tank mods are handmade. So yes, they probably are made in garages.

Re web traffic - it's the bs sites that have all of the web tags all over dragging people to their bs fake comparison and review sites and their own bs sites.

I don't have to hit a good vendor often. Every couple of months for a replacement for something and some cartos, every time there's a sale I get my fave juices where they are sold. I shop the sales unless I need something quick. Normally I buy in advance during sales and drop $50 or so get multiple bottles of my fave juices. Every 2 months or so I buy some new piece of hardware to try and have a little spurt of buying.

Re tanks and clear cartos and stuff -

Newly invented stuff often doesn't work well
Not everything new is good
Most of us are not using the latest cool thing

Research stuff before you buy, and not just from one zealot telling you it's the greatest thing ever

Renzuli, that's actually one of reasons for the post. Going back to analogs is not an option and vaping definitely helps. It seems the suppliers know this and take advantage of it.

It seems like you have run into the WRONG vendors with every single purchase that you have made. Now, it's to the point where your making thread like this.

Don't have any advice for tank mods but I just wanna give you some suggestions of some GOOD vendors that I personally do business with and get my supplies from:

https://www.nitelitevapor.us/shop/c...Lo6U59AzEbsKzmyMFKQSUwVtYTeOe90i3HYTPeEmrBdyI
http://ikenvape.com/store/
Avid Vaper : Electronic Cigarettes, E-Liquid and Accessories
Alien Visions E-Juice

These four vendors that I have listed are my personal favorites. The reason: CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT PRODUCTS. They always answer your emails and give you the service that you deserve. Also, they don't rip you off because all of their products are worth every single dime.

Try emailing one of them and see for yourself. Of course there's more out there but these are my go to's.

And for that, I'm a LOYAL customer to all of them and promote them any chance I get. Like I'm doing now LOL

Mmmkay. I wish I can say, "I feel your pain", but I don't. I got lucky and found my go-to suppliers off the bat. Just keep shopping around and read the reviews and questions on the boards. Someone may have the same questions you do. That's what this board is for. This is a rapid growing and ever changing industry. For some it has become more than a safer nicotine delivery system, it has become a hobby. Most everyone has had their set backs with the e-cig, that's why they come here to seek advice and to be consoled. The supplier boards are only a part of this forum, not the forum itself. There is definitely a learning curve, the question is: are you willing to learn?

Guys, I only mentioned the tank-mods because they are so laffable.

I appreciate all the comments. I've got it now. Here's my idea. We ask for nominations and then elect our own ECF-Top-Ten-Testers or maybe Top-20 because there's so much junk ;) Of course they have to volunteer, but they have to have no affiliation with suppliers, they should have X number posts helping people that shows their expertise. I think there is quite a few good candidates from what I've seen.

Now, once we have our Testing-Team in place we can notify the suppliers forum of this and suggest if they want us to buy their half-baked junk, it first has to have the ECF-Top-Ten-Testers seal of approval. They have to ship samples free of charge to all testers. Then ECF can setup a forum for the testers to provide their reviews with pics and videos. That way I will never have to watch another horrible review on Youtube, well except for GeekGirl, she's pretty decent. The rest are the pitts.

One of the mods needs to get the ball rolling. Chop Chop!!! LOL

Ok, here's a 3 page rant cut down to a paragraph. Getting vaping supplies is a joke. Eg. what's your pick for tank-mod of the week? Getting supplies that work as advertised is even a bigger joke. Most suppliers appear to be operating out of their garage. After an hour checking website traffic for the top suppliers (based on the supplier forum here) hardly any of them even budge the needle. ECF gets triple the traffic of the top supplier site. Seems there are way more questions than answers. Anyone see a positive trend in this buisness or is it just more tank-mods to come? Are we just idiots for buything this stuff? I'm starting to think a well done DIY site would be big since the only people that can tolerate the crap they're selling out there are DIY types anyway.

/rant

Just buy things that have been around for a little and have stood the test of time. I don't know a lot about the trafficking, but if it's as simple as one click one point then that makes perfect since. I may get on ECF 50 times between a purchase. If we had the money to be buying vape goods as often as we need new knowledge then we wouldn't even need this site because we would own everything and be able to test it out ourselves. Again, not sure exactly how traffic ratings work though. Of course there are more questions than answers. Unless I'm just a complete lune(which isn't unlikely) that's the case with a lot of things in life, especially something like PV's which is hopefully in its infantile stages in the big picture(someone is going to accidently stumble upon the lightsaber one of these days). Which brings me to my next point that I personally am a big fan of the garage entrepreneur. This is America darnit. Well not for everyone reading this, but this is Insert your country name here. Just please don't spill any paint thinner in my E-liquid. I know its great for dissolving flavors, but it gives me headaches. I must say, your final point is a great one though. A site dedicated to DIY videos would be awesome in my opinion.

:thumbs:Seriously, if you stick with the tried and true products, you're fine. As many others have said, a lot of the new stuff is very early in its development. Relax - the nature of a forum like this is that people will be discussing the newest thing to hit the streets, vaping is a different experience for each of us. Some like to stay on the edge, others like to kick back and let others do the testing.

.... livin , in Sin City . And I just got a new Harley . Everything is right in the universe .

I beg to differ, sir. All is far from right in the universe from my angle. The city I live in could do with a good jolt of sin to drive off the boredom - and I just checked the garage in case I missed something. Nope, no new Harley. Far, far from right. ;)

Peace - and grats on the new ride.

I can understand your pain. I bought the clearomizers that leaked out of the bottom, then the vortex's that leaked out of the top. Made me wonder if the next new and hot product would leak out of the middle....
I finally found hardware that I liked and stayed put with it.... Now juice, there's a buying nightmare that I'm blocking out of memory : )

Wow! Have I ever felt the frustration you are going through right now!!! This can be quite a difficult thing to get into and get comfortable with. It has made seasoned vets pull their hair out! Us noobs have to figure out one thing first and foremost...OUR HEALTH DEPENDS ON IT!!

We can try to glean as much info from the forums as possible, but the thing is...what works for me may not work for you...in fact it is likely NOT going to work for you. Don't get all frustrated...this is such a new industry, everyone is trying to figure out what works and what doesn't to some extent. Quality control is almost nonexistent because this industry is akin to a program being in beta test mode.

Count yourself lucky to be one of the few that can call ourselves "pioneers" in this field.

illillillillilli, exactly. This forum wouldn't have so much traffic except the stuff IS junk.

well, maybe for some....but I've had really good experiences with a number of vendors and a fair amount different equipment. I've bought new stuff to try it- not because the old didn't work. If it was just questions about equipment and juices I wouldn't still be here.

I keep coming back here because of the people. IMO, the forum has traffic because it's a place to *talk* with people with similar experiences, play and laugh, learn what's happening in the regulatory arena, and sometimes help people who are struggling with the learning curve. The forum is about a lot more than the equipment.

Hi Ebutts. Why not just stay away from the tank mods? I know I have no desire to use a tank mod and I would guess many folks on here are prob happy with the upgrades in pv's they have purchased and dont use tanks either. Happy with my 808 and will one day go the ego-go go - echo route but as cool as tanks seem they just may not be for everybody. Especially if finding a good one has gotten your goat.

But I actually have something to say. Several years ago, when I first tried vaping, everything was crap. I'm talking M401's, M402's and the like. A year later I tried again, with 510's and 808's. Better, but still not quite what I liked. Now I'm surrounded by eGo's with mega attys, with tanks, and Riva's, good as well. And Leo's with the fairly new cartomizers. And many, many eliquids, also mixing my own. Everything now is way, way better. But I'm still not satisfied (read: smoking most of the time). Speaking for myself, I certainly hope that the new WTA-liquids will finally do the trick for me.

carpedebass, the health issue is very important. I wish I could hand a few of my analog friends an ecig and just say try it. I know if it helped them quit they would pay me back double the cost probably. Unfortunately, most will get completely frustrated with it and give up.

The thing is, it's up to everyone individually to decide if it's worth it TO THEM!! I don't see that as your call, my friend. They might just surprise you. I think it's up to us all individually to spread the news about this stuff to every "analogger" we come across. Some aren't going to like it and some are going to take to it like ducks to water. Again, it's up to them to grab the reins and go with it...just like it was up to us to do the same for ourselves.

Honda scootin over here!

Dang! you guys are making me miss my old Yamaha V-Star 1100. I had drag pipes on it and one of those performance chip things under the seat. I never met a Harley I couldn't stomp...except the V-Rod...then my buddy and his Yamaha Road Star Warrior 1600 stepped up and it was all over but the cryin'! Of course we lived in a small town though...

Yeah , but it was still a Yamaha , rice burner , piece of junk . Still nothing like a Harley , and never will be . Stick that in your pipe , and vape it .
