It's a silly reason to hate all cops based on the actions of a few bad apples. Not all cops are a-holes.

Also, if you've just been stabbed, shot, robbed, or chased by a knife-or- gun-wielding maniac, who are you honestly going to call? The Ghostbusters? The Crips? The Bloods? MS-13? No, 911 and the poe-leece.

One of former co-workers was a young cop, and he's one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. We also have a super-nice cop who does laser etching as a side-business on his off-duty time and actually does custom laser-etched designs for our customers who want their Twists, eGos, or their MVPs pimped out. Only charges 10 bucks. He's even looking into acid-etching for metallic mods. He's a genuinely nice person.

Not ALL cops are bad.

You want be a jerk to a cop. Well that's your problem. When they walk to a car they don't know if you are friendly or are going to shot as soon as you get to the car. As much as you know you aren't doing anything wrong... they don't.

Look people use the same thing we do for that other stuff. It is illegal. (not going to get into whether it should be or not) Even if it was you aren't allowed to drink a brew while driving and I doubt you will the other stuff.

IF YOU ARE STOPPED IN YOUR CAR
Stop the car in a safe place as quickly as possible. Turn off the car, turn on the internal light, open the window part way and place your hands on the wheel.
Upon request, show police your driver's license, registration and proof of insurance.
If an officer or immigration agent asks to look inside your car, you can refuse to consent to the search. But if police believe your car contains evidence of a crime, your car can be searched without your consent.
Both drivers and passengers have the right to remain silent. If you are a passenger, you can ask if you are free to leave. If the officer says yes, sit silently or calmly leave. Even if the officer says no, you have the right to remain silent.

"But if police believe your car contains evidence of a crime, your car can be searched without your consent." Just so it isn't glossed over.

"IF YOU FEEL YOUR RIGHTS HAVE BEEN VIOLATED
Remember: police misconduct cannot be challenged on the street. Don't physically resist officers or threaten to file a complaint.
Write down everything you remember, including officers' badge and patrol car numbers, which agency the officers were from, and any other details. Get contact information for witnesses. If you are injured, take photographs of your injuries (but seek medical attention first).
File a written complaint with the agency's internal affairs division or civilian complaint board. In most cases, you can file a complaint anonymously if you wish. "

This was posted in one of the vaping groups I am in and I really like what was posted

ANY TIME you see flashing lights, turn on the video recording app on your smart phone. Maryland where I live is a 1-party consent state, and recording in public of an LEO is 100% legal.

The first time it happens, take the video and a copy of the CASAA materials bout vaping to the Chief of Police, and ask him to educate his officers.

The second time it happens, call the chief, and let him know you are taking BOTH videos to the local media, and you would REALLY appreciate it if he would educate his officers.

If it happens a third time, file a Federal 1983 Civil Rights violation lawsuit...

Lol as I read some of the posts; when I am pulled over.
I put my hands out the window so there is no duobt.
I move slow, if I need to gpo into any compartments glove box.
I open let them look before I reach for anything.
Its all in how you treat people.
Granted there are some a hole cops, but still if you get respect there is a good chance u get it regardless.
I want the cops really comfortable.
If he is my age or older I might say yes sir.
If he/she is younger than I young man or young lady...

Hmmmm never watched it but may try to google it now. You have my interest peaked.

Ha! Never would have thought of Cinti and Hardcore in the same sentence.

Bluecat, one of my favorite cop shows was Police Women, and I loved their Police Women of Cincinatti season. They weren't in the suburbs, those ladies were in the belly of the city. Hardcore Cincy! ;-)

I had some modifications done to my car just for this type of event. I had hydraulics installed so I can make my car hop around. I got a subwoofer installed in my car the size of a trampoline and a fog machine that instantly fills the car with fog so dense you need a wind machine to clear it out. Now when I see a cop, I push a button and the car starts hopping, fogging, neon starts flashing and play reggae so loud it wakes up Bob Marley from the dead. I don't have health insurance and using this method gets me a free body cavity search. In the end, cops don't fine any drugs but I get a free prostate exam. You can never be too healthy.

I really shouldn't have laughed so hard when I read this but I did. Being a Canadian, living in the US gives me a very weird sense of humor about health insurance.

That, was written with a lot of insight; brilliant!

I was pulled over once, for running a stop, in a deserted neighborhood. The car I was driving at the time had tinted windows, and I could see it was making the officer uncomfortable, as he approached me very carefully.

I volunteered to lower all the windows. The car was completely empty, and clean.

LEO's don't want to get hurt, any more than you do.

freakin hilarious.I had hydrolics in my 64' impala in 67'.There was a limit on how low your car can be and the police didn't know about hydrolics back then,at least ours didn't.I'd weld metal plates at the back to create sparks, got pulled over for being too low and making sparks and flip my switch to raise it to legal height before the cop got out to measure the height. He was going crazy trying to figure out how it raised back up.He carried a ruler just for that.As for cavity searches,we both got a cavity search and a turn and cough,we both ended up hittin the sandy shores of vietnam the next year. Was pulled over for drinking a red bull once.

On the way home I was at red light. Horn beeped and cop next to me. I rolled window down and he took a hit off his ecig and said, vanilla something and I said, french pipe with apple. He gave me a thumbs up! lol.
That is a masterful and stylish way for a LEO to do his job. ;)
