dspin wasnt there some resistance wire being sold a while ago that was very irregular in its Dia , so it made crap coils ?
And Nicrome wire is a slightly lower resistance for the same dia than Kanthal

Hey Eye, I don't know, but apparently me and V got some. We both got it from same seller off E-Bay.

Guys, still got no chance on making this unit work. oxidize it more than 6 times. Oxidized the whole mesh, put liquid on it and burn it. In total, about 10 times of oxidizing. Still getting low ohms. It would go from 1.0 to 0.8ohms to nothing on the provari. I've got no idea why. And tried to fire it on an ego batt. It fried the batt. Really need some help. Getting frustrated now. Tried different kanthal, still getting the same thing. Please help...

I do the following FAITHFULLY everytime and never had a short. I also burn the wire before installing on the mesh. You need a torch AND a cig. lighter (the lighter for sooting properly) IMO. Scubabatdan originally posted the following. Do it and you will have no problems. Don't skip anything.

13 STEPS in oxidizing


Oxidizing:
We need to make the SS mesh so it will not conduct electricity. To do this I use a butane tourch to heat up the SS mesh red hot, and the immerse it in water. Do this 4 times.


Now drip on some juice so the wick is wet and light it on fire, do this 3 times


Now use a regular lighter and just heat up the entire wick and immerse in water, it will turn black. This is the sooting up process. do this three times.

Now you can wrap your heating wire around it. I then soak with juice and light it on fire again, twice. Then soot it up once with a lighter.

It is ready to install, I have had 100% success doing it this way, with no shorts.

I give it to Stefano and boom , over 2.0 every time. I come home try it my self , again nothing.
Will try Dan oxidizing method.

You may very well have to do it 20+ times before getting it right. It will be worth it.

Are your wires red or glowing, if so - back to the beginning with oxidizing.

Try and put small piece of kanthal over silver electrodes and press power button. It should pop right away.
Just to see if line is working at all...

This could be totally wrong but my GGTB wouldnt fire the atty , just a tiny bare spot and got hot and melted the spring, it was the plastic covering the battery, it had worn away on the top corner of the battery, it took some looking to see it

Nice Dspin!!

still got my first coil working great after three days. I do notice that as the coils get's gunked, the resistance goes up. I still have to figure out on why the resistance does not stay stable and fluctuates. When it is not used for some hours the resistance goes up to 3 ohm, then when using it for 10 or 15 minutes it drops to 2.3-2.5 ohm. Also I noticed that when there is liquid accumulating on the silver poles and it makes a connection with the coil I get a short.

Ok got a 3.4 coil running at 6 volts, getting a great nic buzz, short tokes, plumes AND the flavor! Wicking goes fast enough, no dry hits while chain vaping.
