What happened to the procedure where you pull the teeth and wait a couple of weeks for the swelling to go away before they fit the dentures?
They still do that. Gives you time to heal and make sure you get a good fitting pair of teeth.
They said in order to assure a good fit that you need to heal your gums while wearing a denture so they will heal into the correct shape.
I had mine done in 1977 and even way back then they did it as they just did for Mandi's hubby. My dentures were actually made weeks before my teeth were pulled and put in my mouth over the stitches of the operation, so I went in with teeth and came out with plastic dentures, which are still in my mouth today. :)

Ya know that "cool" I was tellin' y'all about this morning? Sadly, it didn't stick around. Sky cleared and it went up to 90. I still got lots of work done because 90 is better than 105, but the shirt was still wringing wet. Oh well...

First of All - Here I am sitting and falling apart for the past few months - trying all I can to get better . . . SO - I am now looking at some major work and possibly having to have the rest of them pulled within the next few years if not much sooner . . . AND - NOW Here You All are talking about having your teeth ripped out of your mouth and then temporary teeth just shoved back in while Ya' suffer in pain for over a year before getting any better and hopefully get the permanent dentures that fit . . . JUST WHAT I NEED TO READ . . . NOT NICE ! ! !

Good morning everyone!
Running a little late today... Surprise surprise lol. My alarm clock went off from 3 till 3:30 and I didn't even hear it... David woke me up when he heard it and asked if I needed to get up... Unfortunately I did :/
@angelphyre I need that shirt!

@Uncle I'm sorry about your teeth, teeth pain is always the worst to me.

Well about to head off to work. I'll check back in later

You feel nothing of them taking the teeth out, during the procedure. It is the Fixodent "glue" that is the problem. You are to take them out to rest your gums overnight, pulling on dentures fixed with glue to the sutures and wound is not nice, I found that eating ice cream helps. At the end of the day, the adhesive has weekend, the cold from ice cream allows it to release freely and with ease.

Mandi, tuna fish sandwiches, bean burritos, mashed potatoes, some food is good right now. I got frustrated fast and wanted solid foods, I like steaks and ribs. So I got a five pound pack of gummy bears, soft and hard. I would take four so they were all along my "Teeth" and then I would bite down on them all to toughen my gums. I was ready for my finals in just over a month. I chewed my gums into submission. Sorry though Uncle, been there done that, broken teeth, scary feeling.

Good Mornin' / G'Night and Good Vibes Tree Fam!

Ugh, W after a 4 day weekend, well at least it's only a 4 day W week for me. However, we have an anniversary W dinner to attend Saturday night, so it's really a 2 day weekend in my mind. ;)
Also, today is our first day in our new office!

@Uncle - Damn, I'm sorry, dealing with all that on top of recovering really sucks. Hang in there!

Have a magnificent day, everyone!

Good morning treefam. Sorry to hear about the tooth issues @Uncle i know it's no fun and quite painful. I have been blessed with several bad teeth myself, which cause me some serious pain from time to time.

Another Monday morning at work. 1 hour in and only 1 customer so far. This has the makings of a long day for sure.

Working on getting my car ready for the demolition derby. Spent a few hours on it yesterday, and dang was it hot outside. 97 with heat index of 105 or more.

Good morning, everyone. Another week, another M morning...

@Uncle, I have no sage advice on teeth except to make sure that they give you that shot when they begin the work. They forgot to give me mine when they started doing my wisdom teeth--they had managed to crack two before I could finally let them know.. Best of luck, and best wishes!
