Temps got up in the mid 70s today and a bit of humidity this afternoon - felt great. Looks like rain and cooling down for tomorrow - bad.

Good morning everyone. Definitely agree with @tiggerrts glad it is Friday. So got a few pieces of good news yesterday. First, the wife went to the baby doctor. Everything is looking good, but baby might be here sooner than expected, as she is now measuring a week ahead. Second, my Koopor Plus was in my mailbox waiting for me yesterday. I'm just a little bummed that I didn't get my batteries yet, so it sits in its box for now. No b&ms here to get 18650s from, so gotta order online. They say patience is a virtue, guess we shall see how patient I am.

Good morning everyone. Too much to catch up on...

Yeah, the news is forecasting 2 weeks of nuttiness with a 100% chance of craziness. ;)
At least you don't live too close. I'm one freeway exit down from the golf tournament going on right now and that's bad enough!

I wonder if the shrinks ever thought of this as talent rather than a disease?
Of course not. Any deviation from the norm is a disease, didn't you know? It is why humans will eventually go extinct--we "treat" any chance we have for successful evolution.

Second, my Koopor Plus was in my mailbox waiting for me yesterday.
Still waiting for mine....

@CountBoredom - How are you feeling?
Yesterday, at about this time, I said better. Then I sat down on the couch to chat with my wife... and promptly fell asleep. I'm hopeful that today will not be a repeat... but it may make a liar of me yet. Thanks for asking!

Good morning, day, afternoon, evening, night! However the case may be.

Well, got to sleep early this morning and then was awakened when the guys came to change over to fiber optic. The hubby tried to let me sleep, the dogs however, weren't so kind. So I am up and trying to be a productive type of person. So far, well, I am enjoying some computer time and made a nice bacon and egg breakfast! Mmmm!

Hope everybody is doing okay.

Smile! It's Friday and for some people that is very important.

I understand the dyslexia... more common to misplace words in a sentence than letters within a word (which I do often and have to re-read everything before hitting "post"), but help me out with the "write legibly backwards" part. Do you mean
backward-jpg.526282
I find it much easier to do the one on the bottom than the one in the middle. I don't seem to have a problem with mirror-image words or even whole sentences. As I suggested earlier, those artistic and "drafter" mentalities can see words/letters easier as a simple graphic construct instead of being restricted to seeing a word as an entity unto itself. I wonder if the shrinks ever thought of this as talent rather than a disease?
I forgot there was more to it than just dyslexia..... there is also Irlen Syndrome involved.....
What is Irlen Syndrome or Scotopic Sensitivity? | Irlen Institute
Perhaps you have seen the tests they do for that....(red/orange helps a little & I do mean just a little)
Yes it is a give.....and also a major problem when it comes to expressing oneself....

  • Poor comprehension
  • Misreads words
  • Problems tracking from line to line
  • Reads in dim light
  • Skips words or lines
  • Reads slowly or hesitantly
  • Takes breaks
  • Loses place
  • Avoids reading
    • Trouble copying
    • Unequal spacing
    • Unequal letter size
    • Writing up or downhill
    • Inconsistent spelling

The reason I wouldn't say it's a talent is because it makes it difficult to communicate with other.....it's both a gift & a curse........the gift part is that I see things that others don't...the curse is sometimes those things shouldn't be seen... like Spiderman says with great powers comes great responsibilities....
