2. Oh boy what a long exhausting day...and it's only going to get worse. I even had to give up my day off for Mardi Gras tomorrow and will have to work this Friday too! Talk about an unhappy camper! I will be so glad when this trial is over next week!

@Scooter jordan II - Congrats on the new grandson. 40 is not too young. I was 42 when my granddaughter was born last year and she is the light of my life. Grandchildren are the best...you get to spoil them and have fun with them and then give them back! ...Enjoy that new baby!

@rangerrobin - Sorry you're under the weather...hope you feel better soon...sending healing vibes for you....I can commiserate on the car issues as you know!

The day's work is done, but I am so far behind in all the threads I am trying to keep track of, I still feel like I am just passing through... Where do you all find time to be everywhere at once?

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm laid off. So I usually have plenty of time in the mornings, then I try to get some stuff done around the house. Then at night, I'm back on. Since I'm not working, my sleep schedule has gone to crap. I'm never tired, so I stay up late, get up early.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'm laid off. So I usually have plenty of time in the mornings, then I try to get some stuff done around the house. Then at night, I'm back on. Since I'm not working, my sleep schedule has gone to crap. I'm never tired, so I stay up late, get up early.

I guess I should respond to this so you, and any others fairly new to this thread, have some better understanding... I have been totally disabled for 16 years (also known as being forceably retired). But we choose to live on a small hobby farm with cows, horses, chickens, guineas, dogs, cats... So when I say "work," I mean taking care of all those critters (forking cow crap, bucking hay, shovel snow, etc.) and repairing all the fences and stalls and gates they manage to break. Like you (laid off), I don't have a job where someone pays me to be there for a certain number of hours per day. Our "job" is sunrise to sunset seven days a week. This, being a hobby farm, has zero return on investment (i.e., we don't make money at this, we lose it), so I support my wife and all these animals on social security income only. So... well, a day here starts with a cup of coffee, then get your .... out to the barn to feed all those animals, clean up all their crap and wheelbarrow that out to a pile, and help Wifey milk the cows. Get back in the house for a quick breakfast and feed the dogs (4) and cats (5). Then go scoop the ashes out of the wood stove and take them to the pit. Clean the cats' litter boxes and take that to the pit. Take the recycle stuff out to the garage. Take out the dungeon garbage and the kitchen garbage. Cut firewood and kindling and bring that into the house to keep that wood stove burning. If there's any light left in the day, go work on the fences or something else like that, then do evening chores (same as morning chores), come back in the house for a quick bite of dinner, then spend an hour on the couch with Wifey watching the boob tube. When she goes to bed, I do the dinner dishes, and come down to the dungeon to see if there's anything newsworthy on this silly computer. Oh, and if you think all the above isn't enough to keep Joe Average as busy as it seems to keep me, the doctor thinks I should have been in a wheelchair the past 10 years, but I think I don't have time to lay down and die because too many animals depend on me. I am slow, but I will get it done. And if you didn't notice yesterday's comments, a day here can also be filled with troubleshooting a problem, driving to town to get parts (5 hours) and home to do the repairs. So for those who do work 9-5 and do not steal from their employers by doing personal computer stuff on company time... how can you possibly keep up with all this BS and still have a life away from the computer? ... Just sayin'...

Good morning, everyone! Hope you have a good Tuesday! @Fuzzy Thunderbear I'm with you. I don't think I could keep up if I had a job, or like you something that kept me busy all day. That's how most of the "farms" are around here now. People do it because they enjoy it. It's hard to make a living doing it anymore unless you have a couple thousand acres.

Man I feel like I have abandoned everyone here. Between work and life and getting things ready for baby, hasn't been much time for me to be online lately. It's snowing here again, calling for 5 to 7 inches total by tonight. I just wish spring would get here already.

The heat is broken at work again. It wasn't bad when I first came in, but it is getting colder as the morning goes on. No one wants to come out and fix it today with the snow, so it may get a little chilly in here by the end of the day.
