Got coffee...
GMG, I thought you meant you had coffee for ME too :( See how it is when you forget to shop for coffee..you start hearing things like ....Arabica (@Shawn Hoefer ;) ) ...have another donut...or I'm frying up a boatload of hickory smoked maple BACON...come on over ;)

The left knee is the new hydraulic knee and it is NOT simple to learn to use but it IS absolutely fantastic! Used properly, it is almost like having the real knee !!!
Really good to hear from ( and see) you GMO!
I used to watch the Bionic Man Lee Majors on the "Six Million Dollar Man" when I was a kid...and now here we are...nearly there...nearly there! Blessings and Keep up the Good Work!

My son's friend from a few doors down came over this afternoon. He brought a laptop and a tablet so both of them can ignore each other and play minecraft.

Rather a disturbing thought really ....And this is the way kids "play" these days ...interacting vicariously thru the distance of a motherboard. I mean, there's no turning back from the technology aspect of it... As a kid (before pc's) Play was alot more physical and interactive. Hide and Seek .. Army ... coloring books...the occasional puppet and sock shows ;).....and yeah, thank goodness sports and art programs are still alive and well..although they too are being phased out of more and more schools and colleges due to budgeting and liability issues...Just having a hard time imagining kids of the future.

Shawn - Trade ya! :D
Hmmmm... basic black would color coordinate with most everything... sure. Wait! Is it Philips, Flat or Hex?

I'm not sure if I've posted this picture, but here it is.

Great!

Now if someone would only come out with a hydraulic brain for me... ain't been using my noggin to much recently - staying up stoopid late / early - and I am so veeeerrrryyyy tiiiiirrrrreeeeeddddd...

sports and art programs are still alive and well..although they too are being phased out of more and more schools and colleges due to budgeting and liability issues
They are also being phased out because schools now seem to believe (Common Core) that no one is allowed to "win" because they don't want anyone to feel like they are "losers." I say "Get over it and get on with it." There is no game that does not have a winner and a loser (be that an individual or a team). But because they have decided to cut down the entire forest to the size of the smallest tree, everyone loses.

I grew up in the 90's and there was a lot of what you mentioned. One of my favorites was using cap guns playing cowboys and supersoakers and water baloon fights. Although I did have a Sega Genesis and played that quite a bit with friends as well, but it's nothing like today. It's probably hard having a kid and try to have them not use technology that much when every kid at school is getting the newest gadgets all the time. Another thing is it's probably not good for little kids with developing eyes looking at a screen for several hours a day but I don't know, I'm not a doctor. ;)

I gotta agree with everyone... we spent our free time outdoors building forts and hiking and biking... I always wanted an Atari 2600, and had fun over at a friend's house - he had one. .. but they've rather ruined a lot, now.

@Utsuru people are always confusing me with a doctor... they look at the intricate work on my brooms and say "you must have a lot of patients." I always gently correct them. "I don't have any patients. Shucks, I'm a broom maker, not a doctor."

@Utsuru..now THERE's some more memories! Cap guns.balloon fights..playing Cowboy and Army....back when the 6 shooters still looked like six shooter's and little kids and parents gave no thought that anyone, let alone the police ..would mistake it for a real gun. Rip Van Winkle would sure have a rude awakening
I was too young to understand Vietnam ..even as Kent State happened in my state. I guess we baby boomers hafta be an adaptable bunch..or we'd all be in the loony bin together I guess...o_O
Interesting theories of teleportation and what not being tossed around out there now.....Yeah..just like the original "Star Trek" series! "Beam me up, Scotty!"
The world looks very different to me now compared to my childhood. @Utsuru..it sounds like you still have a bridge to the past that's akin to Life in my youth...I wonder..at what age are the kids now where it disconnects? Is it the advent of the cell phone. I know it helps to have a bridge to the past...like a grandparent(s)... I know I sound like an old fart..I don't FEEL like one :D ...and there were "Dear John" letters back then...instead of the text dump..whatever it's called:facepalm: Wells "1984"..would have surpised even him that science fiction had a better pulse on the future than alot of the scarey "apocalyptic future" stuff.
@Shawn Hoefer ..my bros had one of those Atari's that played PacMan, I think..with joysticks..it was pretty darn RAD for its time.
..just reminescin'

Spending the evening relaxing for a moment, vaping away on my Chi You Megan topped by Big Buddha. Needing to vape away the remaining 5 ml... don't think I'll get through it tonight...

Yep, @Utsuru, I'm a broom maker among other things. I am an award winning cowboy poet, storyteller, spinner, farmer, dyer, woodworker, and web designer. How's that for eclectic?

Very cool! That makes me want to get back into making walking sticks again, I had a phase where I was sort of obsessed with it. :)

Could you link or PM me where I could see some of your poetry? That sounds really cool, you're a jack of all trades, eh? Impressive.
