Started the day on the river after breakfast at the restaurant. Breakfast was good. The river was moving faster than usual. I'm not talking Colorado River rapids, here... it's still just a relaxing - sort of - float trip. We load up six rafts with 4 guests and 1 guide each and put in around 9 a.m. about 5 miles from where we get out. We stop at two points along the journey - one is a story and song spot, the other is a poetry and story spot, all while interpreting the history and lifestyles of those that chose (and choose) to live in the Arkansas Ozarks.
Came directly home after we got out of the river at about 12:30 p.m. Took a shower and changed from my river rat clothes into my vape shop clothes, packed my kit (I really got to get my kit packed smaller. I mean, is there a real reason I choose to take 3 boxes and 3 mechs and a complete build kit to the store? Really...). Once there, I went to tug up my jeans that were slouching a bit and pulled the belt loop right off... the day went downhill from there.
I'm supposed to be there to consult and work on the web site. I wanted to get with the owner and get an updated inventory list to get posted online as it changes daily. Instead, I worked the sales counter most of the day with a couple of the most annoying customers I have ever encountered... sheesh! The employees were BSing with their (paying customer) friends and building coils. The owner was painting the walls with chalkboard paint.
I did come home with a new atty, though. I took in my spare, unused Velocity and traded it for an Aqua V2. Not 100% sure I like the V2, yet, but it has some interesting features to be sure.
Missed messages from about 4 or 5 people while working (I leave the ringer on my phone off because I think it's rude to take a call when working retail). One of the messages was from The Wife. Seems she had taken my old beater van to get grain for the critters and had run it out of gas. Sigh... she managed to get the van off the road, grab a gas can from home (Stepdot was at home and brought it to her) and put in a couple gallons, but ran the battery down trying to get it started again.
Stopped where the van was parked on the way home from the vape shop and tried to start the van - no luck. I transfered the grain from the van to the Cruiser and went on home. Helped with chores, ate dinner, then went back for the van in the dark. Ugh.
Van is home. I am home. I am beat. And, good night...
