Well Treefam I am off to get some Power Ball tickets.....have a good afternoon...I will check back in later on....after I win......
1/6 3
I did something today I don't remember the last time I did. I bought a ticket. Hope to win something lol. Be nice to pay off the house. That would be plenty for me.
Good Luck!

I bought mine and even "picked" the numbers. Not quick pick, like I have done, the rare times I've played, before. Lots of us at work, spent the last part of the afternoon sharing what we would do if we won. ;)

@CountBoredom - Stay safe!

Have a wonderful evening, everyone!

Thanks, all, for the concern for my safety.

Count I saw you around for a sec, you okay?
Indeed, I am--just worn out from wading through the lake on our street. There is one storm drain that collects the water from the entire street. During a big rain, leaves and pine needles have a tendency to clog the drain, forming a nice lake at the foot of my driveway (actually, the drain is between my house and that of a neighbor, but the slope on their side is a little steeper). Further, that drain is along a storm pipe that collects water from two streets uphill from us before continuing downhill to the canyon below. There was so much rain this afternoon, that water from uphill was actually coming out of the storm drain because it couldn't go downhill fast enough. This made the lake on our street deeper and less predictable than usual. What I mean by less predictable is that while I am out wading in the water and reaching down to pull debris from the drain's grate, I was never sure whether or not I'd open up a huge hole of suction (which can be strong enough to pin you in place if you're not careful) or whether or not I'd get a geyser shooting up out of the drain. It took about half an hour, but I managed to clear it. Then I needed to take off my wetsuit (the water is cold--and there is a large metal streetlight right next to the drain which has attracted lightning--of which we had plenty today--in the past). I also cleared another drain from our front yard and had to clear my gutter of pine needles blown from the tree across the street which was causing my deck to flood.

Of course, it stopped raining shortly after I finished.

It could have been worse--one man had his 3-day old lamborghini lost to a flooded parking garage in a storm last year. He replaced it, and the garage was promptly flooded again.

I think I'll just sign off for the evening. Good night, Treefam!

It's rare I get all posts in but looksy at this. Course my fingers of both hands feel like they are on fire, burning bad. Not sure why I'm on. I'm headed to bed myself. Wishing all my treefam the best of luck in the draw tonight. My tickets are downstairs so won't know if I won till morning.

whew! You gave me a scare there, @CountBoredom ...glad to hear you and fam are alright. I have seen funnel clouds in other un-tornado-ey places like Alaska ...Thanks for the warning, Universe... tornados are now on your emerg preparedness radar. :nun:
"Residents of Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, Utah and Wyoming will have to head out of state to buy a ticket for the chance to cash in on the winning numbers of the third-largest Powerball jackpot of all time. Not only do these seven states not participate in the lottery game, they don't even have state lotteries of their own."
*sigh* oh well...I will take some solace knowing some of my tree friends here will share in the winnings ...with my ma  ......wish....and make it so.

Busy day today trying to get copies of all medical records and proof of employment so I can do battle with the insurance company. Hardest thing is getting employment records for some reason. Can't get it from where I worked as they sent me to another company. That company wants all sorts of information I don't have. My last day of work was the day I got into the accident,,, wrong. Evidently I was still employed for some time after that. How in hang am I supposed to know the day they decided to consider me no longer employed. Crazy is what crazy does.

@Slowone2 . . . First - Were "You" still receiving any pay checks from the company after the accident . . . If so, when was the last one . . . If Not, when did they write or call "You" to tell Ya' that "You" were terminated . . . Now if they did this then "Your" last day of employment was one of those dates respectively . . . Another option would be the last Date you worked before "You" started to collect Disability/Unemployment Benefits . . . Last - but surely not the least, might I suggest that you submit the dates in a letter in the following manner:

As requested, the following is all the information that I have and can get from my past employer/s at the time of my accident. The following Dates are on or approximate: Date of Accident: 00/00/000; Last Date of Work: Same as Accident 00/00/0000; Date of Last Paycheck: 00/00/0000 and Date of Termination Letter (or Phone call): 00/00/0000 (Please see attached documents). If You need any further information or have any other questions concerning this matter, Please contact (Insert Company where employed, Contact Person in Human Resources, their address, their phone number and/or The Company and all their information that took over also).

Hope this helps . . . ;)

Traffic--and distance. We live in one of the spots furthest from the school's "area" and have to negotiate one of the most congested intersections to get there. School also starts an hour earlier than the one my daughter currently attends, so we would likely have to consider leaving the house around the time we currently wake up.

Okay, I'm off to visit the FRAD house and deal with a month's worth of mail before the rain starts again...

So I guess school buses are a thing of the past anymore?
I gotta admit, I don't know how families juggle everything now.
