OK, I'm gonna take some Tylenol and get my .... outside. Catch y'all later this evening when I'll probably want a glass of that wine too (wine, not whine). :)

03 then we went over to Prehistoric Canyon.jpg

This is the entrance (actually the outflow - the wide end) of a place called Prehistoric Canyon. In my investigation of the geology of the area, I discovered that above this, to the east, there was, at one time, an inland sea. When the dam finally broke, most of the water coursed out through this canyon (which was, in fact, the creation of the canyon) and out on the flats (behind the camera), which probably accounts for the water erosions in those other smaller canyons/cracks (see previous pictures/comments). I also found some petroglyphs, implying that some ancient tribe lived in here at one time, though I find it hard to imagine that this place would be secure, either from enemies or weather. Didn't know these pictures would come with history lessons, did you?

Mornin/Night Tree Folks
..on the Morning After the long LD weekend.
I have a brain this morn  ..but it is going to need some kickstarting and extra priming with coffee/vape ...and some bribery with BACON!:D ..there..I was able to mangae my first :D of the day :thumb:

Ok..that was at 7am this morn..now I am ready to go back to bed ...not happenin'..too much to do:(

9/8-1
Please don't ever feel like you cant vent. If you cant vent here then theres a problem!!

..that's a big 10-4 and ditto ...thank u for posting that anjel:thumb:

And now I need a word with Fuzzy...

nothing to c here cat n lobster.jpg

@Fuzzy Thunderbear ...it is good to know "what is" ....you know you would do it anyway ;)..becuz (from what little I kno 'bout you)...you have an unquenchable "need to know" ..what's beyond that horizon...or what that Butte looks like from every angle...or what it will feel like to chainsaw up a coupla cords of wood..or what will happen if you quit taking your pain meds....that is just the wonder of you. You and I are much alike...as you have once said...yes, I concede you are the crazier :D:lol:....I do not know if the word "moderation" is even allowed in your personal ethos. I have had to "make my own accomodations" in the way I do things ....i.e...I no longer "swing" a weed whacker...I step into and out of it...I use a braced squat to clean kitty litter..and some things I have had to learn to ask :shock:for help:shock:...heavy objects that aren't worth ruining all my hard won benefits of my Physical therapy or bursting a disc over. But I have neighbors within an outfielder's stone's throw....A good Physical Therapist has done wonders for me...and believe me...I went thru 20 weeks with different therapists and nothing...short of an epidural...helped. This guy is that GOOD! When he first started working with me...he said my lower back was so tight, it was white...and wasn't getting enough blood flow...Tight from years of spasms and the way our muscles try to compensate by "guarding" an injury site. We had limited sessions...thanks to the VA...but he gave me about 45 min worth of daily exercises and told me..."Welcome to the rest of your Life" .....and I can tell the difference if I miss more than a couple work outs. I am hoping he can do the same with my neck as I just got VA authorization . No one said you should throw in the towel...No one said you should go out and do something that is prob not a good idea by yourself. You have to eat..you have to breath...everything else is negotiable :2cool: Once again...here you are re-inventing yourself...I've done it many times...it doesn't get easier ...are we to admit defeat??? Never

OK..Y'all can come back now :) ..thank you

It is interesting that we have so many folks here dealing with chronic pain....And that is a GOOD thing. Ever try explaining what pain feels like to someone??! It's like trying to describe the color seafoam green if you've never seen sea foam. I only bring that up cuz I've been contemplating having the house re-painted...A friend came over to offer advice and asked if I wanted it repainted in GREY ...."NO...I want it in sea foam green"..and we proceeded to go back and worth until I realized their GREY...was MY seafoam green.
:offtopic:
Anyway...My point...and I do have one ..is that it is good to have so many folks here who UNDERSTAND ...with out getting that "look" ...o_O...what those of us in pain are going thru.:thumb: ...and that is not a small thing.

9/8 - 1: ... called off today as my stomach kept me up all night.
aww..Tiggs..sounds like you've got what I had a week or so ago...it was going around...almost felt like a touch of food poisoning....but for the life of me, I couldn't pin down a culprit. I was better in a day or 2, so a touch of a bug, I'm thinking...Get lots of sleep...be nice to your stomach...hydrate...Enjoy the guilt free feeling of sleeping thru work :D

9-8
I am thinking of breaking open the bottle of chocolate wine and giving that a taste since I am home alone and hubby always accuses me of having a party...lol.. anyone care to join me?

9/8 #3
Why not? It's after 9 am! :D

Sure, and thanx! I would like some chocolate wine AND some grape juice:D:thumb: (@jpf880 ;))
@DingerCPA ....oh and I'll take those 2 extra hotdog buns too ...Have dogs, no buns...thanx!

headed to the local winery lol...any requests?

@KatzWh1skers your post on dealing with pain and explaining it was VERY well said. While I no longer live in chronic pain I did for a great number of years. Often to the point that my brother would walk backwards in front of me and act as my 'human walker' (a regular one wouldn't go across the yard or the gravel driveway and our house was to tiny to move one through). Its a terrible place to be and being "with" people who understand is a gift in and of itself

An interesting wine choice. I think it would be kinda cool to go to a vape & wine/beverage pairing party or event. Have several different vape flavors paired with different beverages. I think that would be fun.

...so...did the Lounge Lizard make a Special Appearance for the First Day of School??!:w00t:
No... today was more cheerleader-like--without the gymnastics.

So I went to Costco today. I was excited: this would be the first time in several years that I'd be purchasing gas for less than $3.00 ($2.97 to be precise, but, hey, it counts!). Evidently many others had a similar idea and the gas line was long... Ten minutes later and there is only one car in front of me. I pull out my wallet to get my membership card and my ATM card... and notice that my ATM card expired in August. So, through the gas pump I drive (the people behind me must have been wondering!), drive home, find the new card, activate it, drive back (because I needed gas and today was really the best day to do it), wait in line for another 10-15 minutes... all told, that was an hour of my life that I squandered today.

On another note, the Post Office called and said that my package had been scanned "delivered" at the address at the beginning of my street (which is where the mail truck often parks). The carrier has been alerted to the problem and will check during delivery. As I was driving at the time that she called, I was unable to get a number to call back, so the woman said that she would add it to the call back pile and check in either later today or tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

I'm making homemade chicken stripes for supper. By homemade I mean I'm cooking them at home as the chicken breasts came from a bag in the freezer, the bread crumbs from a box and the eggs from the carton. I guess it's better than nuggets from a fast food place.
Looks like I'll get my six in today thanks to being a slug earlier.

Taking a short break to let the sweat evaporate. And, like, wow Katz...
@Fuzzy Thunderbear ...it is good to know "what is" ....you know you would do it anyway ;)..becuz (from what little I know 'bout you)...you have an unquenchable "need to know" ..what's beyond that horizon...or what that Butte looks like from every angle...or what it will feel like to chainsaw up a coupla cords of wood..or what will happen if you quit taking your pain meds....that is just the wonder of you. You and I are much alike...as you have once said...yes, I concede you are the crazier :D:lol:....
Score: 100% :)
I do not know if the word "moderation" is even allowed in your personal ethos.
Yes, but rarely. More today than in days gone by. It used to be all or nothing ("Do. Or do not. There is no 'try.' "). Today, occasionally, "make do", as opposed to perfection, is sometimes acceptable. But I still feel guilt if I go that route. I do not want to do something if I cannot do it right. But I am coming to realize there is a difference in doing something half-a$$ed because you are lazy rather than because you simply can no longer do it. I must give my best shot no matter how insignificant others might deem the result to be. I am not them. I am me.
But I have neighbors within an outfielder's stone's throw....
We're mostly the same here. My nearest neighbor is a couple miles away, and I hate to ask him for anything because he is busy running his ranch and I know he works his buns off all day, before sunrise to after sunset. I also know he would drop whatever he is doing and get over here on a moment's notice if I "really" needed him, which makes me ask even less because I do not want to become the one who cried "wolf" when it was only a baby fox. I will find a way to lift that 60-pound bag of wheat and fill the chicken bin. We (you, me, a dozen others who call this thread "home") know that some pain is inevitable. We live with it.
A good Physical Therapist has done wonders for me...
I did physical therapy (PT) for six weeks after each knee replacement. The VA demanded it so I'd be sure to reacquire the full range of motion (ROM). I developed my own set of exercises and did them at home as well. I exceeded their requirements, both in total ROM and time to reach that ROM. Unfortunately, PT would not help my spine, and the facility that would manage that, if it would help, is 75 miles one-way from my house (we really do live in the middle of nowhere). I cannot afford either the time away or the gas money. So I demand of myself that I do physical labor every day, just to make sure things can still move. Yes, it hurts. So what? Unless someone invents instant total spine replacement (I'd stand in line to get Data's body - ST:TNG - if it was possible), then I will live with what I've got. What choice is there? Sit down and cry about it? What good will that do? I don't believe in the "entitlement generation" or that anyone owes me anything, and even if they did, I wouldn't want them in my space all the time ("Here, let me do that for you" would be responded to with "Get outta here! I can do that myself!"). And I do. Every day. All day. Just once in a while I need to vent (as do we all)... especially when someone who doesn't even know what real pain is complains constantly about how much they hurt... makes me want to smack 'em and tell 'em to "grow up!" I bet you (and all the other You's who are reading this) have felt that way too occasionally. I also know that no one else did this to me. My reality is of my own making. There is some lesson in this for me. It will be resolved when I have learned whatever it is that I chose to do this for. One of these days... until then, get up and get on with it.
Woot woot all six in today without being logged off...

I have the best piggy in the world. Very rare she will buy soup in a can or broth... She makes all soups from total scratch, using real meat for the broth even. It's very rare occasion we eat anything from a box and that is when I cook lol... Even then most times when I say I'm cooking something from a box,,, she decides to cook herself... Yup I am spoiled rotten lol... But I do appreciate it and Luvs my piggy.

2.
Looonnnggg day today. I did get my vapemail though. A total of 210ml of eliquid, but 30ml of that is nasty, gross, why did I buy it, no wonder it was on clearance juice. And I got a FreeMax Starre Pro tank from a swap with a vapefriend and I got a box of 50 premade coils cause I'm lazy and don't like making coils. Wish I would have found those months ago! They work just fine. :D

Count, fingers crossed for your vapemail! I'd be outside at the curb waiting for my mailman to come if it was me.

Got some drip tips (different kinds to try) and another InnokinCell. The missing package is still, unfortunately, missing. Perhaps tomorrow...

This just happened and I had to share!! Wifey and me are laying in bed and she fly's out of bed and says she just injested something vape ( her words ) I said what are you talking about so she said smell my breath I said no vape just smells like ashtray ( she still smokes ) that only made her mad lol so she storms out of the room and I follow and ask what did you swallow and she said cotton or something like it with vape on it. I explained that I don't re wick in bed so I'm not sure what she swallowed but it wasn't vape related. This just makes her madder she said it may have been a piece of fuzz with vape on it, ( mind you I'm laughing my .... off) I know not helping my cause. So I ask her to explain how fuzz got vape on it and she said where I vape in the house everything has vape on it lol!!! I'm still laughing and she don't think it's funny but I had to share
