Ok, so you're trying to build your own version of the xvostick? If it were me, I'd probably just sell the wizard to cover the cost of the xvostick. I realize though that takes the fun out of modding it yourself. ;)

Btw, is the Wizard Evolved any more difficult to upgrade to a DNA40 than the WAE? Seems to me like it entails about the same issues.
It's about the same. The only difference is that the WAEII has threaded rings to hold the chipset in.

A lot of people just don't like box mods. Aside from the Dicodes 2380 i haven't seen any good regulated tube mods with TC. If Dicodes and Provari can make a good regulated tube with all three battery sizes i don't see why it can't be done with the WAE. Especially since the Dicodes is all three sizes with TC (of course you have to use the right wire in TC w/18350). I don't even need TC on the WAE, i'd be happy with just the different battery size options and i'm guessing i'm not alone on this. If cost is a concern, offer the tubes separately instead of with the mod.

I wish Mark would just offer 18500 tubes for the WAE II, they would sell like hot cakes.

When I got the WAE II it was the perfect small regulated solution for me. I now find myself using smaller box mods instead. The increase in girth is a happy trade off for less height. With an 18500 the WAE II would be my daily carrier again.

My daily carries are one mech (in 18350 or 18500) and either the Provari or Dicodes in 18350 mode only. I would love to be able to add a 18500 or 18350 WAE in that rotation. I broke down and bought a WAE II anyway to go with one of the two GEMS i bought, but given the height it will probably never leave my house. Maybe on long road trips in the car i'd use it but as a daily carry in my front pocket it's just not going to happen.

Smaller box mods are efficient with space but i've just never been a fan of box mods. Not sure why, they just don't appeal to me.

The waeii is the shortest dna, 18650, tube mod out there. Paired with the gem, it is even smaller.
I also wanted an 18500 wae and I had to find one used from some random person in a Facebook group. I have my 18500 wae now and I'm happy but I still want to see those options as there is a rather large demand for them.

yeah man mark has really maximized space with this thing, pretty ingenious design, can't get much smaller. I find myself switching back and forth between 18500 & 18650, I like the smaller size of the 500 but like the more than double run time of the 650 so that's why I want to do the 18650 in a side by side, shorter than the 500 but much more run time, best of both worlds. it will be even smaller and shorter than the xvostick with the gem hybrided to it. the xvostick doesn't really do it for me

What?
Will the wait for the 2nd batch be long? I still have to sleep on this :D

The second batch, which will be made of Titanium (no word on another batch of SS GEMs) is gonna take 2-3 months according to Mark.

Deem. SS now or Ti later. Decisions, decisions.. About to put it on a Ti mod, you know.
Can someone give the weight of an empty GEM?

so, stupid question, is everyone totally satisfied with the juice feed on this thing? I'm still finding it to be a little on the dry side... maybe it's because I run straight vg, take light pulls and always run the afc wide open, it's not like a dry hit but it's not fully saturated either.I've played with wicking and although wicking can in a sense kind of adjust juice flow, even very sparsely wicked I'm always leaning slightly towards drier than fully saturated

I'm comparing to either bottom feeding where the wick is always fully saturated and also comparing to the rose which I still think has the best juice flow control and gives a fully saturated vape with no flooding... I'm finding myself doing primer puffs again like back in the old kayfun days and I already opened up the feed holes a bit in the gem, going to open them a little more tonight but am I really the only one seeing this? I'm not complaining and I still love the gem to death and want more but is no one else seeing anything like this?
