Interesting, two such widely differing views on the Vandy vape Pulse ... perhaps referring to different versions???

In the UK the mech box variety with an attie comes in anywhere between £29.00 - £36.00 depending how reliable a dealer is offering it.

When I get an attie included with a kit I usually bin the attie or give it away, as to me there is simply nothing that could beat the Origen Little for the style of vaping I do - so much do I value these that my Masterplan is to aquire 5 clones of them ( the original Origens are sadly now out of production for my stash when I get back to the UK in June.

The 80w is terrible in bypass mode and from what I’ve heard the mech Pulse (like $20/30) isn’t much better but as far as regulated squonks go I’m a Pulse 80w fan.

Old Confused of Terridom here think's he'll just have to bite the bullet and buy a Reo Grand at the end of the day!
I really liked the Mech version of the pulse. Super reliable and a decent safety switch. The geekvape Athena takes the award for best mass produced mech squonk for me falc. Very compact, solid well made metal construction, great safety switch and it hits hard. Like you I'm more small rda. If you use the origen for mtl. try the strike clone (originals are impossible to find and to be honest exactly the same as the clone). You can get the Athena from under $10 from some of the Chinese sites currently which is a steal as they're still £60+ in vape shops here.

A 4000mah Sanyo on a .4 build at 52w lasts me a day and a half. I do agree it’s pricey but battery life and function have been excellent for me.

Put that same battery and build in another mod, run it at the same wattage, and I'd bet you good money you'd get 3 days usage. It was that bad for me. :)

Topside with the same battery lasts half a day so it sounds like my Pulse 80w wins.

There must have been bad batches as I wasn't the only one to complain (I had one of the first) or they fixed the chip in later runs. I was going through 2 3000mah batteries plus a chunk of another under nearly the same conditions as yours in less than 24 hours. On my other mods, 1 battery would have been enough.

That sounds about right. Mine works best in bypass mode with a 30T, just change the battery when you refill the tank ha ha. I love everything about the Topside except how it functions in VW mode, I’d send it back but I’ve heard Dovpo’s CS isn’t the best.

I kind wish I still had mine, honestly. All I’ve got are a few bits and pieces. Mostly so I can compare it to the modern stuff. I got a theory that with a high nic unprotonated juice it will vape about like a “modern” pod.
Convenience store types yes, but a lot of them are like the old clearomizers and vw mods but much much better. Many are around 8~12W and don't flood or spit. I am in love with my Geekvape Flint, I am not sure if it is really considered a pod but it is designed for high nic mtl and can be used with rebuildable attys as long as you build over .8. The aspire pods use Nautilus coils. Salts and pod mods are bringing about a lot of advances in mtl gear, an area that has been neglected for years. I think there will be much more to come. It got me and many others back into that style of vaping for the first time in a long time.
