PIF to @Slowone2

Slow the people in this thread never cease to amaze me with their generosity and support, we are a family in the true sense of the word even though we have never seen each other. We share and care about each other more than a lot of real families.

I have just finished reading the last two pages of everyone's chronic pain and I wish all of you at least one "moment of sunshine" (that bright moment when you feel, if just for an instant, like nothing hurts). As is obvious from the comments I put under each tree picture I post, that I still have bright memories of when I could "climb every mountain," and maybe, subconsciously, that is why I am doing that; it feels good to relive a time without the pain, active, carefree... happy. To answer a couple other comments: Am I still me? Yes, but clearly "me" has changed over the years because I used to go out of my way to help others no matter what. Today, I am lucky if I can help myself to get out of my own way. If someone sprained an ankle 20 years ago, I would wait on them hand and foot. I knew what their pain was like. Today, I know that level of pain is so trivial that if they complained and wanted to be waited on like I used to do, I'd tell them to get off their lazy butts, because I know my pain is 100 times worse and I am still up and taking care of business regardless of the pain and they are acting like weenies. So obviously I have changed - I am less tolerant of those who say things are worse than they are. Yes, I still love and I still care and I still go out of my way to help - it just takes longer and the sympathy level isn't as high. And each and every step I take today requires conscious effort rather than bounding around the world with unconscious enthusiasm. But we (me, you, they) get on with life, one day at a time, one step at a time, but we did not quit. I cannot quit. If I do, it is all over. There are still a zillion things to be done, to be learned, to be appreciated... Love to all.

We found that lost gold mine, though the tunnel was totally collapsed. This pic is what is left of the miner's cabin from 100 years ago.

One more before I get up and get outside. Instead of cutting up broken trees today, I am going to clean out the horse barn (months of poopy piles to rake and wheelbarrow out to the compost pile), then, if there is any time left in the day, I'll do the same thing for the chicken coop. Too bad vaping (as opposed to smoking) has made my nose work better. Don't really want to smell all that crap....

07 Blackwolf Creek.jpg

Wandering between central Orygun and the Pacific coast, we took a break at a wide spot in the road and found this endearing little hike called Blackwolf Creek. Seems it is the confluence where it, the Rogue and south Santiam rivers come together.

Sorry, that sounds harsh, but I don't mean it to, just mad that you are going through this and your family expects you to be their maid. That mess would sit in my house until hell froze over before I'd clean it up, whether I was feeling well or not.

:evil:had to giggle at this...I knew I liked you...thank you for confirming it!! It took me years to get to that point but I did...too bad it took so long lol
Pain has been a ten for over a week in my back and increasing in my neck also.
:cry:I'm so sorry slow, I hope they can give you some relief
Speaking of vape mail, my package finally arrived! The normal mail guy was on vacation until today, so the first thing he did was figure out the problem and ring my door bell...
all I can say is :rickroll::rickroll::rickroll:

Fuzzy mentioned a while back about how some geological formations are tagged mountains and smaller ones..those that don't "measure up" :D..are called buttes. I recalled a funny tale told to me by my geo friend years ago...A colleague of my friend had been the first to map an area in the North Cascades/Tomyhoi Peak area...and to the first goes the honor to name it...Well...he must have been feeling sentimental..as he decided to name it Big Bosum Butte  ...the problem..and he regrets it to this day..is that it turns out there are not 2..but 3 actual "bosums"

Had a rough day helping daughter with her school work. We got it done, but dang everything doesn't have to be so hard. Stop whining about it and saying how pointless it is and get. it. done.

Now it's time to think about dinner. I think we'll have cube steak and whatever else I can find to go with it tonight.

my "juicy" afternoon...
Got three new custards worked up for hubby to try, got SIL a batch of wow menthol done and ready to ship, finished and delivered the bottle to the vape shop manager who had to have my peanut juice...now I just need to either find or work up a couple of bright fruity flavors for myself hehe...any suggestions that don't involve peach? I'm thinking some kind or pear berry or dragonfruit/strawberry...but now I'm being lazy and don't want to mix and more teeny tiny bottles of a maybe/maybe not lol

I hope everyone is well in the tree this evening

9/9 - 3: So last Friday when I picked up the co-worker, the boss' son in law; I stated how our day would go;
The boss is going to put four times more on top of us than can be done, he will show up for a little bit and then leave to some meeting. He then will keep our checks kidnapped to force us to stay later than we wish to. Since it is a holiday week and we will be off without holiday pay, he will try to get us to work longer hours because he knows it will not count to OT. We will have to go pick up our checks at the office, where he will leave them and he will already have gone home for the day. I will have to pay close attention to my check since there is OT on it this week and he will try to make all the time normal time, as well as pay me few hours than I worked.

How much of my prediction was correct: A 25% B 50% C 75% or D 100%

D 100% and when I told him about my check and missing time, instead of saying sorry and giving some lame excuse he sighed because he had been caught "again." Time to eat some salad, work out, go for a walk, and work out again. Later.

Well, hubby is home for his weekend - he's off for the next two days! Woohoo. We were discussing movie stars this evening and what movie star reminds me of him, and I told him its Liam Neeson in the movie Next of Kin. (Liam did an excellent job of playing a mountain man in that, to a tee, plus he does look a bit like hubby imho) anyhoo, so now we are going to watch the movie tonight, since it has been a long long time since we have seen it..

it is going to be a nice evening tonight. :)

WOOHOO for everyone who recieved their vape mail today, and to those who the mail lady missed.. hopefully it will come tommorow for you!

@Slowone2 - that is way too cool that the mod was pif'd to you! I bet you are so happy and I am very happy for you!

@bellastarr - I don't envy you those days! I remember them well!

@tiggerrts - I am sorry to hear about those problems with your boss and your check! I will keep you in my prayers also!

Have a lovely day/night to all, and to all a good night! :)

Whew! What a day. Today was my FRAD's birthday (for the newer Tree Peeps, FRAD="Friend's Dad"--he had a stroke back in March and my friend and his family live in Europe, so I've been handling the local business--bills, mail, house, phone calls, living arrangements, etc.), so I drove up to take him out for lunch and (since it was so hot) some ice cream. While we were at it, we also ran a few errands that he needed done and stopped at his house for a little while before returning him home so that he could join the organized beach walk. I got back home and had started pulling out my vape mail (tragedy! I had to leave the package unopened because I had to meet him!) when I receive a phone call. Apparently, he lost his wallet.

Now, I remember seeing his wallet on the kitchen table at the house, so I knew it was either there, in my car, or with him at the Assisted Living facility. So, I hopped in the car a half hour before rush hour and drove to the house (which is kinda sorta on the way to the AL facility, but still 15 minutes away without traffic). Searched and searched and did not find the wallet. I pulled my car apart and found an old magazine crammed between the seat on the passenger side as well as a dirty pair of one of my kid's socks--but no wallet. On the the facility: he swears he doesn't know what happened to it: it should be in his right front pockets. Well what do you have in your pockets? Keys on one side, an identification chain in his front right, and nothing in his back pockets. We searched his room, we drove back to the house and searched, we drove back and searched his room again. Nothing. We started walking back to the front foyer, next to which is the dining area (it was, after all, 4:30 and time for dinner ) when a woman in a wheelchair, who was hearing us discuss it in the elevator, reaches up and grabs his ..... Is this it? Sure enough... it was in his back pocket (the one he'd patted down himself) the entire time.

I told him it was all part of the birthday experience: lunch, ice cream, and a scavenger hunt.

Yo @CountBoredom , are you PGA by any chance? You and Lannie ought to talk - she was almost LPGA a long time ago.

I just made this really cool e-juice. Have several left-over tobacco juices that are both too strong in nic and too nasty in taste, but being the Scrooge that I am, didn't want to throw them away. I poured a 15ml tobac into a 30ml bottle, added a few drops of sweetener, and filled the bottle with low nic strawberry juice. Not a bad suck and makes a good deal of vapor (no, not cloud chucker) on an X6 at top volts.

Well, almost finished the horse barn today. Obviously there was a lot more horse crap in there than I thought. Had some illusion I might also get the chicken coop done too. But after raking up all the dingle balls into several piles and forking into the wheelbarrow, I only managed to make 15 trips to the compost pile (between vaping breaks, of course) before Lannie came out to retrieve my tired achy body to have some dinner. In a few more minutes, we have to go do evening chores. Puff pant... (ouch!)

Wifey and I are watching The Judge, took a break to fold some clothes.
Tiggs hope things get better at work. What did your coworker say when everything came true?

:tumble:
9/9 - 4: He was stunned, and wondered why the boss lies so much. Just got done walking eight miles, watched the doves fly, the squirrels play, some people play volleyball, and one lady on my third pass around the park decided to shake her rump at me, strange. It was good to look at but strange.
