i am thankful for everyone here, its why i troll arround so much. i litterly only have my kids, my bf, and ecf. i do have a roof, electric and my monsters.. even if they only listen to daddy. lol. it is a blessing having a job... but in two weeks, ive only worked 4 days... and your right, she is still with me... otherwise id be curled up in a drunken fetal position, ignoring the world.. i read your post from lastnight, ... and i wish i could help. thank you for being so understanding.. so sweet of you.

Ive been where you are and I know its stupidly rough at times...even if all I have is a shoulder it is my privilege to share it with my family-friends...no one here knew me years ago when I left a 15 year marriage with NOTHING but two kids...it was adopted family that saw me through that and everyday I try to remember how alone that felt and to give back where I can...

Nothing but time and determination will carry me through my current sads, but isn't that what carries us through the light and the darkness both? Just knowing that you are here and that we can lean on each other is a blessing and I thank you

Good guess, Katz. John Jacob Astor Memorial column. I went up there (yes, tough stairs) to do a 1000mm shot of Saddle Mountain (far to the south).
I do understand your attitude about the ankle, but here's how I have to look at it: The doctor, if I had gone to one, would either have put a cast on it (which always leaves your toes exposed, and how do you go to the barn in sub-freezing weather to shovel cow crap with one of those things on?) or would have decided, upon my objection to a cast, to wrap it tightly then tell me to stay off it for six weeks. Nope. Not gonna happen. Not here, where I have no option but to help with the chores because Lannie cannot do it all by herself. I am moving slow and the pain is at a tolerable level, so I will get my share of the work done. There is a big difference between the TV dramas, where everything works "by the book," and real life. I often wish I could force the doctors to live out here and at my income level and see if they would follow their own advice; to do so would cause all our animals to die. I will not permit that just because I was stupid enough to not dance faster and get out of the way of that big chunk of wood. C'est la vie...

I sympathize with you, Blue. We had the painting crew show up at 8 am this morning to power wash our house. The HOA has been repainting the stucco for the past couple months--and our house is one of the lucky ones to be done this week. My wife and I were running around placing towels along the windows because, invariably, some water was going to get through. At least our windows are a little cleaner on the outside. Painting will probably begin tomorrow.

@teemae--check the date on your last post. This month has been going fast enough already without jumping a day ahead...!

Thank you, Tiffani. I managed to stack all the firewood, then take a 50-pound bag of wheat out to the chicken bin in the horse barn, then come back and get a 50-pound bag of cracked corn to take out there for scatter feed. Back here now for a rest and vape break. No tears, no cussing... just got 'er done. We have to try to herd those eight little peepers into the coop tonight because the forecast for the next few nights is down to the single digits for temperature and they probably won't survive that if their stupid mama keeps them out in the lilacs. They're too big for all of them to get under her and not big enough to be fully feathered.
