My spare tank on one of the GEMs is the same way...I tried it out and it actually does manage to seal, but it's hard to screw the top cap down because it's a little angled, not level.

I'll contact MB about a proper spare tank, but Qorax, any updates on those spares packets or whatever?

I think someone mentioned this but my spare glass tank is, not to put too fine a point on it, garbage! I just had a look the other day out of curiosity as I havent done anything other than use the stock
tank so far. Both ends are very...errr... featured. Its neithe flat nor level. I sincerely doubt it will seal at all given the o-ringless GEM design :(

Yeah, my 2ng glass tank isn't perfect too. Doesn't leak, but nevertheless..

Put the spare glass tank on. I read somewhere here, that one user had a leaking spare or something like that. Mine isn't leaking, but it has an imperfection on one of the edges, a small bump, a bulge, thus the top cap and driptip aren't sitting straight, but are in a narrow angle to the tank. No biggie, just saying.
Still waiting on those spares to pop up at Mark's site:)

I knew someone had a problem with the spare tank and from @raitizz post, it seems at least one other person too. Mine is even worse than this I think though...

edit: missed the @dems86 post. Seems like dodgy spare tanks are not uncommon (to use the british predilection for the double negative..)

I am still in the collection phase over a few forums. I'll leave it open till this week and pass on the total requirement to MB by the weekend.

Hi Q,

if there are a decent number of people in UK wanting spares, you could mail them all to me and I could redistribute. Much cheaper for you and really not a big deal for me! Just an idea!

ps. Or MB could send me a package and i will send them on!

Thank you brother. As of now I only have one from the UK, but a boatload of them from other EU locales nonetheless :)

Thank you,

Here is the list of the larger O rings that the Gem uses:
Interior diameter x thickness
-8mm x 1mm Bottm of the deck
-13mm x 1mm Seals de deck
-15mm x 1mm Tank
Mark provided the info on the other thread. I ordered a lot of all the O ring sizes from the O-ring store in Idaho and the total came to about $15.00.

I also ordered replacement glass tubes from IBTanked. The size is 20x1.2x25.52 mm. You have to order a minimum of three on the custom cut tubes and they are $7.00 apiece. You can also get colored glass. I got three of them while I was ordering replacement glass for my Erl nanos. Both of my spares from Mark have the same issues others have mentioned, As a matter of fact the tube that I'm using on my Gems have defects on the ends of them but still work fine. I'm just waiting for Mark to start selling the screws and I'm good to go.

The cost of shipping towards you might be #@*!$ tho :(

Looks like shipping to LV is $6.00 for those 3 custom cut tubes. Not that bad.
Plus $21.00 for the tubes, makes $9.00 a piece.
I'll wait for @Planethead to report on the quality and fit.
