Love the history lessons!

Like so many of you, I discovered "e-cigarettes" back in the day (2010). And, like so many of you, those little cig-a-likes just were insufficient. I had my drive to work timed that I could smoke two cigarettes from door to door. One cig-a-like wouldn't even last to get me to work!

Game changer finally came in 2014 (after watching my Uncle die from lung cancer the summer before) was the Volcano Inferno and refillable clearos.

Since then, other changers have included PT2 tanks, rebuilding, and squonkers.

And ECF and my friends and mentors here

The game changer for me was the concept of a Stainless Steel wick in a Genisis atomizer with unflavored juice. It took a bit of tinkering to work out the kinks but it is still my game today. I can go for months on the same coil and much longer on the wick. I've tried many styles of vaping (boxes of stuff) but for me nothing beats the ease of my Genisis.

For me the game changer was cotton wicking. I used Kanger T3s, Evods and Protanks with silica wicks for about 2 1/2 years. I was continuously fiddling with the wicks to fix flooding or dry hits. When I finally switched to cotton, all those problems disappeared. I guess that was is 2015. People here had been talking about using cotton wick for quite a while, but I'm kinda hard-headed about trying something new.

I used Kayfuns for a couple years, but now I'm using Joyetech Ego Ones with CLR coils. Rebuilding them is really similar to Protank coils, except that everything is bigger and easier to do.

You seem to have had a pretty rough go at this vaping thing @Ladiekali, but koodos for hanging in there still trying to "Get'er'done". Yours is just one story that shows how hard it is for some to get off of Tobacco. Some of us either Like, or Need, tobacco so much that it takes a certain type of vape to get it accomplished. I salute your "stay-to-it-aveness" in this journey, it looks to have been a rough one indeed for you. Looks like you don't quit easily when you have your mind set on doing something.

thanks so much for this comment. I've tried so hard. My husband who is not a smoker or vaper, says he doesn't understand why i keep trying. I'm giving this all i got. And i think each cigarette i don't smoke is still a success. At first i didn't try sub ohm tanks because i didn't want to be a cloud chaser.. but i'm having better luck.
And my juices taste better. So here's to never giving up

Man, with all the talk here about the Eggroll tanks I think I might need to give it a shot!

I know right??

I have one in the zombie box I haven't used in years I may have to dig out. Not sure I have any coils though. Well knowing me I prolly have 500 somewhere so what I'm saying is I may not be able to find any and I don't feel like driving to Rome tonight.

WoW !! 3 pages in no time flat. Kat sure knows how to throw a party don't she ?? Plenty of entertainment here.
Yes, she certainly does!

I would come on this forum and get soooo freakin' confused! You weirdos were saying words like refillable, clearomizer, EGO, carto, etc. I left, but eventually came back and just started googling every single term I didn't recognize.
I benefited from ECF indirectly at first. Thankfully, my brother did the initial research. Then I just bought whatever he did for the first few months. I would have been so overwhelmed if I had done it by myself!

I didn't start posting on ECF until I got desperate. What my brother and I had been using was no longer working for me.

Let's see. Game changers, huh?

The first game changer was the 306 on an eGo. Good flavor and good battery life. Until I got a couple of bad batches of 306's. If I had discovered Vapage hybrid atomizers back then, I never would have moved on to other stuff. I would have just kept drip, drip, dripping away.

The next game changer was the carto-tank. Flavor just couldn't get any better. That would have been the end of it, if it weren't for quality control issues. I had bought various RBAs in order to prepare for Vapocalypse, but never used them. Until cartomizer quality control finally got to me.

The eGo Twist was a game changer for a little while. Cheap, smallish VV was nice. But, by then I was tending to use fatter toppers that just didn't match.

Then came the next 2 game changers, the KFL and the Provari. The KFL gave flavor like a carto-tank with QC in my own hands. And, I discovered the Provari about the same time. I had tried a couple of VV mods. Just enough to know that the quality of Provari was absolutely necessary.

The next/last 2 game changers came about the same time also. The Pico and the Eggroll with CLR coils. The Pico for a lot of battery in a small package and VW so I could be lazy. The CLR coils are the first clearo coils that I've ever really, really liked. I find myself using them as much as or more often than my Kayfuns.

Here, JUMA. You might find this interesting. ( )

For me, that's easy.
The game changer was when someone came up with the idea of putting a cartomizer in a tank.

But man! Would you ever laugh at some of my early attempts at making a tank!

:D Uh huh! I remember the syringe and bottle modded tanks!

YOU DON'T HAVE ONE? (Yet?) :D :D :D

Admittedly, me as well, DH!

Have never seen those before. Looks like a cool science experiment. Loving this thread. Thanks Kat!

Loads and loads of "cool" stuff that was "invented" due to necessity in the old threads here. After rebuilding the joyetech 501 attys everything after has been a piece of cake.

Looks like mine didn't survive a purge. Which is odd cause it don't look like I'm much of a purger. Must be at least 50 atomizers still new in the box.

Did find a Isub and a new TC coil. As I recall I liked that tank as well. Gonna throw that on a SX Mini M class.

Given I got a big BF flavoring order in yesterday and made 800ml of samples I need every swinging........,er,......mod yeah thats it every swinging mod in the field.

Have cruised thru a few of those. I would never have made it with vaping back then. Sometimes when I'm loading up my gear for work I start grumbling, then I remember what some had to carry back in the beginning. Using stone wicks was particularly interesting.

Maybe not in the true spirit of this post, but to me it's EPIC.

Today I ordered a stainless Dead Rabbit with Vader's helmet on it (my avatar here)!

Merry freaking Xmas!
Would to see the happy dance when that's delivered.

Started with the eGo Twist and the cartridges. Game changer for me was finding the Genuine Vivi Nova. When I got the Nova, I finally quit those last cigarettes.

After all the scare over the FDA, I decided that I needed something that would last for a LONG time and didn't need new premade coils, I got the KFL+. Learned how to build my own coils. Still hate doing that. New game changer is back to buying premade with the Kabuki.

I didn't want to splurge on the ProVari when I didn't even think that vaping would actually work to stop smoking. After I totally went all vape, that is when I purchased my first ProVari. The longevity is what really drew me to it. That and just rotating batteries instead of losing the device when it needed charging like the twist did.

Now I am in my happy place. I am not one to keep trying things. I wait till the new is on the market for a long time and read what real people have as their experiences with said device. That is how I knew that people were having problems with clones of the vivi nova and the Genuine did not give people so many problems.

I learned its quirks and learned how to problem solve. Each topper has its own quirks. Just have to learn how to deal them as they crop up.

One thing I love about the Kabuki, there doesn't seem to be any quirks! :D

My progression so far:

eGo twist
ProVari

Cartridges
Vivi Nova
KFL+
Kabuki

Just a simple girl. ;)

For me is was the Kangertech Subtank Mini, it is the first and only tank I ever pre-ordered, well technically I had a shop pre-order it for me.

Before the Subtank mini I was using iClears and a Genitank on a Kangertech iPow 2, vaping had worked for me before that, I already quit for a 4 or so months but I was struggling I kept craving real cigs but fought them off.. Finally I get the call that it's in, set it up and from the first puff of 12mg on the 1.2ohm coil I knew right there and then I would never smoke again. I also knew I had to lower my nic -_- When the 1.2 ohm coil died unfortunately the iPow2 couldn't fire below 1.0 ohms so I upgraded my mod and WOAH it even got better, I finally found my home in SubOhm and have pretty much been there ever since.

FYI the original RBA sucked badly..

Edit* Found this pic of the Genitank/iPow setup.

and here's the second subtank mini I bought on the Cloupor Plus 50w I won here on ECF oh so long ago.

What's even more a happy coincidence is it's my exact avatar from here. Ooooooo.

I'd film the dance, but I haven't done it in years, bit rusty

Yes, the early days saw many of us inside stores we never would have visited without taking up vaping, the live fish store for sure was an odd one for me.
