ABS, do you know when the KF appeared, please? And do you know when you started vaping? ;)
I started in 2011. I think the kayfun came around in 2012/2013. Up to that point, I was all carto tanks with the occasional Vivi Nova....

I started vaping in early July 2013, my game changer was the IGO-L dripping atomizer, it is what I learnt to build on, and I still use them to this day. Next game changer was the Lavatube, it was way better than my Steel Jan inspired Altoids tin box mod. Then of course, it all changed when I got a ProVari... but I digress

of course, I punch them air holes out a bit :)

@ENAUD - Your signature made me laugh. I smoked 42 years and that what I tell everyone that "I never intended to quit smoking it just happened by accident." When I got into vaping after a 50 cigarette a day habit, I thought if I could get down to five smokes a day for the rest of my life I would be happy. I did much better than that.

Add me to the accidental kwitters list, boyz. Not only did I not intend to, I never even wanted to.

I started vaping to prove it wrong. "A BATTERY is going to keep me from smoking? RIGHT!"

Ahh, yes, that sounds accurate. I had a few flings with the Vivi Novas, too. Good times!

I really need to know how to do that hole punch thing! I have a bunch of the Igo-Ls I would like to use, but the air hole is a tad bit too small, even for myself, a tootle puffer. Share, please?

WHAT piece of vape gear was a GAME CHANGER for you?

This might be a fun thread for a day or three. ;)

  • Please just post the year you started vaping
  • any piece of vape gear you deem to be a "GAME CHANGER"
  • the year it emerged onto our scene

This isn't a poll, nor will there be any tallies. You don't even have to say WHY it was a game changer, but ya can if you'd like to.

This is all just fer fun!!!! But do feel free to post more than once. And pictures are MORE than welcome. :D

You don't have to tag a friend, but that could be fun too!!!

(oh, you who. @DPLongo22 )

3PC 5 1/2-Inch Needle File Set Cut 2 needle files will do the trick, only takes a few minutes of spinning them back and forth with your fingers...if you have a hobby store or and arts and craft store near you, you might be able to buy a single one, I like the triangle needle files myself...

Ha, I remember seeing a dozen links or so a day for Hobby Lobby and Michaels'. Hardware and crafts stores were the closest thing to a vape shop for awhile there.

I need to confess. It was my daughter that took me to that vape shop (she was about 26-27 years old then) and was showing me all the cool stuff there (later she told me that she had visited that shop prior to my arrival at her home in Kentucky, from my home in Minnesota for a visit). Anyways, she and the clerk were showing me these Spinner II's and EVOD2's, and even had me try some different juices that they had. I walked out the door with over $150 of new vape gear (2 Spinner II's and 2 EVOD2's and some replacement coils and juice). When I walked in the shop, I had a half pack of smokes in my pocket, and I still have that same half pack of smokes up in my closet right now. I too had no inclination to stop smoking, I was just gonna humor her before I said "Thanks, but No Thanks Honey". Funny how life has it's twists and turns, and God Bless my youngest daughter.

Just Me, I have to apologize. It was NOT a girlie thingamajig I used. It was in fact a triangle file! I got a set of those lovely little files (thank you, Bestie) and the triangle one is the perfection for Igo-L ENAUD punched holes!

    Thank you, E!

It was when I was using my Spinner II's and EVOD2's that I first learned to re-build, and that was about 2 months after first starting to vape. Re-building a coil was a game changer for me also in those little EVOD's. A Rip Trippers video showed me how to do that.
