Whew! What a day. Today was my FRAD's birthday (for the newer Tree Peeps, FRAD="Friend's Dad"--he had a stroke back in March and my friend and his family live in Europe, so I've been handling the local business--bills, mail, house, phone calls, living arrangements, etc.), so I drove up to take him out for lunch and (since it was so hot) some ice cream. While we were at it, we also ran a few errands that he needed done and stopped at his house for a little while before returning him home so that he could join the organized beach walk. I got back home and had started pulling out my vape mail (tragedy! I had to leave the package unopened because I had to meet him!) when I receive a phone call. Apparently, he lost his wallet.

Now, I remember seeing his wallet on the kitchen table at the house, so I knew it was either there, in my car, or with him at the Assisted Living facility. So, I hopped in the car a half hour before rush hour and drove to the house (which is kinda sorta on the way to the AL facility, but still 15 minutes away without traffic). Searched and searched and did not find the wallet. I pulled my car apart and found an old magazine crammed between the seat on the passenger side as well as a dirty pair of one of my kid's socks--but no wallet. On the the facility: he swears he doesn't know what happened to it: it should be in his right front pockets. Well what do you have in your pockets? Keys on one side, an identification chain in his front right, and nothing in his back pockets. We searched his room, we drove back to the house and searched, we drove back and searched his room again. Nothing. We started walking back to the front foyer, next to which is the dining area (it was, after all, 4:30 and time for dinner ) when a woman in a wheelchair, who was hearing us discuss it in the elevator, reaches up and grabs his ..... Is this it? Sure enough... it was in his back pocket (the one he'd patted down himself) the entire time.

I told him it was all part of the birthday experience: lunch, ice cream, and a scavenger hunt.

omg, this made me laugh. What a trooper you are!

@tiggerrts - The rump shaker made me snort!
Triple digits here, with no end in sight! Perhaps mid 90's this weekend. I'd jump in the river, but even it's warm, so I'm gunna take a cold shower.

Have a great evening, everyone!

Yo @CountBoredom , are you PGA by any chance? You and Lannie ought to talk - she was almost LPGA a long time ago.
LOL! No. Not even close. I've been posting the pics because my last theme was Torrey Pines (in all forms), but Robin's question about the beach reminded me that many people may have heard about Torrey Pines in a different way. The shots are scenic and include trees (including the name sake), so I picked it as a theme for the week. :)

I just made this really cool e-juice. Have several left-over tobacco juices that are both too strong in nic and too nasty in taste, but being the Scrooge that I am, didn't want to throw them away. I poured a 15ml tobac into a 30ml bottle, added a few drops of sweetener, and filled the bottle with low nic strawberry juice. Not a bad suck and makes a good deal of vapor (no, not cloud chucker) on an X6 at top volts.

Well, almost finished the horse barn today. Obviously there was a lot more horse crap in there than I thought. Had some illusion I might also get the chicken coop done too. But after raking up all the dingle balls into several piles and forking into the wheelbarrow, I only managed to make 15 trips to the compost pile (between vaping breaks, of course) before Lannie came out to retrieve my tired achy body to have some dinner. In a few more minutes, we have to go do evening chores. Puff pant... (ouch!)

I do the same thing with juices....I cant stand to just throw money out so bad (to me) juices get either a "makeover" or PIF to whoever may like them.

ONLY 15 trips?!? sounds like even the young more able bodied would be pooped!

Same here. If I get a juice that's not so great, I doctor it up with some other flavors. Usually end up with something decent that way and don't have to waste it.

@tiggerrts glad you sound like you are feeling better....I had some choice words for your boss...but figured that's of no help to you...so I am practicing biting my tongue  I will be so glad when you can take your leave of that guy.In the service we called it "getting short" ...the date of our release from service....and when you got "really" short...it was counted in hours, days and minutes. There was even an attitude that went with it and had its own name:D ...short timer's attitude
...I digress ...

Just so everyone knows, since we have so many new Family members, when I say G'Nite Uncle it's my way of saying G'Nite Everyone! I'm not sure when it started but it's been going on for a long time. My first post of the day and my last are always the same, we'll except on certain occasions, like tonite. So without further ado...........................

G'Nite Uncle!

Beautiful photos of beautiful courses. I am a neophyte gawfer (seriously, the L is not supposed to be pronounced - ask a Scot - they invented the game) and Lannie is the one who taught me. We don't get to play too often since moving to South Dakota because it is just too far to a course and then they are mediocre (bad grass, few trees, rough greens), so seeing your pics is quite refreshing. Given the current physical limitations, however, a cart is required...

Well, I did use the small wheelbarrow... :) Figure 6 cubic feet per load times 15 loads (appx 90 cubic feet of horse crap) at about 50 yards one-way to the compost pile is a total walk while pushing the wheelbarrow (ouch ouch ouch) of 1,500 yards or 0.85 miles. If Lannie hadn't come out and stopped me, I would have finished the remaining 5-6 loads before dragging my tired .... back to the house. This is a farm. This is what the maintenance man does on the farm (I might own this place, but that's still my title).;) I have been totally unable to convince the horses to clean up after themselves. :( I will finish the barn tomorrow and do probably half as many loads of chicken crap from the coop with a reduction of 10 yards per trip to the compost pile. So, ya feel like coming over here to play in the barnyard? We can also pitch a few gawf balls around the yard afterward...:D Don't own any wine, but we have fresh cold raw milk...

11 there we have it.jpg

There's that little canyon again... the one we named "The Wedding Canyon," and now you'll know why. These two really strange people decided to get hitched out in Nature in rather archaic garb. Lannie's mother dropped us at one end of the canyon and the two of us had to walk the length to the other end, asking the local spirits of the place to join us, to where the ceremony actually took place (below). The sword's name is "Storm Bringer" and it is spirit-blessed by Father-Sky and Mother-Earth and dedicated to protecting this union from all dangers. It hangs on the bedroom wall for instant access.

And you thought I was weird before...

I actually played my best game on the Torrey Pines South course.... once. Most of the time, however, I find the beer cart makes my scores easier to bear...

Last one for the day. Too tired to stay up much longer, so I bid thee all fare well and good night, my precious Tree Family. Hogs & Quiches y'all...

10 check out that kicked-up dust.jpg

My favorite horse of all time, Shadow was a Tennessee Walking Horse. He was a show horse before I got him, then he became an excellent trail horse. Lannie's Arab and Thoroughbred taught him to do steps that no Tennessee Walker ever did, but he was still a sweetheart even with a screwed up gait in the pasture. As soon as I got in the saddle, however, he remembered who he was.

Watching the Japanese news - Mainland had a tropical storm go thru yesterday that dumped massive rain and now they have bad flooding in some areas. They're using choppers to pull people out of the water and off houses. Lots of places tore off the foundations.
