Its the not being able to get coils eventually that concerns me most. I'm fairly certain building and installing a coil is going to be a problem. She has mild cerebral palsy and very poor hand/eye coordination.

That's why I linked the 10 pack rba's, once every few months you can hook her up;)

My kids are Physically capable, but somehow I always have to do the actual upkeep :glare:

It would be much easier if I weren't 2 hours away.

And if I hadn't invested a small fortune recently in diy. Obviously I'll be seeing big savings soon,.but not just yet :D

But, yeah, it might be all on me to buy her gear and provide her with juice, and I'm on disability.

Seems there are an awful lot of us on ECF in the same boat. Just got approved for Disability myself. Right shoulder/arm/hand are pretty much kaput after an injury at work. Drs. said 4-6 weeks, almost 2 years ago.:(
Still struggle against the pain to do what I can, but the payback in happy kids seems worth it.:)

Wish you all the Best in working this out.

Anyone have any ideas for my disabled cousin? Stocking up would be hard for her. She gets a little money from Social Security and a part time job. And since she hasn't quit smoking (yet, if she does), she's still buying cigarettes. And I doubt my uncle will let her spend a bunch of money when she hasn't actually proven she can quit smoking.
Think she could handle priming? If you can teach her to prime a carto that wouldn't be a bad idea. Pretty simple but I have no idea how regulation might effect that if laws pass.

This SMOKtech ARO II eGo Clearo Single BCC 2.4ohm - Hot PINK [gv-ARO2eGoSingleBCC-PINK2.4] - $2.65 : GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more is the easiest topper I own. They use protank/evod coils. I have been using and enjoying them for well over a year now and have only had one that started leaking. I think I had a tank cracker juice in it (they are plastic) and it must have had a hairline crack in it. They are marked down to a steal of a price so it wouldn't cost her much to get a few of them. I have been rebuilding the coils for them and I'm no expert. I do it the easy way though. I buy these $2.83 Pre-Coiled Welded Wires w/ Wicks - NR-R-NR (50-Pack) 50-pack - 33 AWG / 1.8ohm / 4-wick at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping Maybe it would be possible for you to rebuild a bunch of them for her and all she would have to do is change them when needed.

since you are willing to supply her juice all she would have to do is keep her batteries charged. If she is able to use a box type battery holder maybe something like an istick 30. the problem I see there is the fact that it won't last forever so she may need to go with something with replaceable batteries. Being 2 hours away does make it hard to help but it is wonderful that you are willing to do what you can for her.

Oh God.....I can see it now. There you are, walking down a dark street when suddenly, a shady figure pops out of the alley and says, "Hey buddy....wanna by a mod?" He opens his trench coat and there are hundreds of mods stuck to the inside....
this sounds like one of my nightmares!!!!

I have chronic pancreatitis. I've probably had it for 11 years now since a gallstone got into the pancreatic duct. Just a freak thing that suddenly changed my life. I've been retired now for 6 1/2 years. Recently I've been developing all kinds of additional complications including things I didn't know would happen. Its scary.

That's possible. And again we are guessing here what's going to happen. I've never had a carto tank. Is there one you recommend? Probably should cover it in vape bands, too unless there are full SS ones?

Well, the more I think about it I'm thinking either cartos or dripping atmoizers (the bridgeless kind) might work.

If you go for cartos try to get quality cartos, the cheapo stuff you buy at places like fasttech have a very high fail rate. Last thing you want is to make her fustrated and have her guessing why she's getting burned hits. I would stick with boge medium resistance cartos places like surevapes have them and they're generally pretty cheap, even cheaper if you buy in bulk.

You could also try a bridgeless atomizer, I've had some last me a few years and still work, could help alot if said regulations should pass. You can get very high quality bridgeless atomizers from places like EmpireMods or Avid Vapor. A bridgeless atomizer she would only have to drip the liquid directly into the hole and vape. All of this stuff is also generally made between the 1-2ohm "tootlepuffer" range so no worries about batteries that's also a plus I think.

If you want the absolute simplest way I'd say a dripping atomizer (again the bridgeless type) something like this:

510

Also get a something called a Drip Shield from the same site, it helps if she overdrips instead of having it "pee" the ejuice out all over the mod it collects inside a second chamber that sits between the atomizer and the shield where she can suck the e-juice back into the atomizer on her next puff. These things don't get anymore simple, just remove the black piece you see on top screw it on your mod add 10-15 drops the first time to "prime" add the drip tip and pull on it. Add 4-6 drops every 5 or so pulls thereafter.

PS: Make sure if you try this to buy a sealed bottom atomizer unless you play to use a sqonker .

Here is what it looks like with a shield and a tip:

Or just the plastic ones from Smoktech; I have a few of their UDCTs, the tank part is plastic and seems pretty hardy; much moreso than glass. those are good ones to protect you from yourself, since you have to unscrew the ring at the bottom in order to slip the carto down for refilling, but it also means that you won't accidentally slip the carto up or down free of the tank and cause a big mess. They use the flanged cartos. Last I looked, Vapor Kings was still selling those tanks for $6.

Head in the sand attitude? Will you? What is to stop them at that point? Next step, maybe prescription perhaps?
Neither your evods or your Nautilus minis are sealed system and/or leak proof. Both would likely be in violation.

I wonder what is it about people that so many take the attitude of............Well, it won't effect me? Where is the compassion for the millions who struggled to get things this far advanced and for the hundreds of millions who's lives may be wrongfully effected in the future?

yes, and dont forget another TPD "suggestion" : doing away with all VV and VW and only allowing mods capable of giving the exact same amount of power at every shot...They havent quite figured out how to manufacture the thing yet /or at least no one HAS done so so it hasnt really been followed much but it is in there/"one of their ideas".

And, as you say, all eliquids will have to be in 10ml plastic child-proof bottles AND submit complete lab reports & obtain official authorization for each flavour and Nic level (same as FDA plans to do). That will cost a pretty penny and virtually eliminate all small Mom & Pop type companies.

Most US imported eliquids WILL soon go away unless they decide to invest in special 10ml childproof plastic bottles with all the appropriate warning stickers required by the EU on toxicity etc. and produce all this specifically for the Euro market AND ,of course, put in their authorization requests for each flavor/nic level...

Some countries have (Portugal, maybe some others...) or will be banning Nic entirely.... but all the rest will certainly tax and hike up ejuice prices. Who knows how much a little 10ml bottle will cost by this time next year ...????

That would be conceivable for a company like Halo (who plans to do it from what I hear them saying) but it will certainly eliminate most of the wonderful premium ejuices we know today, alot of them will probably just give up on the EURO market....

So ,as everyone says, in Europe it's smart to order in some Nic base and maybe a few rebuildable tanks + removable battery operated mods...FAST !!!!

In the US it's smart to do pretty much the same thing, especially NIC base, and in the US you guys have a little more time...not that much though...best to start ordering/planning ;) !

Let your fed reps know that without a doubt that they will be out of office should they support the FDA Ban on Vaping. I've told mine that they are out if the Ban goes in.

I do not, at this time, believe very many Representatives even read the e-mails much less Represent.

Canned responses from 3 MD representatives so far. One has gone so far as to keep e-mailing me invitations to events he will be visiting.................. Wonder if he would supply the tomatoes? :glare:

Me too. The one time my representative replied to one of my emails he
went on and on about a hunger drive for a food pantry and didn't even
mention anything that was in my email to him. Still wondering if some
aid tacked it on to the wrong email or if that's how he replies to everyone's
email.

I acted on a law in my state when I saw Avail Vapor had posters about it put up in their stores. I understand that salemen trying to sell product are going to be reluctant to spend their time with political action and bugging people, so writing something up and posting it is a good idea.

I sometimes think the major 2 political parties got together and split up all the issues to make it impossible for me to choose between them. It's easy to go vote but not so much choosing who to vote FOR or even against. I've barely voted for any Demopublicans or Republocrats since I voted for Dukakis against the lawbreaker party of Reagan and Ollie North (admittedly Bush winning was probably for the best).

I was playing devil's advocate. Most people are not going to read 6 pages, so I was kind of asking if someone would spell out the proposed legal changes in bullet points for those of us who are lazy, ignorant of them or just too busy....
This thread appears to be about local New York laws coming into effect in January.

If you want to know more about what is happening in the EU then I suggest this subforum...
