Hey Everyone, May the 4th be With You!
I was wondering when you were going to get around to that! ;)

Does anyone know what gauge wire for the kanger sub tank mini and the drip box?
@SLM's suggestions of 28 and 26 are good. I personally use 28 to good effect, but have considered maybe picking up some 26 to try. I follow the KISS mindset and don't do anything but simple coils because they're easy and I can crank them out pretty quickly with little setup (although I, too, have been thinking about the coil master). You also don't need to replace your coils all the time--you can dry burn a good coil and re-wick and go again with it with similar results for a while.

Your subtank mini RBA should have come with some included factory coils. If you use these and dry burn/re-wick every now and then, you could probably keep these going for a while without ever having to make a new coil...

ETA: Oh, Blue's awake. Must be time to get moving...! :)

Uh oh @liblue1 slept in. Looks like anyone running on her schedule is late today.

Looks like we are gonna get some storms today. Hopefully nothing like what has hit other places in wv recently. Baseball size hail winds and flooding don't really fit my plans.

So are ya like really oldt now? :)

OK, question for the TreeFam: Have you ever vaped a juice that you just couldn't put down? I mean, like, to the exclusion of all else? It was just so yummy that you didn't want to do anything but sit right where you are and suck your binkie all day long? Name the flavor. (If it was a non-Vape Tree juice, please do not name the vendor here - that would be rude)

Welcome to ECF @hyperduca Check out this neat contest thread where you can win some really good e-liquid just by chatting with the great folks who hang out here (see complete "rules" on page 1). Lots of fun here! Nicest people on the forum and you just might learn a thing or twelve... :)

@CountBoredom I had no idea I could do that.. Wow sure could have saved some money on coils.. I just changed the coil out in my dripbox for the first time last night, that one held up for a full 2 weeks.. I was amazed.. But my toptank should be ready for a coil pretty soon, I think I'm going to try it with the RBA I'm there are see how it goes... Thanks everyone! Y'all really have me excited to do this now... Now I can't wait to get off and go home and order stuff :) an hour and a half to go

I went through a 30 ml bottle (Not sub-ohm) with a unitank in 2 days (1 1/2 days really) of Butterscotch.......back when I first started about 4 months into it.....it was 18 mg......I did just want to stay by the window and puff the whole thing in one draw.......

So far today I've spent about 2 hours on the road and 2 hours working. Just finished lunch now I have to drive 40 minutes for a 20-minute job. At least I get paid by the hour. And it's a company vehicle with company gas

@Mandikay You can't dry burn the factory coils with the cotton in them. You'll burn the cotton. On a RBA, you can pull the cotton, rinse the juice off and pulse burn the coil to clean the crud off. Sometimes you even get a cute, little fire on the coil, LOL. It's easier to do than explain but how I do it...

Take the base off the tank and unscrew the top cap and take the chimney off. Put the deck base back on the airflow base and screw it on your mod. Cut the power back to say, 11 to 15 watts. Hit the fire button until the coil starts to smoke a bit, let off and blow on the coil. Repeat a few times and you'll start to see the coil getting clean. Bump the power to maybe 25 watts and do it again. You can heat the coil until it's red hot. Just don't keep it there too long. So say... Get it red, let off and blow again. The coil will look almost brand new, just probably a greyish color instead of shiny but no crud on it.

Then you can rewick it and it's off to the vape races again!

@KatzWh1skers It really is pretty easy. I haven't had a factory coil in my Kanger tanks in months. I have a RBA in my Aspire tank that's a bit harder to build on but not bad with a little practice and my Kayfun's are RTA so no option but to build.

As to cotton, I like either Japanese sheet or Cotton Bacon. I use cotton balls at work sometimes but you have tough your way through the cotton taste a lot longer.

And cotton balls to me... are harder to work with.

Butterscotch is one of my favorites too, but mostly during colder weather. In the heat, I prefer berries.

@Mandikay get stainless, i bought mine from pilots hq on amazon (304 ss, 1700ft 17$ roughly +shipping ) 26 awg is a great starter(0.015 inch is what phq lists as on amazon) its a little springier than kanthal and lower resistance, but it vapes better on everything.1700 ft is more than you will ever screw up. And as you advance you can get crazy with it (twisted, chainlink, claptons)& nothing is cheaper, anywhere. As for cotton look for drago, its super absorbant and fluffy, takes a little break in but really good. Cotton bacon aint a bad place to start. or you could go rayon lots of love here on ecf for rayon. Havent tried it me self but its on my to do list.

Thanks @ThaFuzz! I think I'm going to go for it. Does anyone know what gauge wire for the kanger sub tank mini and the drip box? I think I'm going to go ahead and order everything but I'm not sure about what gauge wire would be needed.. Any suggestions on cotton?

I've tried Japanese cotton, and rayon, but just use organic cotton balls now. ;)

26 gauge is my preference for coil building, but 28g might work better for your application. I don't know about the tanks your using, but you can trust the Tree Fam to guide you. :thumb:

    Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I had another one that I couldn't put down....I think it was sweet tarts.....I don't even remember where I got it....it was around Fall and I finished the bottle again within 2 days....but that's about all....I might like berries if I could do them...but since I can't I have only tried a couple in the B & M and they were just so-so.....

Here's to the 4th..........and may the 4th be with you.............

As others have said, you shouldn't dry burn a coil head--unless you rebuild the head, which is possible for some. During my first year of vaping, I learned how to take apart the Kanger heads and dry-burn and/or rebuidl them. I even made a customized coil rod from a long tack I picked up at the hardware store for less than $1 which provided the perfect oblong shape I wanted out of my 30-gauge wire (swapping the dual coil setups for a single larger, oblong coil). I was very happy with the result and I reused coil heads probably about 10 times before I needed to replace them. The sub-ohm coils are harder and probably not worth the effort if you have an RBA (the Subtank Nano cannot take an RBA section).

As for wicking material, I picked up a pack of Japanese Organic cotton pads (Shiseido) at a department store counter for about $10 last year and have used maybe 4 pads out of 70(?) so far. Prior to that, I was using organic cotton balls, but the pads seem to wick better and have less of a cotton taste.

Regarding can't-put-down flavors... There are several flavors that I enjoyed tremendously with the first bottle, but that didn't keep my attention on the second. On some, I wondered why I was so gung-ho over the first; others were still good, but I could put them down and take up another flavor without any issue. My guilty pleasure flavor is one of the first flavors I purchases from a local B&M when I bought my first ego kit: Merlot, which made me smell, as my wife put it, like a wino (she cautioned me not to vape it when driving). On my first vapeversary, I went back to the B&M and bought another bottle of it--it brought me back to those first heady days of vaping and I rather liked it. (I might have to go back and do that again...) With regards to Vape Tree flavors, I find myself coming back to Just Peachy, Melon Balls, and Pinoy Punch most often.

Not a good day for me. Microwave died this morning then I found that all the autopay setups I've done the last couple weeks were bad cause I had the wrong info - 2 got rejected and cost me extra. Had to go out and personally take care of a couple, lots of time on the sites making corrections and a bunch of phone calls. Plus I spent the bucks for a new microwave.

    5/4 - 2: Happy Birthday @Uncle !!!! :bday::bday::bday:

Mandikay lots of good information given already, the hard part is the fear and getting started, try not to get frustrated when you start and just learn; after a few you will feel so confident you will wonder what took you so long to get started.

Fuzzy my all day vape, DIY Asian RY4 with Dulce de Leche, people say it smells and tastes like Starbuck's caramel macchiato.

@Roadtrip635 @anjelvape77 @Amlowe Where have you guys been? Hope all is well.
    Good to see you @DaleH1985
