Hey @Uncle Here's a pic of one of my favorite people. It has been over 24 hours and it is still on the forum (a few pages back), so I thought I'd move it forward for you so you can see if it ever truly goes away.

First - Thank You for the compliment . . .

NOW - As for the the photo still being on the forum, well it seems with the new interface and changes that ECF made to the way thing happen here - the disappearance of Photos/Images will no longer happen. I just asked "retired1" in the "Forum Issues" thread about the picture/images posted no longer disappearing when deleted from an outside source (like PhotoBucket). The basic and most important response I got was . . .

Images are cached immediately upon posting. So removing the image from the source is not going to remove it from your post.

Material posted on ECF is on Google within minutes of being posted. We encourage this. We even provide a detailed site map to the major search engines.

In light of this, I cannot stress the importance of this enough.

If it's private and you don't want it seen on the Internet, DO NOT PUT IT THERE TO BEGIN WITH.

Given this, if people are willing and still want to post a picture of themself or their family that they would not want to be permanently left on ECF post - I would strongly suggest that they ask that the post not be quoted and then go back to edit their post within the allotted time allowed (which I think is 24 hours) and delete that photo themself.

Hope this information was helpful, especially to those who wish to share anything personal, but do not want it to be a permanently inscribed here on ECF (and/or possibly the Internet) . . .

On the Road in Alaska....I always liked how it looks like you are going to drive right up the side of that mountain!! Notice the big crack in the lower right windshield...There were actually about 3 big cracks in that windshield. It's so commonpalce, the cops leave you alone. Common to replace windshields 2-3 times in a Winter season (semis throwing rocks)

Wow ..That is great info, @Uncle. I KNEW there was a reason I don't like posting pics of persoal persons on the web!

We have two dogs and three cats and will have them forever, and given the chance to rescue more,,,, well you now know who to call cause we could never turn down an animal that needs a home..,.

Bless your heart, @Slowone2 ! I love my furry kritters...but their claws I only reluctantly tolerate because I am not willing to lop them off at the first knuckle ...and have the scars to prove it

I have issues with the {novacaine} so I very much dislike dental visits ..and hope to find one that will put me out instead ..hope yours is relatively painless

...I dabble a bit in photography and painting....and I don't post anything I want to keep private on the web for that reason.....Try googling this pic of san diego..(sea shore/coastline) and see if mine (below) shows up . It is heretofore unpublished ANYWHERE

all of my pictures are also posted elsewhere so they are already floating out there somewhere...except the first one that I posted (the one of my fugly mugly lol)...and I had already posted it elsewhere on ecf so I was very ok posting it again here



sorry about the dentist trip @rangerrobin never fun!

(and this one has never been posted before but I don't care about ex hubby, mom is gone and her hubby wouldn't mind so...)

So you want me to delete your picture from my post? Can I still do it at this point?

EDIT: I just tried. The large pic went away, but ECF kept it as a small attachment.

I’ve known about this work since the spring, but was putting it off to make sure nothing else came up that took priority since my dental insurance maxes out at 1K per year.
As it is I’ll be payin’ about $800 out of pocket. I also hate having dental work done. I suppose no one likes it, well maybe a masochist.

I have some more dental work to do, but will have that done in January when my deductible refreshes. I just popped a Xanax and am headed out now.

Yes, Katz, that's just down the shore (the wave you see in the distance in the upper left of that photo is the beach from my post).

Those darn, seals (where you were, those were seals, not sea lions)! They lived on that rock in the middle left of the photo for decades--which is why it is called Seal Rock. But the big storms of 1992 (an El Nino year, I believe) encouraged them to move to the sandy beach off to the left and out of frame (below). Thus began a long and bitter battle between beach-goers and seal activists that continues to this day...

Katz, your photo was taken over by the green shack in the upper middle of this photo. Ironically, this beach is known as the Children's Pool because a sea wall was constructed in the 1930's to shelter the beach for children to swim safely. Children are no longer allowed on the beach for months at a time to "protect the seals."
