachment, there's a learning curve initially. After a couple of months use, it developed some leaking of juice from the side air hole. A top o-ring replacement solved this issue.

I was a die-hard cartotank user for over two years. My KFL+ is like a cartotank on steroids. Excellent flavor and decent vapor production. The draw is tighter than I prefer, but I'm spoiled by my drilled out RDA's.

28 ga single microcoil @ 1.3 - 1.5 ohms. I also use the cotton nest method of wicking. Air control screw removed.

I use 29ga myself, but mainly just because it's a little bit sturdier than 30ga, doesn't deform as easily when you pull a thick chunk of rayon thru it. But spaced coils do NOT suck; don't people don't want to incinerate their lips with heat, or use up a wick in one day. I use rayon, which is more resistant to heat than cotton by FAR, but it's still better with a spaced coil; concentrating the heat with a compressed coil really plays hell with wicks, and sends a lot of that heat up to the user's mouth.

Just because you prefer a scorching hot vape doesn't mean that others do, or that any alternative to that scorching heat "sucks" or that the alternative is "wrong."

I've had a LOT of issues with my nano clone too; I think a lot of the problems with it are just *because* it's so much smaller than a regular kayfun. The only way I've found to be able to use it and not scorch the wick is by using rayon. A rayon wick in a regular kayfun can last a week or more, but with the nano, even using rayon, it's only going to last 3-5 days before you start getting the burnt taste. But I think the spaced coil is by far the best way to do it for a nano, just because it prevents concentrating the heat so much.

And as I pointed out to the poster saying you're doing it "wrong," there's really no wrong, it's just what a user prefers, though a spaced coil does work better in a nano than a compressed one does -- at least in my experience -- but I do have to wonder, as he did, how you can tell the flavor is "muted" if you're vaping unflavored? There's no particular flavor there, so how is it "muted"?

First KAYFUN is a Generic term for several different versions of the Kayfun line of atomizers. Did you ever state which one? Maybe I missed that.

Second What are you using, comparing to that you feel is a good system? You may be attempting to compare apples to Fillet Minion.
If you cannot cook, stick to the apples.

Third, does not matter how long you have been tinkering with the Kayfun. If you don't understand what it does, how it does it and what is required to make it work properly, it will never be right.

If you are coming from Clearomizers a Kayfun is generally a good step up.
If you always use drippers a Kayfun may seem like a step back.

How does squeezing your coils together give you more surface area?

Do you even unflavored  Regardless of the name it does have a flavor.

I have a Kafun lite, a Kayfun lite plus and 3 Russian 91% and love them. 28g, 7-8 wrap on 2mm screwdriver works the best for me. approx. 1.3 ohms
I got my wife one of the last Kayfun mini's they made and had to get her some clones because she liked the original so much. Ended up having to replace all the screws in the clones with the ones out of my KFL's to get them to work right. The air flow screw in the clones was so long that it blocked the air unless it was hanging out the side. I'd say 1/3 longer than the real one. The coil screws were cheep and to small. They work ok now though.

The way I see it, your using a heavier wire (lower resistance) and have say 7 wraps v 4-5 wraps on an open coil. An open coil might heat up faster but I get a much better vape from a tight micro coil. I have tried it both ways!!!

The wicking is the most important part.

I agree, it really is, and it's also the hardest part -- trying to always get exactly the "right amount" is unbelievably difficult, and I guess it's really just a matter of experience; once you do get the "right amount" enough times, I guess you just *know* if it's right when you pull it off the bigger bundle.

I have an authentic kfl+ and two kfl+ black edition clones. They all suffer from the same problem for me. Air flow is way too tight. Especially after experiencing the wide open flow of drippers, it feels even worse now. I do get used to it somewhat if i use my kayfuns for an extended period of time. But it feels like drinking a thick milkshake through a straw. I removed the airflow adjustment screw, it's pointless. I finally mastered how to fill it and prime it without getting any leaks so thats a plus. Got the wicking down pretty good as well. I've tried different gauge kanthal and i keep going back to 28g micro coil, about 7 or 8 wraps right around 1.5 ohms +/-. 26g is too thick and the tiny round bottom screws are a ..... to tighten over the 26g.

I found a guy on instagram who modifies kayfun's for wider, more open air flow. His videos show him blowing pretty decent sized clouds. I reached out to him and he offers pre-modified kayfun clones (full size 3.1 or kfl+), or you can send yours to him and he'll modify and send it back. his name on instagram is 528_custom_vapes or you can email him for pricing info custom528@yahoo.com. I'm not affiliated with him or his company, just thought i'd share the info I found. Not sure if he's on the forums or not.

AndriaD, did you watch the video? The wicking in that video is different than I've done it before. You'll think it's wayyyy too much cotton BUT it works great. You have to do it just like the video though. It took me a few times but once I got it. WOW!

I saw this video a few weeks ago and I tried his method, my results were horrible. Gnarly dry hit, coughed up a lung lol. Granted I only tried once and gave up because I was running low on juice. I'm going to have to try again until I get it right.
