+1 Mr. Q :thumb:

Re-built the GEM II w/317L SS 28ga, 7/6 wrap on 3/32" (2.38mm) I.D. yielding @ 0.6 Ohms (GEM II must add about 0.08 in residual Resistance). Tested several Wattages and finally settled on 17W w/AFC open about 33%.
WOW! Very Tasty :D Awesome Flavor, perfect Warmth, and great Vapor Mass.
Think I'll leave the Erl K Ti-built and run it in TC on the WAEII 40 and the GEM II 430 SS and run in VW.
She was real "Good" in Ti TC but she Kicks A in SS VW.

I can now attest that the WAEII 40 (as the dna 40 chipset is set up for it & MBP) does not automatically shunt off TC to VW with a 430 SS Build. Had to run the Temp up past Max to manually flip that switch (Thanks again for the Memory-Slap Steve ).
Most welcome sir. I was surprised i remebered how to do it to be honest...lol! The good ol' DNA40 chip is less than...err..perfect i fear but still good nonetheless!

All the hostility lately (and I mean both sides)...

BTT:
Are there some special tricks when it comes to wicking? I'm using 50/50 juice exclusively and I can't get the initial gurgling after a topfill to stop. It's most of the time fine after that, but it's probably just a matter of time when that gurgling results into some flooding.

I get that sometimes and when it happens I just blow into the air hole and it clears it up.

Remember brother, my response was short (one-liner), decent and explicitly civil.

Agreed my Friend :thumb:
Class with Dignity as always.

Now,,, back to the discussion of these truly magnificent MBP Works of Art.

I get no gurgling but use 70/30 or 80/20 (VG/PG) so may just be due to thinner viscosity I suppose.

I use 100% PG in mine is very thin so I expect some gurgling at times but it's just a little after refilling only.

The blowing through the Air holes works but the bigger thing is the Gem is telling you that there is not enough Wick in the Coil, so next empty tank fix it. And of course enjoy. :)

Should the wick cover the holes in the chamber?
I've found it best to have the ends of the Wick resting in the end of the Chamber. And a slow drag on the Wick as it passes through the Coil. I use Rayon on the GEM II by the way. I also juice the middle of the Wick as I pass it through. And it has truly been a GEM.
But at this juncture it's difficult for me to tell which Atty delivers the best Flavor; as "Q" recently put it when mentioning my collection. "It's subtle differences and no more, but all good flavor Atty's." Paraphrased of course,. I have a Tilemahos v2Plus, Ithaka with upgrade, GEM II, KFM v3, & KF v4. Always a very satisfying Vape though. But all Wicking makes or breaks your experience.
Enjoy the journey:):smokie:

Nope. Cut the Wick even with the Deck Sides as it lays horizontally in the Deck Trough. Then tuck the lower 1/3 of the Wick material (I use OG Cotton) downward into the vertical Deck Channel toward the bottom of the Deck. The Wick material shouldn't completely fill that vertical Trough or be tightly packed. It should loosely fill about half that vertical area. I don't even let it touch the bottom end of that Trough but trim it to where the Wick material terminates about 1/32" prior to. Enough to grab and draw into the horizontal main Wick & Coil as well as prevent Flooding but not so much as to stifle Juice flow into the Chimney/Chamber and choke or Dry-Hit. It sounds a ton lot more complicated than it really is.

Qorax's Vid announcing the GEM II (posted little over a month ago) shows that Wicking Technique quite well as usual. If my written explanation is a tad "muddy", check that out and it will become crystal.

Hmm, wow!
1. That was not a signature,
2. This is:

And the above one seems to be appropriate.
B'coz it has been floating around in all authentic threads since over one year.
