Tomorrow is my 1yr quitversary! I figure I've spent approx 2K in the 1.5 yrs it took me to quit smoking. Crazy, but okay, if my life has been extended. My new goal is vaping on a budget.

Well, gang, I have been absent from here for two days. Didn't even miss me, did ya?
All day Wednesday was an absolute panic about butchering roosters, then yesterday morning, the thermometer said 32F (the weather dude lied again), so it was a panic over harvesting everything in the garden before the freezing weather ruined it all. Too late for the green peppers, but I brought in about 100 pounds of tomatoes, which kept Lannie canning all day. My "to do" list is getting more and more full and I am so behind on the firewood, I can hardly see straight (being blind in one eye doesn't help any).
Then, this morning, the mail lady brought unexpected vape mail. An angel from New York sent me this:
Being a dyed-in-the-wool Tootle Puffer, I don't have a clue how to use this SXmini, so I'm gonna have to wait until the winter-preparations panic is over so I can study up on it.
I was trying to post last night, but the lights flickered, then came back on at less than half power. Stuck the VOM probes in the wall socket and it read 72 VAC (major brownout category), so figured there was a problem with at transformer at the substation, which didn't get fixed until after midnight. My UPS only lasts five minutes (just enough time to save and log off), so I dropped everything, ran around unplugging fridge/freezers and anything else that could be burned out by such low voltage (either that or shut off the main breakers, which would mean I wouldn't know when the power was back). Living in the middle of nowhere is so much fun...
Gotta get back to work now, but just thought I'd let the TreeFam know I am still alive.

Back from PT ...a nap may turn into bedtime tho ...and too many acorns left to gather

..and I think I have one more baby goat pic here.....and then we'll go back to snow 
..I call this one.."The Baby Goat Carpet".
Seems I recall their arrival coinciding with a Holiday...Thanksgiving?? Christmas?? Thanksgiving was not easily forgotten! Woke up to minus 50* temps outside..and that went on for about 3 or 4 days. Funny thing about propane... at minus 45* it becomes a liquid...and you can pour it out in a bucket. What you can't do with it is use it to cook or heat. So that Thanksgiving..the rather large turkey had to be cut up and cooked on top of a wood burning stove. At those temps the metal drum used to construct the stove starts to take on a nice glow. Nothin like gathering around the warmth of a woodburning stove to make you feel all toasty ..course you had to turn every so often, so the other side could warm up too.

I wanted to go to a vape meet or similar, but the only one I could find is in San Jose, which is almost 3hrs away, one way. Plus, I heard from someone, who's been, that it's not that great.
Since I have chores to do and no gf this weekend, I'll keep my eyes open for one and celebrate at a later date.

Been enjoying the drizzle we had today. It will make soccer somewhat messy tomorrow, but that just adds to the fun!
