We can send the email first of next week and follow-up shortly after that or after the holidays if any are not available.

Hey MikenGA, our Keeper of the List of Members and Head of Munchies Dept. ........You were a bit more quiet than I would have thought. Taking mental notes over in the corner for later reference, no doubt.

I suspect it was the extended 'benadryl buzz' (getting over a cold) that prevented me from connecting more than three syllables one after the other...kinda hard to bump my gums when my brain is jerking from one gear to another.

I'm glad to say, I'M DOING BETTER this week. I read that you've picked up a similar bug, so hope you're feeling better now, too.

That's fine. Sammy - go ahead and re-assign ePipemods to Chaos. If I remember correctly, that leaves 2 more that need to be assigned. You can assign one or both to me as well if you'd like. But I thought I remembered Chatter saying he knew and would talk to Prime Vaping?

I'm going to be out of town all next week and on the run, so I won't be able to call folks until the week after Christmas at the earliest, so it works out that we're doing a mass e-mail first.

Who's writing that up? I'm sure it was said before and I probably missed it.

Is anyone a good negotiator? I was planning on calling OTG today, but I'm cramming like a .... for this test tonight. If someone can talk to them just to get the following accomplished:
We want a room for the 18th of February
We would like the bigger room, but will take the smaller if necessary
We would like a cash bar, and food will be a la carte.

After we get that nailed down I can just call and give them my card for the deposit.

Just spoke with Frankie over at OTG and he said yes to all of the above. The larger room is available for the 18th. Cash bar is no problem. Food orders a la carte are also no problem but...

He did mention one potential issue in terms of food orders a la carte. If we have a large group (75+) he mentioned a potential delay with his staff being able to handle an influx of food orders in the kitchen. In other words if we all sit down to eat at once there will be delays. First table orders food and it may take up to an hour before the last order is in the kitchen meaning the first table to get their order in will likely be finished eating before the last table gets their dinner. This may or may not be an issue since we don't have a scheduled time for everybody to eat. He just wanted everyone attending to be aware of that since we are not having a buffet or one of the food packages they offer.

Each table will be responsible for their own food bill. I think the staff would appreciate if we tried to have one bill/check per table. I would recommend bringing cash to make it easier to split up the cost of the check/tips at your table.

He mentioned the delay between actually ordering your food and it getting to your table could extend as well into 20-30 minutes. They will still be running the restaurant downstairs as well with a large regular crowd on Saturday night.

He also mentioned bringing in extra staff members for the event once we confirm numbers. I explained we had roughly 40-45 members interested in attending with about 8-10 vendors but that number may go up before February 18th.

Please note that I did not make any promises about our group re-attending or this being a monthly event. He did not offer any discounts or breaks on the fee/deposit. The $150 would normally be applied to the total bill for a banquet or one of the other food packages so I am not sure how this will work? He seemed to indicate that this was the rental fee for the large space noting that he waived this last time because the last attendees promised to come back for monthly meetings.

Any thoughts or concerns before we proceed?

I think considering the trouble they're going to for us, and the fact that we won't be doing the meal packages as they normally do, $150 is a perfectly acceptable rental fee. Unless anyone has any objections I'm going to call tomorrow and reserve the room. I got about $40 in help, and we'll recoup the total $150 from the Vendors and Raffle, and pay back those of us that pitched in on the bill. If anyone wants to throw in a bit it'd be nice, though. Gotta buy about $600 in school books for next semester. Freaking college bookstores got a real racket going on.
