Hi everyone.

Today is my first day ever vaping. I am not a former smoker, though I have smoked a bit here, and there including 60 in the last 2 months, I somehow never got addicted to nicotine.

A couple months ago, I passed by someone on my bicycle just as they exhaled a cloud of vape, and it really smelled great, and I imagined it'd taste great too. Though, at that time I was under the impression that all vapes contained nicotine, and because of that I knew it's best to not vape at all.

However I have recently learnt that there are nicotine free, 0mg nic, etc juices out there which do not contain nicotine.

Today I went to a vape store, told them I wanted to try vaping, but with no nicotine.

I got this smok Novo, and a 30ml bottle of U-Turn Vanilla Mint Nicotine Free.

Came to just under $40 Canadian, in total with the tax.

and lo and behold it vapes great, and the flavor is amazing, definitely nothing like cigarettes, it's actually a pleasure to "smoke".

Definitely going to try a few other flavors, and try around, this is something that can grow on me, as long as I stay with 0 nicotine juices.

As a noobie, I am surely going to be having lots of questions, but for now I just have 2.

Since this is a refillable pod system:

1. How many times on average can pods be refilled? (I am currently on the second fill of one pod, and it tastes all good right now, I also think the man at the store only poured in a little of the juice, not a full fill either for the first fill).

2. How much juice to pour in? Like 80% of it, until only a very small portion of the pod is not filled with liquid?

Thanks in advance, and Hi.

land of pleasant living
welcome!
I leave a little bit of space so I'm not pushing juice into the coil and I think you will know when to change the coil when it's not tasting too good anymore. Be sure to let it soak in the juice for a bit before you fire a new coil too. I like the little smok pods, the little rubber plug can be a pain when they are new though.

As long as the coil lasts and tastes good. That depends on the type of juice you are using, how dark and how sweet it is. The darker and the sweeter your juice the faster your coils get gunked up.

If your main concern is to increase coil longevity to save money, then limit yourself to light colored juice that aren't too sweet.

@Twiggy1995, if smoke is coming off a vape it's on fire.

    Which isn't good.

It's vapour you're getting now, which is produced by heating and vaporization.

And here's some gear that may be of interest in the future for you, and with forum help you can find good deals as well.

    Freemax Autopod50

    Freemax Maxpod

Freemax Twister 30W (variable wattage kit with Fireluke 22 tank)

Depends on the eliquid--if it's sweet, dark, or heavily flavored, you'll have to replace you coil more often, as soon as it begins to taste off or vapor production diminishes.

Don't overfill. 85-90% of tank capacity should be fine. And don't wait till it's empty to refill, you may damage the coil.

Generally the only thing that belongs in your lungs is fresh air

    Really?

    Preaching on a vape forum?

We are all adults here (or at least should be) and know what we are doing.

I smoke weed too occasionally, I would vape weed, but distillate is very expensive, and flower is too weak for me in a herbal vape format, I need to either smoke a lot, or use some really strong and expensive stuff lol. However the main difference for me is that weed is one of, if not the least addictive substances out there, even alcohol is more addictive, and I've been drinking alcohol responsibly in moderation for years, without issue.

(I live in Canada, it's legal nation wide, so nothing incriminating here).

Nicotine on the other hand, is highly addictive, and I know many people who have recovered from hard drug addictions, that have still not recovered from nicotine addictions. That's why when I learned there's 0 nic juices, I decided to try vaping as a significantly less harmful, but most importantly non-addictive alternative to the occasional smoking I enjoyed.

Nicotine on its own Is actually a very easy habit to kick. The additives they add to tobacco products is what is so hard to give up. One of the reasons vaping helps is you get to keep the visual and tactile habits of smoking.

true, I did hear that nicotine itself is not that highly addictive, but rather combined with other things in tobacco is what makes it that addictive.

none the less, 0 nic is always best of course.

Explain to me how what I said is preaching. I was merely a stating a fact.

but why would you state that fact as a reply in this thread, though?

I clearly said I enjoy smoking, and now vaping, and I said it's significantly less harmful, not completely harmless, there is a difference.

I just find it very annoying when people constantly tell others things, especially adults, that they obviously already know, like "ok, thanks Capitan obvious".

At least now we know what one of my pet peeves are, telling people, especially adults, the obvious.

    Lesson #1
Never assume a person on this forum is an adult.

Fair point, I used to lie about my age to get on porn sites all the time, back in the day lol.

Didn't expect to get into an argument on my intro thread, but that totally needless reply just annoyed the hell out of me.

That's just Sonic, he keeps us honest by stating the obvious. You'll get used to it and likely get around to finding it amusing. The way his mind works is somewhat fascinating at times.
