Bristow, Ok.
Imeo - guess what I did today??

My poor GG was sick again and I saw that the bottom of the button nut was not making hardly any contact with the GG tube, no matter how much I depress the button.

So I use the allen wrench and take the whole button assembly apart and pulled the button stem out of the GG tube.

I then unscrew (just a little) the little nut on the bottom of the button.

Then I re-assembled the button parts inside the GG.

My GG is now purring purrfectly
Thanks for the tip Mamu. Mine had been sorta misfiring. I used the sand paper so much I thought I wear a whole in it. I did this and it is better than ever.

If the nut is screwed really tight it doesn't make very good contact with the GG case.

So I unscrew just a little and now it makes good contact without me having to really depress the button to get it to work.

It's good now.

ok, you made the button just like you want it, no problem:D

If it gets unscrewed you will undestand it immediately because it will have no path, so you are ok:thumb:

xa xa sweety dont use the sandpaper so much because you will eat the base's button (after years:D). Only 3-4 times and you are ok

I thought that was what was causing the misfire until Mamu explained what she did. When I looked it was the same for me. Now I won't be sanding.

I'm having some missfires thru sanding now (and I used an emery board which has fine sandpaper).

I'm thinking of using a pen rubber instead which was suggested in an earlier post, when I get to a stationers.

Vaug, do this:

take off the 2 caps and look trough the tube from the atty side. Push the button and see how much of its surface touches the case. If its a hair, then you must sand it with a 1000 sandpaper.

Your button is moving ok? Does it goes up and down slow? If not, you need only the sand

It's a little daunting trying to sift through 23 pages of posts to figure out how to fix a problem with one's GG. A new thread should be started that only Imeo or Tim can access and update. Anyhow...here's my experience with missfires so far: My GG got to the point that it could barely fire. I took off the end camp and I cleaned the button contact with a vodka soaked paper towel bit that could easily fit between the button and tube. This did the trick for about a day, then it would cease working again. I then read that one needs to sand around the inside of the end that holds the atomizer, the part touching the battery. I then used a vodka soaked paper towel bit and cleaned that end as well. Whatever build up is there will come off as green on your paper towel. I clean the connections until the paper towel bits don't come up green any more. It has been three days now and I have had no missfires. So far this method seems to work. I wouldn't try this with other spirits, because they may have sugar or flavorings that can leave residue. Vodka is more of a pure spirit. I don't even drink vodka, I just have it around for steralization puposes.

Nice to have visits from family ---

Thanks for the heads up ----
so you have trouble too huh, ---
I forgot to mention in my post on these batteries
I do not use the charger that was sent with them
cos mine was smashed on arrival--

so I use a diff charger, so it could be the charger
but then who knows till the testing is done,
as you say Ikenbunny, by someone who knows electricricaltronics !!! 8-o

have a nice family day, talk to you soon, --
your posts are always informative,
entertaining, and welcomed by all---:)
Aww Thank you so much bunny:D Yes same problems as all, could very well be a charger issue. I'm going to try andy's great find ;)
You had a point about holding a charge, it's just puzzling because the batteries show they are filled. Hmmmmmmm

Mamu! I'm sorry I thought you were referring to these great tips that Tribe said. I was a little thrown off because of Tribe saying I stole the tip from him ;) I'm sorry and Your welcome lol I'm glad its working for everyone but I think Andy's idea might be the best idea.
Aanyway I have been doing some research (hehe) on the charger that comes with our GGs and it turns out it doesn't cut the power to the batteries when charging is done! Also the light does go green too early! This is fine during normal use but it would seem the batteries can be permanently damaged if left in the charger too long!! Luckily it would seem too long is about 18 hours so an hour or 2 shouldn't do any harm :)

My batteries are lasting much longer since I left them in for about an hour after the light turns green though I can only charge one battery at once because of my missing spring so I dunno how 2 batteries would behave in it!!

The charger is single channel so it wants batteries that are discharged to roughly the same level, mark each set and charge them together, I am lucky, I have no marker pen handy but one of my sets has a white colour at the top and other set is black yayyy!

Why not try the bad batteries charging just one battery in the charger at once like me with my missing spring and see if that makes it work better! That way the charger only has to worry about supplying power to one battery!

You can see the reviews and such about our charger DealExtreme: $5.48 CR2 Battery Charger its cheap and cheerful!

I ordered this as a replacement DealExtreme: $11.54 UltraFire 3.0V/3.6V CR123A Charger it gets great reviews, is the same brand as our green batteries, has dual charging channels so one flat and one not so flat battery can charge in it together and it plugs into a power cord instead of dangling, it even has a switch for 3 volts and 3.7 volts!! The only downside is that magnets are needed to fit the CR2s and its gonna take an age to get here!!

If the nut is screwed really tight it doesn't make very good contact with the GG case.

So I unscrew just a little and now it makes good contact without me having to really depress the button to get it to work.

It's good now..
Now This is an awesome tip!!! I can't wait to try it! so THANK YOU!!:D

Tribal, I love you :hubba: - it worked! thank you sooooo much :D

It looks like there is only one side of the charger working, but I now have 2 charged batteries & have been vaping my GG on & off for an hour & a half. Now that I have at last been able to properly experience the GG, I'm loving it :D

I've not tried the other 2 batteries yet as one of them is still on charge. I'm also hoping I will be able to get a 510 adapter soon as I just daren't risk anymore 910 atties, apart from this old one that seems OK.

Awww glad it worked out in the end, perhaps you will find the bad battery that way! I suppose there is a chance a good battery charging with a bad battery all the power could go to the bad battery or something making the good battery look bad too! I haven't had much luck with the 901 atomiser that came with it at 6 volts but my old white atomiser works great! Luckily the Trustfire 3.7 volt kit from Tim just arrived and charging as we speak! I bet those burning atomisers taste wonderful at 3.7 volts :D :D

I should also mention that this Trustfire charger is a whole different experience to the chinese 6 volt charger. Its solid and robust, bigger and plugs in using a cable so the charger can sit on the desk instead of the wall!! Its also charging 2 batteries, nothing is missing, it has 2 charging channels so even if a bad one is charged at the same time the good battery will be charged anyway!!! The new batteries from Tim are protected, I feel I can leave this charger alone and not worry but I will stay with it the first time as I can't wait to vape at 3.7 volts for long battery life :D

Tribal, I'll be very interested to see what you think of the Grant running on the 3.7 batts with 901's :)

These batteries are taking a little long to charge but I read on Dealextreme that its quite a slow charger, I don't mind that though as it keeps the batteries nice and cool!

I used to love the 901 passthrough with totally wicked and TECC atomisers, I am going to try the atomiser that came with it first, it it taste burnt at 6 volts I am guessing it will be delicious at 3.7 volts!! Ahh vaping on the beach with my little blue batteries in my GG, vaping all day and the battery won't die until night time and I still have a spare battery all charged up ready to replace it!!!!

Remember to use 2 full charged batteries and not 1 charged and the other half charged because they will get damaged. Ok baby?

Good morning everyone :)

does anyone have any suggestions for cleaning the brass caps? Mine are pretty tarnished from being handled constantly ;) but I don't think I want to use brass cleaner, right? Or should that be okay?
.

Use brass cleaner, no problem honey:):)
