A primary is just a regular non-rechargeable like you would buy at the store.

I see what you mean about the 3.6V cutoff. I would still air caution, the chinese have a weird way of phraseing things. Might be saying 3.6V is the max so do not charge past 3.6V. The guy that posted the charge graph pics thinks they might be LIFePo4 cells (read below),and most battery forums say that their is no CR2 with a protection circuit. So err on the side of caution. I might build a little charging box lol even for my regular e-cig batts. I know they are not protected and the price of those CR2s are worth the build.

These do appear to be LiFePO4 cells.

Pros: Good price :) After a couple charges, all cells seem to work well.

Cons: There is some performance variation between cells, but they seem close enough.

Other Thoughts: After running six cells through a battery analyzer I've come to the conclusion these are LiFePO4 cells. Their labeling (except for the "800mA"), green jacket, and the performance figures seem to verify this.

The six cells I purchased average just under 200mAh capacity @300mA drain. This would be inline with LiFePO4 cells in a CR2 package.

I've uploaded a graph for all cells (#'s 4 and 5 are represented here by their second run) and a graph of cell #5 after it's initial charge (5) and after it's second charge (5a).

The graphs for cell #'s 1,2,3 and 6 were done after the initial charge. Two of the cells (#'s 4 and 5), after the initial charge, appeared to be under performers. After a second charge they seemed to improve and were inline, more or less, with the other 4 cells.

Bottomline: For the cost DX has a good deal here. I might caution, that if these really are LiFePO4 cells (and, as I said, I believe they are), a proper charger is in order. A 3 Volt charger designed for voltage corrected (IC'd)regular Li-Ion cells will probably work, but decrease the cycle life of the cells, as they charge to 4.4-4.5 Volts. A regular Li-Ion charger with it's 4.2 Volts would probably be better, but still grossly overcharge the cells. LiFePO4's are somewhat tolerant of overcharge, but I wouldn't recommend it. A proper LiFePO4 charger charges to 3.6 Volts. I used a WF-138, set for 3 Volts, for the tests.

Another subject, I'm not too sure about using magnets with LiFePO4 chemistry, to permit charging in a CR123 or other charger. Fe is iron. Hummm. I used copper spacers with my WF-138.

Oh, and one more thing, "Beware of experts". :)

I can verify that the batteries provided with the GG do cut off at 2.0v. It produces vapor right down to that point then they just stop.
It is also listed on the side of the batteries- High charge-3.7v cut off at 2.0v

I am glad to hear that. Was wondering about the low voltage cutoff allso and if we knew when to quit. Was this verified with a meter ( probaly a dumb question to ask you Vince but you know what they say about assumeing) ;)

My main concern is on over charging and things that go BOOM. And lithiums make a big boom so do the LIFe's. But any rechargables carry that danger.

Kos, let's not over think things.Haha. These batteries stop discharging at 2.0v. They just stop cold. The 2 together are still 4.0v, plenty to power an atomizer. When they cut off you can check the volts and it shows 2.1v on the meter for each battery.
I believe this indicates a protected circuit.
The charger is rated at 3.6v.

Guys after 2 days of using the 801 I have to say that the smoke is better, the throat kick is of course better, no problems with burned atomizers (you must feed it more than the 901, I think 3 drops every 10 inhales if you inhale deep and long) but the throat kick is diferent in a way. With the 901 is soften to my throat and with 801 is harder. I dont know witch of these styles I like more but after 1 week I will know for sure.

I think that the 801 lovers will see a huge diference with 801 GG.:)

I tore one up last night. There was no circuit board on the dealextreme.com CR2 batteries, so they are unprotected

Charge accordingly, when the light turns green, take them off charge.

I've got some of those CR2s from dealextreme that aren't performing so well anymore. Once I get some new ones, I'll tear one of my bad ones up and see for sure if they have a PCB, based on the way they look, I'd say they don't, but based on the way they perfrom I'd say they do. We shall see.

that is the strange part......I totally expected to see a PCB on that battery under the green plastic....unless it's under the metal cap at the positive end of the battery.....hmmm......mine have always been fine, I've left them overnight several times with no problems. Usually I try to charge them at work, the outlet I use is right in front of me in case of sparks, flames, devils, death, etc...

I leave them all night every night the last 1 month and they are not warm, no blowed, nothing happen. Exept this, they write on to their side that they are protect? What do you think youfill?

Kos I use them for 1 month and I charge them all night every night. No problems.

Youfiil, I believe that there is a protection, all ways goes to this. Maybe it is inside, they cant lie so badly. If it was like this, someone would have seen the lie and the batteries would never show up to DX or they would have very bad critic. Nothing of these has happen, so we are ok I think:)

I just saw a video of bullgawd on how to clean his 901 atomizer. I saw that the atomizer lights like a lamp. I have seen this before in my tests to GG to see several things.

I did it again and I saw that there was no burning smell or taste.
I use it for 2 weeks now and for one more time I saw that the 6v does not allow the atomizer get covered by PG and stop functioning. Of course the secret is not to leave it without liquid.

Imeo,
Yahsu, fhili. (i'm working on my greek. let me know it this is right.)

OK, first of all, wow!

This is my first mod, but, wow. What a difference.

Secondly, thanks to you Imeo for all your work and dedication.

Finally, I am in no way affiliated. I ordered my GG from Imeo and paid full price for it.

The vapor production and throat hit are phenominal. I choked a couple of times at first! It is very nice to look at and to hold. I have been experimenting with different attys, carts, juice, etc, so I will not pass any sort of final judgement yet. All feelings so far are positive, except I have gotten a few "burnt" tastes. I will assume this is user induced, as there seems to be a learning curve from normal vp's. The GG burns hotttt. I'm on my second set of batteries, so the charger works. The quality of the work is first rate. Very nice on a hand made fabrication. I am extremely pleased with this purchase.

Imeo, now I need the immortal button! Please tell me I don't have to send it back to Athens.

That, my friend is one of my favorite features of GG, With a normal e-cig the battery performs a "cleaning cycle" by send a large charge to the atom to attempt to clean it, unfortunately the normal e-cig batts are too weak to do the job. Over heating the atom will definitely burn off any gunk and junk.
With the GG, No maintenance or cleaning of the atomizers are necessary anymore :) guess I should just start drinking my Everclear hehe

xaxa, nice try linkav!!! the right one in latin letter are "gia sou file" or in Greek "γειά σου φίλε".

Thanks a lot for your replay. About the burning taste I will tell yiou to feed it and the taste will be wonderful all the time. You perchase a unit that will serve you for a hundrend years (if you take the immortal button:D).

The GG will unfortunately must come to Athens friend because I want to put on it the insulant material witch is a little dificult progress. But dont be harry because you can do it whenever you want or when you see that a problem occurs. I am here to help you any time.:)

Thanks again, Sakis

Thanks Sakis,

But I will hold on to my GG for a little while before sending all the way back to Greece. You are right, of course, on feeding it. I know you said it one hundred times, but it must be topped off regularly. I have it down now. The flavor is rich and very nice. I have never really had a problem with the atomizers (I have one that is in use for 6 weeks and no problems, I just blow them out at night. I keep 2 or 3 in rotation.) My concern was always with the batteries failing or switches sticking and now you have solved my problem. I get a great hit on every inhale. And I really don't mind the topping off, as I was used to it with my 901 anyway, only now I have a much better vaping experience.
